1 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2007 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 10/09/2007

I have a 2006 Jeep Commander which I purchased new. I've had the vehicle for a year and have 33,000. The truck has stalled at least 5 times. There's no warning and it just shuts off! I contacted the dealership and they stated they have nothing in their data base. I don't understand how that's possible considering all of these e-mails. I thought it was just me and being a girl I didn't know what I was talking about. Bottom line, I have a car they can't fix and I don't want to drive!!.

2 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2006 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 08/01/2007

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Commander. While driving 15 mph or greater, the vehicle stalled without warning, which resulted in a total loss of power. The contact stated that the vehicle would restart on its own within a few seconds. The dealer stated that the sensors failed (sensor type unknown). The contact was uncertain if the sensors were replaced. Approximately two weeks later, the failure recurred. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. As of November 8, 2007, the dealer had not completed the inspection. There is a defect investigation open (NHTSA action number ea07007) for the engine and engine cooling. The failure mileage was 35,000 and current mileage was 38,000.

4 Engine Cooling System problem of the 2007 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 05/03/2007

The 2006 Jeep Commander stalled 3 times in the 10 months of ownership. 2 out of the 3 stallings were on a heavy traffic interstate in atlanta, GA. Events leading up to failure included driving approximately 65 miles an hour, a/c powered on failure, and its consequences resulted in engines turning off completely, and requiring a full restart. Cars going the same speed as myself 65 mph)were swerving to miss me. To correct the failure Jeep gave engine a software upgrade, and stated that should fix the problem. The service manager stated that he would not guarantee the service performed. It was only my life at stake, right?? I filed a formal legal complaint to Chrysler to get out of my lease.
