Jeep will not start. It displays transmission over temp for a split second as you turn on the key. The Jeep sat overnight in the driveway before trying to start it the next morning, and it did not start.

My car leaks during rain from the sunroof to the blue hose drain and flooded my car. Which messed up the electrical system. I'm having problems with my car saying it's over heating but it's not it's the electrical system telling the computer in car that it's how when its not and now my transmission is messed up we think. My car is currently at Jeep dealer in cerritos, CA for 2 days now and no one can tell me what wrong.

The 2007 Jeep Commander I own is having a fuel pump relay issue. It will not start but continuously turns over also we have had the car stall out on the highway at high speeds making it a rather dangerous situation. Many of the vehicles from 07 and up had a recall for this exact reason but unfortunately mine was not covered under this recall. I am certain that this is my issue but the manufacturer has refused to do anything to fix the problem without paying an arm and a leg.

I bought my vehicle at a Nissan dealership and didn't know that it leaked into the cabin on the driver's side foot well because of the drain tubes for the sunroof. I took it in they said it was fixed but the very next time it rained it was soaked again and by then I found out what is really going on with the vehicle. It's not that I don't want to be a good consumer and not make any waves, but I don't want to keep paying for a leaking vehicle, and don't know what to do. What happens if I go to step out of the vehicle and slip and fall, I have feet ankle problems as it is and it's detrimental to my health should that happen.
My fobik key is getting stuck in the own position and will not let me take the key out without unplugging the battery.

Intermittent inability to start vehicle. My Jeep Commander 2006 has a problem that is being discussed all over the internet in chat rooms and blogs but is not being acknowledged by Jeep. The issue occurred when Jeep was in parked position. I am a disabled man and I was left stranded in very cold weather for two hours with a car that would not start. It had nothing to do with the starter, or the solenoid. This seems to be a serious issue with Jeeps and a safety issue to the owner especially if the owner is stranded and has no heat and unable to walk to get help. I am requesting NHTSA to look into this because Jeep is stonewalling the public and this is a serious and dangerous issue that the public should be aware of by way of a recall. People rely upon their automobiles and expect them to operate accordingly and not to have random and intermittent engine non starts for no apparent reason and with no explanation from Jeep and no solution to the problem going on 9 years now. Please investigate this widespread problem known to be an issue with Jeep Commander.
Under heavy rain, the vehicle leaks on the inside to the point of a big puddle in the floor of the driver side while stationary. This has also caused a problem with my cruise control and on-screen nav it now goes on and off displaying the Jeep logo as if the car was just starting up and I am in the middle of driving.
My 2009 Jeep Commander stalled and finally cut off while driving. Everything completely shuts down and have to restart the engine immediately. It has happened 4 times now in approximately last four months. This condition has happened twice while my daughter was driving, and twice while my wife was driving. It is at random, and at different speeds of 35mph to 45mph on a city street. So frightening. The vehicle was purchased used in August of 2010 with 38+k miles on it. It has 141000mile now. I have replaced the ignition key a few months age. I have made an appointment to take it to the dealership. Any suggestions on what might cause this to happen? my wife is not driving the Jeep anymore. Last incident was on 10/1/2018.
Consumer writes in regard to amending/extending 10 year rule which requires automakers to only supply part for 10 years.
The vehicle door handles do not function on any of the four doors. They all have the same defect and the only way to exit the vehicle is to let the window down if you are able to and unlock the door from the outside. This is a safety issue when the vehicle is smoking, fire, etc. , and passengers are unable to get out of vehicle. This is a defect with this vehicle. .
While driving my car will start to hard idle and then sometimes shut off at red lights or stop signs also one driving it all the sudden shut off and I'll lose all control of the vehicle and have the pull the e break just to stop the vehicle I've taken it to an authorized Jeep dealer over the past few years to try and fix the problem and they haven't been able find anything but I'm not the only 1 with these complaints there are 1000's of people having the same problems.
Car stalls out when driving or taking turns. Also stalls out when car is warming up and nobody is in the car several times. I can feel when I'm driving it also restats it self when I step on the gas pedal.
I was driving on public street an the gas pedal stuck the Jeep died I turned it back on when I took my boot off the break the Jeep excelled before I put my foot on the gas pedal then I put my foot on the pedal and it excelled really fast and got stuck then died. It has happened several times. When it excels by its self it goes really fast if you don't have a good grip on the string wheel it will get out of control.
Driver's door handle broke making it very hard to get out! very dangerous in the case of a emergency!!.
Jeep keeps stalling when backing out of driveway and while at idle or at stop sign on city streets.
My wife was driving the Jeep on 11-26-17 and she had the heater on. She felt her right leg getting really hot down by the gas peddle. When she got home she pulled up her pants leg and she saw that her leg had a bad blister on it. She did not have this before she drove the car. The heat from the floor vent was on her side burned her leg through her clothing. See pictures. I measured the temperature coming out of that vent with the heater running and it is 156. 9f see picutre.
I was driving down the freeway and the engine down shifted hard and the engine light came on. I pulled over, turned my vehicle off, turned my vehicle back on, and it drove just fine. I went to get the engine light checked and the code that came back was the map sensor. I just replaced the map sensor two months prior.
I was driving down the road and the vehicle down shifted hard and the engine light came on. I pulled over turned my vehicle off and turned it back on and it started and drove just fine.
For some reason off and on since we have owned the Jeep bought it new we have had occurrences when the vehicle wouldn't start. Just in 2016 we had to replace the solenoid and the starter. Now in 2017 having to do it again. The problem is when the solenoid gets to hot the truck doesn't want to start after running for a while. And also having issues with the esp bas lights coming on which has to be electrical. I was told to contact you since many other Chrysler owners and Jeep owners have had the same issues. Thank you.
I was driving at a steady pace on the freeway and the engine light came on. I pulled over and the power steering went out as well as the brakes. I turned off my vehicle, restarted it, and was able to drive with no problems afterwards.
I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden the engine light turned on and my rpms dropped to zero. I pulled over, the power steering went out and the ability to brake went out. I turned the vehicle off and on and then it was fine, however, the engine light was still on. There were no codes when I went to a mechanic five minutes after the incident. This is the second time this has happened.
Interior door handle on passenger side crumbled. The lever hangs loose and you are unable to open the door and exit using the handle. Someone has to open the door from outside. The vehicle was parked with a passenger trying to exit. The driver side now has play in the handle and I suspect it will not be long before it crumbles as well. I contacted the dealership about a repair kit and was told that Jeep only had a kit for another vehicle and I would have to replace the entire door panel for $350. 00+. 3 pictures attached. Broken handle, broken pieces, and driver handle intact.
I drive and stop the Jeep. When I turn it on and put it on direct it shifts to 3rd gear automatically. I have to turn off the Jeep, disconnect the battery in order to drive. And this happens over and over again. Took the car to the dealer and no code was revealed and they couldn't fix. Took it to other auto parts and the same result came out when the hook it up to the computer. No code. I have found this exact problem mentioned on multiple Jeep forum sites mentioning code p0700 transmission control system. This is malfunctioning in a unsafe manner and I was told it hasn't been recalled yet. Don't you have enough complaints on this that Chrysler should be doing a recall?.
My car all of the sudden wouldn't turn on, it said damaged key, the key is fine, it unlocks and locks without a problem, but the car wont start. I've been told is the win.
While the vehicle was stationary and off, I am unable to start the car. All lights work properly, and the battery is new & working. After hitting the starter with a wrench, the vehicle started. This continues to happen.
Over the past several years, all four interior door handles have broken. The damage occurred with nothing more than normal usage. The breakage has left all doors incredibly difficult to open. This breakage could slow an occupants ability to exit the vehicle in an emergency situation. I have seen many other owners of Jeeps complaining of the same issue. I feel Jeep should be made aware of this apparent design flaw and owners should be provided compensation for the repair.
Jeep complaint case # 31436177. I am having a no crank no start issue with bogus error message that reads transmission over temp. I have taken the vehicle to three different places and no one can identify why the vehicle will not start or find anything wrong with the transmission or wiring. . . . . . . That is causing this issue. The Jeep started having this issue intermittently in February 2017 and now it will not start at all as of April 2017. Electrical mechanic is baffled and can not find any thing wrong with the Jeep even though it does not start at all anymore. Since February 2017 after this issue started I have had the computer updated to fix the problem, I have had the ignition switch replaced to solve this problem, I have had the transmission cooler lines and transmission fluid changed out to fix this problem and still the vehicle will not start intermittently and now will not start at all as of a week and a half ago. I was also told that it might be the key not being recognized by the Jeep and would need to be reprogrammed but this is not the issue either. This is not the first issue I have had with this vehicle either. I also had the wiring harness catch fire inside the driver side door boot shortly after purchasing the vehicle that caused windows, locks. . . . . . . Not to function and have had numerous issues with water pouring in from drains from the sunroof flooding the vehicle and ruining the carpet on both the driver and passenger side of the vehicle also causing a mold smell.
When driving on freeway at high speeds the car shuts off and then back on again, when it happens the engine stumbles and the engine warning light comes on for a second and then back off. It makes for a dangerous condition. No codes come up though. Took it to the dealership and they put a new ignition key switch in but it still has the problem, they say there is no recalls.
On christmas I backed the Jeep out of the driveway so I could drive my truck. Bumped the curb slightly while parking and vehicle died. Started right back up so I didn't think much of it. Today my wife took the kids to school in it and ran fine. Parked for two hours and went to start and it will crank but not turn over. Fuel guage doesn't read correctly. At full it says half a tank and while you are driving it may drop to below empty with a full tank. I have been reading all the reports about the 2006 Commander and a lot of people seem to be having this starting problem. I haul my family around in it because we can't all fit in my truck but I don't feel safe in it because you never know when it's gonna cut out and die. My kids range from 1 week to 11 and I don't really want them in it. I'm thinking it a fuel pump or wiring issue. Both issues occurred in my driveway or right in front of my house.
Problem with ignition switch causes dash not to work and car not to be able to start most of time. Key does not stay in proper position in ignition. Vehicle is stationary and in motion when this happens while driving on city streets.
2006 Jeep Commander 4x4 dies at low speed. Almost caused accident on freeway. Had the ignition recall taken care of. Hoping that it was the problem. It was not. . . Now trying to sell vehicle and don't want to cuz I would have to have someone else get hurt. In that death trap the Jeep now sits in my side yard my wife refuses to drive it. I'm looking for any ideas on what to do? please help.
Every single door handle in the Jeep broke under normal use somewhat able to open from inside, but a very big safty hazards when my kids or passengers cannot open the door from the inside. Kinda scary when you think about it. Slightly after revieving my used Jeep one door handle after the other breaks upon bumping into handle.
Chrysler Jeep ,my wife and I are die hard Jeep customers. Our 06 Commander is a safety problem!! all interior door handles are broke. The rear interior door handles will not open the doors at all. Making it unsafe for any passengers, especially our children. Help me make our 06 Jeep Commander safe again recall these handles for public safety. . . . . . .
Vehicle stalls for no reason. Usually happens when pulling from my driveway after being parked. After driving for a few hundred yards, to the intersection of the main road. Upon hitting the brake and stopping, the vehicle stalled. If I had rolled into the intersection, I would have been right on a main road without engine running. No warning, it just stalls. I had thought it might be the ignition switch, but that was replaced already, and this happened again. This happens almost in the same place and situations every time. I start the vehicle, and without much delay, back out of my driveway. Pull down the street, make a right turn after about 40 yards. Make a left turn after about 100 yards. Then move forward to the stop sign at the main intersection about 80 yards further. Upon stopping, the vehicle stalls. It's happened about 10 times in the past 3 years, and twice in the past week. It surely is a danger, because I lose power and could roll into an intersection or cause another hazard.
Engine stalls at highway speeds.
