Six problems related to sway bar have been reported for the 2007 Jeep Compass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The hole frame is rusted and broke up front. Ball joints are popping and not bad. The sway bars are popping and not bad. Reading brakes but are good. But all in all frame bad rusted out and busted.
While moving , every bump or crack in road created a rattle and thud and would vibrarate though steering column. Went to repair garage and was shown rusted crossmember barely holding together. Plus sway bar broke loose from rusted area.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Jeep Compass. While driving various speeds, the front driver's side tire made a loud grinding noise. There were no warning indicators illuminated prior to the failure. The contact pulled the vehicle over and had it towed to westborn Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (23300 michigan Ave, dearborn, mi 48124, (877) 295-7806). The contact was advised that there were no recalls on the vehicle and there was a dealer bulletin for the sway bar and the crosspins, which needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 200,000.
Subfame is falling apart rotted from a/c drip valve ! sway bar no longer connected to subframe! bad design of Jeep Compass 07 subfame !!!.
2007 Jeep Compass. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle k-frame replacement/repairs due to corrosion- repairs were performed before consumer was notified of extended warranty for corrosion problems. The inner tie rod end and front sway bar link were replaced.
Entire suspension system is nothing but junk. Replaced tie rod ends, inner and outer, ball joints, sway bar links, struts, hubs and axle. Some of these parts more than once. The tire came dangerously close to falling off the vehicle with less than 24 hr notice that something was wrong. Failed inspection last year for tie rod end that was replaced previous year. Chrysler will not budge on taking responsibility for what my mechanic calls "junk". Does someone have to die before they react??.
