Brake Light On Problems of Jeep Compass

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving 55 mph, the brake warning light illuminated. The vehicle independently decelerated to 30 mph. The contact's daughter continued driving without further issue. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle and stated that the front and rear k-frame was severely rusted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Today my car stopped (again) in the middle of the road as I was driving and the emergency brake light went on. This is the third time that this has happened to me and I am literally scared out of mind to drive this car that I purchased for my birthday. I've only had the car for 6 months and this is a major safety hazard.

I was stopped at a red light, lght turned green and went to press the gas to go thru the light but car stalled and brake light came on. Car behind me almost ran into me and had to swerve to miss me. I had to turn the entire car off at the light, push the emergency brake system a few times until tge light went off before I could proceed through the light. This happened 6-7 additional times before I took it back to the dealership. The dealorship serviced the car 1 week prior and said noting was found on the diagnostic test. Car has stopped, just quit while driving and braking system light comes on. It happens when parked and at a red light or trying to move forward or while driving. Very scary.

My car emergency brake light button has turned on all byitself while I am driving. The car stops and shuts off. Then I am in the middle of the road and I have to put my car in park, press the pull on p button to turn it off. This is a safety issue. A car behind can crash into me. This has happened 5 times since February, this morning was my 6 time. I do not feel safe in my car anymore, afraid of turning off while I am driving.

Did not know that was a recall on thecatalytic converter they fix it they had the part in im woudering about the antilock brakes because my brake light comes on and the ads light because courtesy dodgejeep ram in conyers GA is charging me about 800. 00 hundred dollars plus 190. 00 for a battery I can't afford that. My car was on a city street when the brake light and abs light came on I thought the brake fluild was low courtesy Dodge said that it was ready before I could drive the Jeep off the lot the brake light came back on. Then they said it was the battery, now they telling me antilock brakes. I cannot afford to pay 1,190. 00 dollars.

Stop system that stops the car at red lights for fuel econom. My car would all of the sudden accelerate without my putting foot on gas peddle. Took to dealer. He said there was a known issue with it, and wiped the memory and did an update . My concern is that when it did this I almost got into an accident with another car in front of me. It accelerated so fast I almost lost control too. When they test drove it they couldn't find anything wrong. But when they hooked it up to find any error codes they found 2. That's when they discovered the problem. My biggest concern is that they said it was a kniwn issue yet no recall to bring my car in for the updated fix. Hadvi not been trained for situations like this I or someone else could have gotten killed. The vehicle was in motion going down hill I was riding the brake because of the hill. When I had let up off the brake slightly that's when it accelerated so fast I almost lost control.

The abs brake lights came on as well as the skid warning light when I started the car. About 30 seconds later as I was driving straight at about 25 mph down the street, there was a loud clicking sound and the brakes locked up and the steering wheel locked up too. Or possibly could have been the transmission that locked up. I can't be sure. But it is safe to say the entire care locked up leaving me unable to steer or maneuver the car in any manner. I waited a few minutes and the lights went off and I was able to get the car back home. I waited a couple of hours and started the car again and the abs and skid light came back on. The car is a 2014 Jeep Compass.

The brake light switch shorted out causing the brake lights to fail, transmission to shift incorrectly (stuck in wrong gear), and melt electrical wires inside the dashboard. The first symptom was the vehicle would not shift out of park. This can be overridden with a release switch. While driving the vehicle to the dealership for repair, the brakes light failed to engage when the brake pedal was pushed as well as causing extremely poor performance from the transmission. The transmission would not shift properly, which caused speed and control instability. Due to the electrical short in the brake light module, it caused several additional wires to overheat and melt. I have serious concerns for anyone else this happens to. I believe there is a serious design flaw that would allow a faulty brake light switch to hinder the operation of the vehicle in such a way that could cause serious injury or death. Why did the short not blow a fuse? typically, that should happen with an electrical short. Please investigate.
