Sway Bar Problems of Jeep Compass

The vehicle will randomly shut down while driving. Interior electrical stops working first. This has happened on a highway and on a town side street. The strut and sway bar linkage have gone bad and need to be replaced.

My front subframe /crossmember is rusted and has holes part of the frame snaped where sway bar is should a part that called frame whether a sub frame or not should last.

The hole frame is rusted and broke up front. Ball joints are popping and not bad. The sway bars are popping and not bad. Reading brakes but are good. But all in all frame bad rusted out and busted.

While driving I got a code on the car dash that read something like �unable to drive� then as turning the bend in road at 20/25mph the car started pulling to left steering the wheel became too hard and I heard a snap noise turns out my ball joint snapped on the Jeep! over 5000 in damage and it was not due to impact! it snapped clean off then ended up causing my to swop a parked car. Thankfully wasn't on highway your 2017 Compasses have severe electrical issues the car doesn't go right away when shifted to desired gear and on top of it all your ball joints are faulty! claim responsibility and recall this I've seen a lot of open source reporting of the same issue. Please do not wait until a mortality occurs for you to do something! assemble these care correctly!!! I will not be buying or driving another Jeep again the new model Compasses aren't safe for anyone. Oddly prior to the accident the car has been at jim shorkey dealership every 2 months or so for some repair from sway bars to tire rods and everything else. Less than 26,000 miles on it. Scheduled an appt to take it to the dealer last Thursday the appointment was scheduled for Tuesday 3/17 but the accident ended up occurring 3/14. . . Only if the dealer had let me bring it sooner this wouldn't have happened.

While moving , every bump or crack in road created a rattle and thud and would vibrarate though steering column. Went to repair garage and was shown rusted crossmember barely holding together. Plus sway bar broke loose from rusted area.

My front/rear crossmembers are rusted badly and sway bar rusted off. I bought this from a private seller in end of 2016,I was just informed from mienieke about the issue and that there is a 10 year recall on this. I went to dealership and they said recall warranty exp may 2018. I was never informed in a timely manner about the recall to get it fixed. This is my only car from my two children and myself. I need this fixed,I cannot afford a new car as I'm disabled and cant work anymore. Please help me. Please. This isnt fair I want informed about this. I should've got the recall as the new owner. Tl the contact owns a 2007 Jeep Compass. While driving various speeds, the front driver's side tire made a loud grinding noise. There were no warning indicators illuminated prior to the failure. The contact pulled the vehicle over and had it towed to westborn Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (23300 michigan Ave, dearborn, mi 48124, (877) 295-7806). The contact was advised that there were no recalls on the vehicle and there was a dealer bulletin for the sway bar and the crosspins, which needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 200,000.

The subframe or k-frame of the vehicle is rotted out and the sway bars broke away from the vehicle. Cause popping and cracking when driving (in motion).

Subfame is falling apart rotted from a/c drip valve ! sway bar no longer connected to subframe! bad design of Jeep Compass 07 subfame !!!.

2007 Jeep Compass. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle k-frame replacement/repairs due to corrosion- repairs were performed before consumer was notified of extended warranty for corrosion problems. The inner tie rod end and front sway bar link were replaced.

Clunking noise in front end . Took it to the dealer. Lower control arms and ball joints needed to be replaced, rear shocks were leaking rear sway bar need to be replaced. Was never of road! needs a new front end at 65000 miles?.

Upon state inspection it was noted that k frame was rusted through resulting in replacement of same and lf control arm assy front sway bar links-repair costs $1617. 88. K frame was a major issue in 2007 Compass resulting in gov't action-my 2008 was built in 12/07. Chrysler wont stand behind problem. 2007 gov't action started with a complaint. I hope I can start this one. Vehicle was purchased new in 2008 by one adult driver age 50 (my wife). Suspension has always been a problem starting with new tie rod ends @ 14,000 miles under warranty.

Entire suspension system is nothing but junk. Replaced tie rod ends, inner and outer, ball joints, sway bar links, struts, hubs and axle. Some of these parts more than once. The tire came dangerously close to falling off the vehicle with less than 24 hr notice that something was wrong. Failed inspection last year for tie rod end that was replaced previous year. Chrysler will not budge on taking responsibility for what my mechanic calls "junk". Does someone have to die before they react??.
