The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the gear shift selector bezel fractured, making the shifter difficult to maneuver. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the dealer advised that the bezel could either be replaced or glued. The contact called the manufacturer and filed a complaint. The failure mileage was 90,000. The VIN was not available.

2 Automatic Transmission Floor Shift problem

Failure Date: 05/07/2010

The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While attempting to park, the gear shift lever would not move to the park position because the dust cover broke into pieces. The contact shifted into neutral and used the emergency brake to park. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were approximately 64,000.
