1 Electrical Failure problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2008

The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that her vehicle shut completely off while idling at a stop light. She drifted slowly across the median and was able to restart the vehicle after approximately five minutes. The dealer kept the vehicle for a few days and stated that there was electrical failure. The failure occurred without warning. The failure mileage was 36,000.

2 Electrical Failure problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2007

The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact was driving approximately 65 mph when the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted and began to function normally. In addition, the entire electrical system would not function which included the instrument panel and temperature gauges. The failures occurred intermittently and became progressively worse over time. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where a diagnostic test was performed. The technician was unable to identify the electrical problem. The manufacturer stated that they would conduct a research regarding the electrical failure and follow up with the contact. The contact stated that the manufacturer had not been responsive to him concerning the safety defects when the complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 30,000.
