The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the entire instrument panel illuminated as the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the wiring in instrument panel and the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact noticed water entering the vehicle through the sunroof. The water entered the driver's side of the instrument panel and dampened the front floor of the vehicle. The failure caused the interment panel components (radio), as well as the driver and passenger side windows to not work properly for days at a time. The contact discovered this failure approximately 2-3 weeks after purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle has been to the dealer more than twelve times for this issue. The dealer finally concluded that nothing was wrong with the vehicle and it was designed to work in that manner. There was no remedy available. The contact has a video and pictures available.
