The vehicle has abruptly lost power and shut down while driving. This has happened while pulling out to cross traffic at intersections which have nearly caused an accident from the vehicle abruptly losing power in the middle of the intersection. The emergency braking system has also activated without any obstructions in front of the vehicle resulting in vehicles behind me nearly hitting me. The vehicle's four wheel drive system has also been inoperable with no parts available from Jeep to remedy this specific issue.

The vehicle is not charging to full capacity. I brought it to the dealership, and they informed me there is no available solution. This issue is extremely concerning, as the car poses a fire risk even when turned off. Very concerning: the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is affected by multiple active safety recalls, primarily related to the plug-in hybrid system. The most significant one involving fire risk (NHTSA recall 24v-720 / Chrysler recall 95b) covers 2022–2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe models (among others). This stems from potential internal failure in the high-voltage battery pack, which can lead to fires even when parked or driving.

My vehicle is subject to active recall 68c involving high-voltage battery fire risk in Jeep 4xe vehicles. Manufacturer has confirmed recall applies to this vehicle, but no remedy is currently available. I have been instructed to limit charging and parking due to risk of thermal event/fire. This creates an ongoing safety risk to myself, family, my home, nearby properties and others. My vehicle remains in use without a permanent fix.
This is a follow-up to my previous complaint. My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues to show safety-related system failures that have not been addressed by the dealership or stellantis. The main new issue is a malfunction in the regenerative charging system. I have this feature turned off, yet the vehicle continues to engage regenerative charging while driving. This indicates a failure in the system’s control logic. I am also experiencing intermittent aeb system warnings. The aeb warning light activates randomly during normal driving with no obstacles present, creating uncertainty about whether the system will operate properly when needed. I reported these new issues to the dealership, but they stated they cannot schedule service until after christmas and cannot provide a loaner vehicle. Stellantis has also not offered a solution. I am forced to continue driving a vehicle with malfunctioning safety and braking-related systems. This is an unresolved and escalating safety defect that requires investigation and immediate manufacturer action.
While driving my vehicle on the highway, the steering wheel locked up and it put itself into neutral. The abs system notification and another light was active and my Jeep stated my vehicle was going too fast for the gear it was in. The abs breaking system bypassed the nss safety feature in my Jeep causing me to go off the road as a I lost all control of the steering in my vehicle. Upon a check by the mechanic, I had faulty wiring in the wiring harness which they cannot replace because the part is no longer made. My Jeep is only a 2015. I went off the road because there was poor weather - it was snowing out and my vehicle would not respond to any gear resulting in my turning the vehicle off. My Jeep was towed to the dealership for diagnosis. I have not picked up my Jeep yet due to the dealership schedule but have attached the communication with them concerning the problems.

I was driving down the interstate with my two babies in the car seats and all of a sudden all of the dash lights came on, and the power steering locked up. I was driving 70 miles per hour and had to pry my wheel as hard as I could to be able to pull over on the side of the interstate. Once I pulled over I turned the car off hoping it would reset whatever happened and the car was completely dead. It would not crank at all. I ended up having to call someone to come get me and my kids off the side of the interstate and tow the car to the dealership. This car has less than 70,000 miles on it and still is not fixed. It has been at the dealership for over 3 weeks with what they are telling me is electrical issues. I do not feel comfortable driving this car anymore as it is a safety hazard and could have gotten me and my children killed.

Vehicle recall for potential fire risk if charging vehicle battery, was informed by email from Jeep that the vehicle is not safe to drive. No solutions given.
2 outstanding recalls on the vehicle. Taken in for repair, told there is no available solution for either recall. No rental provided. Now driving a vehicle that could catch fire.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact was informed by the dealer that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 25v741000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, and the dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.
I am reporting unresolved safety issues involving multiple open recalls on my Jeep vehicle, including a high-voltage battery recall and an engine recall with no available remedy. Jeep has advised owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from structures or other vehicles due to fire risk, yet also states that owners may continue driving the vehicle. However, the vehicle automatically regenerates battery charge during normal driving even when regenerative braking is turned off. This behavior was not explained in the recall notice and creates confusion about how to safely operate the vehicle while complying with the “do not recharge” guidance. I am also experiencing intermittent automatic emergency braking (aeb) warning alerts, which raises additional safety concerns while driving under recall conditions. Another open recall related to the engine currently has no available remedy and has been unresolved for an extended period of time. Despite the safety nature of these recalls, Jeep has declined to provide a loaner vehicle. Jeep customer care states loaners are at dealership discretion, while dealerships state they have not received authorization from Jeep. Jeep has instead directed me to an out-of-pocket rental reimbursement program that requires the customer to front rental costs for an unknown duration, which is not financially feasible. I am concerned about being instructed to continue operating a vehicle with known safety risks, conflicting guidance, warning alerts, and no reasonable accommodation while remedies remain unavailable.

Complaint summary: 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe — battery fire risk recall, instructed not to charge the vehicle, not to park near structures, and no repair available. Description: my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is under multiple safety recalls, including a serious battery fire risk. Jeep is telling owners not to charge the battery, not to park the vehicle near structures or anything that could catch fire, and that there is no repair available. This removes the primary functionality of the vehicle and creates a significant safety hazard. My wife is currently pregnant, and we are extremely concerned about the risk of a vehicle fire at our home. We have spent thousands of dollars on this vehicle, and it cannot be used as intended or stored safely. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate and hold the manufacturer accountable for providing an immediate resolution.
Vehicle is subject to recalls 68c (fire risk) and 78c (loss of propulsion). Manufacturer states remedy is 'not yet available. ' I am instructed not to charge the battery and to park away from structures. I cannot safely park the vehicle at my home or use the electric propulsion I am paying for. The vehicle presents an immediate fire hazard and risk of catastrophic engine failure on public roads.
2 current recalls on my vehicle 68c and 78c are life threatening and the vehicle may catch on fire. Visiting the dealer today 12/6 - there is no solution for either. This vehicle is unsafe and the manufacturer is not providing any solution or alternative. I would expect either a solution/ a loaner or a buyback.
My right side suspension has a hard time coming up and I can hear it then it eventually get to right level and my car is freaking out have every light come on and the windshield wipers but it doesn't always do it but I have videos. The codes I get say malfunctional control u1403 and other ones.

I received safety recall 68c for my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe stating that the high-voltage battery may become damaged during normal operation and could lead to a vehicle fire. Fca instructs owners not to recharge the vehicle and states that no remedy is currently available. In addition to the recall, I am experiencing a major safety issue inside the vehicle. The rear driver-side passenger seat (directly above the high-voltage battery) becomes extremely hot during normal driving, hot enough that my family members cannot sit there comfortably. The heat is abnormal and appears to be coming from the battery area. I have small children who ride in this vehicle, and I no longer feel it is safe to transport them. Fca has no fix for the known battery defect, and the combination of internal heat from the seat and the fire-risk warning significantly impairs the safety and usability of the vehicle. Fca advises owners to avoid charging, but this makes the vehicle unusable for its intended purpose as a plug-in hybrid. I am requesting NHTSA involvement because this appears to be a serious battery overheating and potential fire hazard affecting the passenger cabin. Please investigate. I need guidance, as the manufacturer cannot repair the defect, and I am concerned for the safety of my family. If there’s no cure to this problem, please ask fca to purchase the vehicle back from me. It’s a three year lease and I have about six months left on it.
My Jeep does not charge when plugged in. I've had it at the dealership 6 times in the past 2 years and they are unable to fix this. There is a current recall. I am advised to not charge the vehicle, don't park near structures, don't park near other cars. I have no street parking in the village of fairport during winter. I'm a teacher at an elementary school and there's no where to park away from other cars. I took my Jeep to the dealership after stellantis approved rental reimbursement until a fix for the recall was developed. Rental reimbursement approval is in 30 day increments. I submitted my receipt to stellantis for reimbursement as instructed. It's been over a month and I have no reimbursement check. I'm am not out over $2000. Waiting for my preapproved rental reimbursement. I turned my rental in and picked up my Jeep from the dealership for fear of never being reimbursed for the rental. I am now driving an unsafe vehicle that is being parked next to my home and near cars and busses at school wear I teach. I have email records of all communication with stellantis/Jeep us customer care.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v741000 (electrical system); however, the part for the recall repair was not available. The contact was concerned about the vehicle catching on fire due to the unrepaired recall. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 50 mph, the vehicle lost motive power. The driver was able to pull over to the side of the road. There was no warning light illuminated. The driver was able to restart the vehicle after approximately 30 minutes, and the driver resumed driving. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v741000 (electrical system) and 25v766000 (engine), and related the failure to the recalls; however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown software update was performed, and the contact was advised not to use the hybrid system of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start intermittently, made abnormal clicking sounds, and was glitching. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 16,000.
I will be going 50-65 mph down the highway and my Jeep will just die. It will die for about 10-15 seconds then start again. This is very dangerous. I have talked to multiple people that this has happened too.

The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, and they confirmed they cannot repair recalls 68c, 73c, or 78c because the manufacturer has not provided any remedy or parts. No warning lamps appeared before the recall, but the vehicle is now classified as a fire risk and cannot be charged. The dealership is holding the vehicle because they cannot safely release it back to me due to the high-voltage battery safety hazard. Stellantis has failed to offer any repair timeline, and I believe this is a serious safety issue requiring NHTSA intervention.
Vehicle purchased 05/27/2025 6/6/2025 - 9 days after purchasing the vehicle I was left stranded in the parking lot due to the battery issues. The vehicle showed a warning stating to "service charging system" and the entire system locked out and the vehicle was towed to to the dealer for evaluation and was there for over a week. When I received the car back they stated it was just the battery and not the charging system/hybrid system. 12/03/25 - while driving on the freeway, warning lights started coming up and the seat belt bell started going off even though everyone was buckled. Then my power steering was disabled, the abs system was disabled and the breaks stiffened, lane assist was disabled, the airbags were disabled, and the sos calling, and the engine shut off. When trying to change lanes we had to use extreme force to turn the wheel and the emergency lights wouldn't engage when the button was pressed. Due to the brakes being stiff beyond reason it took us passing 3 freeway exits to slow down enough to force the car off of the road. I had my children in the car and was terrified I was going to be in a crash or worse, lose control and veer off of the road. When I was able to pull off of the freeway, I was not able to drive as the car was continuing to shut off every few feet. I had to have my vehicle towed home and they next day when driving it to the dealer it was still without power steering, the abs system, airbags, the brake pedal was extremely stiff and the seatbelt bells were going off even though I had my seatbelt on from first getting into the car. Myself, my fiancé and our children's live were put at risk due to this vehicle failure. I picked my car up from the dealer today 12/5/2025 and they advised this was an issue with a connector that was replaced but the entire system had to be reset. I would also like to include that the vehicle now has an open recall that has no remedy and the dealer/mfr. Have yet to provide any updates.

The anti-lock braking system and the electronic traction control system are both failing. There were previous recalls on both systems that say they have been repaired, but the lights for both are constantly on. The brakes do not work fully, and it has caused me to slide down the street from my workplace. The electronic traction control system not working has caused it so that my four-wheel drive does not work, and I have gotten stuck in the snow multiple times. The car has been inspected by a repair technician. The warning lights came on right as the problem was happening.

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN [xxx] ) is affected by two separate federal safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery: recall 95b / NHTSA 24v-720 and the newly issued recall 68c / NHTSA 25v-741. Both recalls warn of a potential vehicle fire and instruct owners to stop recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures and other vehicles due to fire risk. These warnings appear directly in the recall notices I received. Recall 95b / NHTSA 24v-720 states that the battery pack may contain cells susceptible to separator damage which, combined with internal cell interactions, may lead to a vehicle fire. Owners are advised not to recharge and to park away from structures. Recall 68c / NHTSA 25v-741 states that under normal vehicle operation, the high-voltage battery may become damaged and lead to a vehicle fire, again instructing owners not to recharge and to park away from structures. These are virtually identical safety defects occurring back-to-back in the same high-voltage battery system. The 68c recall states explicitly that no remedy is currently available and there is no eta, leaving me with a vehicle that cannot safely be parked at my home, charged, or operated as intended. I am now unable to use the hybrid/electric functionality at all, despite paying a premium for a plug-in hybrid vehicle. I am forced to operate the vehicle only in degraded gasoline mode with significantly reduced functionality and safety. The ongoing fire risk, inability to recharge, and requirement to park away from cars and buildings create a daily hardship and significant safety concern for my family. This is a serious safety defect affecting the same critical system twice in less than a year, and with no available remedy the vehicle remains unsafe to charge, unsafe to park near structures, and unable to function as advertised. I am requesting NHTSA review due to repeated fire-risk recalls, lack of a repair, and the substantial ongoing safety risk. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of informatio.
How many recalls does one vehicle get in 2 years of ownership get before they take car back? this is the absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned at $64,100 price tag. We went through this battery recall last year at this time and could not use hybrid system for 5 months and had to park outside until recall was performed and god forbid you take grandkids anywhere in it, and with all the countless other problems that are so speratic they cannot fix. Recall number 95b, when weather was finally warm enough for them to perform the diagnostics on it, it was deemed okay. Now I get another recall for same thing and once again it is a fire hazard again and no fix is available according to recall info. So people are suppose to drive around in a $64,100 vehicle that could go on fire and cannot park in garage or use hybrid system for its intended use. Tonight s weather is suppose to be -10 degrees f in iowa and we keep having problems with the heater blowing cold air and have taken it to dealership for total of 10 days trying to figure this problem out with no resolve yet. When does someone finally say is enough is enough? they have had my Jeep in their dealership 34 days total not counting recalls trying to resolve why the power steering goes out and all safety devices are offline and nnobody can resolve these issues so it is a total crap shoot every time you start it up! the fire hazard thing really bothers me being a past fireman and nobody seems to care, just park your car away from flammable material and structure, are you kidding me! what happens when you have kids and grandkids in this car? somebody ha to help us! internet is flooded with these problems with Jeep 4xe. Please help us out of this situation because stellantis and dealerships do not care! you want your family riding this crap when heat does not work and windows fog over or start on fire while your driving or its sitting in driveway while you sleep? I tried to lemon law this last year so I have 70 plus docume.
The car keeps saying the turn signals are out when they all function properly. The car is equipped with the led factory headlight systems. When it thinks the bulb is out it makes everything flash or turn off so other drivers can’t see your signal. Several other users are also reporting issues online. Dealer says the only way to fix is an entirely new head light assembly at $1300 since the turn signal bulbs are built into the headlight and should be a lifetime part.

Driving home and car had a sudden loss of power randomly while driving. It would not restart until 5-10 minutes later despite multiple start/stop attempts. On the screen it stated to “plug in to condition battery. ” we were in the left lane on a busy road with construction and were almost rear ended multiple times while car was not functional. Have had multiple issues with battery on this 4xe - did recent software update at dealer. I have taken it to dealer previously for battery code (service battery) and they stated they can see code, but unsure of what problem is. No warning lights prior to incident. It sounds like through reviewing on internet this is a common problem with 4xe vehicles and if it hasn’t killed someone yet, it certainly will. We did call 911 for assistance due to the vehicle being disabled in middle of highway, but no official report was made.
Yesterday, I had been traveling on the turnpike and was attempting to merge back on from a rest area when the Jeep entered "turtle" or "limp" mode without warning, indicating a failure of the hybrid system. The speed dropped instantly to 2mph and the engine kept revving, generating dark exhaust and a concerning smell (hot, different from regular vehicle exhaust smell). Eventually I was able to move back into the parking area and needed to be towed. I have yet to have it evaluated by a dealership as they are closed today. Following multiple previous hybrid system recalls since purchasing the vehicle oct 2022, I've experienced numerous malfunctions of the hybrid system (taking it to the dealership multiple times to be evaluated after the "wrench" service hybrid electric system warning showed) over the last 6 months. Each time I've been told a "software reset fixed it" by the dealership. The problems with this hybrid system have been increasing in severity. Currently two recalls are in place due to these hybrid system issues (remedy not available). This was a scary, dangerous experience and I have no confidence in stellantis resolving this issue.
In the safety recall it states “do not charge,” “park away from structures,” “no remedy available“.
On 11/28/2025, I received recall notice 68c/NHTSA 25v-741, from fca us llc. The recall affects my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, pih. The recall states that the vehicle is at risk of catching fire, due to damage that may occur to the high voltage battery, during normal vehicle operation, and that there are no remedies for this condition currently available. In addition, owners are advised to refrain from. . . 1. Recharging the vehicle 2. Parking near structures 3. Parking near other vehicles unfortunately, I don't live near an open field, so numbers 2 and 3 are nearly implossible. I contacted the fce recall hotline today, and was told that someone from their "safe parking and rental car" team would be contacting me. This vehicle is leased through stellantis motors. I want a simple termination of my lease immediately, so my wife will again be able to drive her car, safely transport our grandson, and park safely in our driveway. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
