I leased this new vehicle in July 2025. Had it for a month and it wouldn't start. Premier Jeep in hyannis, MA 02601 said it was the start/stop battery and replaced it. A month later the car experienced an system failure and the car put the parking brake on and put the car in park and shut it off while I was in traffic! this time the dealer service said it was the lift gate mechanism and the on/off/start button. These have been replaced. Each incident resulted in the vehicle spending a week in the shop. I asked for a loaner but none available both times. Now the car is back in the repair shop because when I get in to start it it turns itself off right away. No loaner car was offered. I have no car now again!.
The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 35–40 mph, the engine seized. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart after several attempts. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times, including three times while driving to the dealer. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system) which was associated with the VIN. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the recall repair might not be able to be performed because of the age of the vehicle. In addition, the contact was informed that if the repair was approved by the manufacturer, the labor fee might be at the owner's expense. The contact was informed that the manufacturer needed to approve the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer made the manufacturer aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 184,111.

Recall 25v-741 (manufacturer recall 68c) affects my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The recall notice states that, due to potential high-voltage battery cell separator damage, the vehicle may catch fire even when powered off. Jeep instructs owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park inside garages or near structures. There is no remedy available, and Jeep has stated that remedy identification may not occur until q1 2026, with additional delays expected for parts and repairs. As a result of these instructions, I am unable to store the vehicle safely at my home, since my residence only has attached garage parking. My workplace garage has also prohibited these recalled vehicles from entering due to fire risk. The vehicle is currently kept at the dealership because it cannot be safely stored. Jeep’s interim support is insufficient. They offer only $60/day rental reimbursement, which does not cover a comparable vehicle, and only $50 per rental period in taxes, leaving owners with significant out-of-pocket costs while their leased vehicles cannot be used for an extended period. This places owners in the position of either paying significant out-of-pocket expenses for an unsuitable rental vehicle, or continuing to park, store, or charge their vehicles in ways that contradict Jeep’s fire-risk guidance. While the recall is not labeled as a “stop drive,” the instructions functionally prevent safe use or storage of the vehicle. I am reporting this because the current interim guidance and lack of remedy create ongoing fire risk and practical safety issues for owners with no safe place to store the vehicle and no adequate interim solution.

The vehicle's infotainment system, while being used for navigation, was hijacked while driving by an advertisement. Distracted driving is the primary cause of accidents, and my vehicle made me interact with a pop-up ad while driving. My car required me to divert my attention off the road to attend to ab advertisement on the vehicle screen.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v741000 (electrical system) and 25v766000 (engine); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
These vehicles need to be taken off the road and stellantis needs to buy them back. 4 recalls all related to fires and/or failure of propulsion at speed that can cause accidents. Now I have 2 more open recalls, one for battery fire risk and another for the gasoline engine fire risk. Both the battery and gas engine systems on this vehicle are not safe enough to drive but there is no available fix for either. If the vehicles are unsafe enough to warrant these safety recalls with no fix then they should not be on the roads and those of us that are stuck with them should have relief from the manufacturer to get rid of them.
I was driving home from work and all of a sudden I am pushing the gas pedal down but unable to go faster. I lost complete power. The car was in gas mode at the time of incident. I could not start the car or move the dial from park, neutral, etc. . . I had to get out of the car lock it, get back in and I was able to start and go straight to the dealership.

In November 2024, I went to get into my 2019 Jeep cherokee (17,000 miles). At that time, numerous lights started flashing on the vehicle dash (start-stop, stability control and check engine). I took the vehical to the nearest Jeep dealership, valor Ford in junction city. They indicated this was a known issue but unresolved by Jeep (received recall notice two weeks later). I was leaving for vacation and would be back in two weeks, rather than leave the car sit at the dealership I offered to take it home and bring it back when I returned. I was told by the technician that was not advisable because my brakes could go out. I of course decided to leave at the dealership. Upon return, they indicated my Jeep could be picked up. My husband spoke with the technician because we had received the recall notice by then and asked how they fixed the problem when Jeep had said there was no solution yet. He, the technician, indicated they had ordered the part which is the same part that went out previously so it wasn't really fixed. We have been waiting over a year, I will only drive locally because I am afraid of the ramifications of this part. Not only is it not fixed but they charged us $1,200 to not fix our car and refused reimbursement. This was our vehicle to travel in our retirement years and for the last year it has been an anchor.

Constant problems with starter engaging and not starting vehicle. This form only gave me one option for date; this has happened multiple times. This is a defective part, I went to dick scott dealership, tech wrote to check car and did not note defective starter; wanted me to pay $118 to inspect the Jeep. In the warranty jargon, it stated if it was a defective part, it would be replaced. I only have 32000 miles on the vehicle.

Complaint summary: recall 68c – high voltage battery. Vehicle cannot be charged safely and must be parked away from structures due to fire risk. No repair or diagnostic procedure is available. Description: I own a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN: 1c4rjyb62p8893644). On November 10, 2025, I was notified of recall 68c involving a risk of high-voltage battery fire. Jeep instructed me to stop charging the vehicle and to park it away from buildings. I have fully complied, which means the ev portion of the vehicle is unusable and the vehicle’s utility is significantly reduced. My dealership stated that no repair or diagnosis is currently available, and Jeep customer care confirmed the same. My case (#94692611) was escalated on November 10, but I have received no update or assistance. I requested interim support (rental or goodwill compensation) because the vehicle cannot be operated as designed, but Jeep advised that no assistance can be processed until a dealer performs a diagnosis—which is impossible because Jeep has not provided one. This situation has resulted complete loss of ev driving capability increased fuel costs inability to garage the vehicle (safety concern) diminished trade-in, resale, and private sale value the manufacturer has provided no remedy, no timeline, and no temporary assistance, leaving me without a functional plug-in hybrid vehicle. I am requesting NHTSA review and ensure stellantis provides a remedy plan or interim assistance for affected owners.
Vehicle shuts off and puts itself in park at intersections while pulling across traffic. Multiple warning lights. 4x4 faults, power steering faults, auto start/stop faults etc. Happened once just after I let off the brakes to start moving and lost power brakes.
My vehicle is affected by recall 25v-741 (fca recall 68c), which involves a risk of high-voltage battery fire due to potential internal separator damage. Fca’s NHTSA filing instructs owners to refrain from recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures or other vehicles until a remedy is available. The recall remedy is not available. Fca customer care advised me by phone that the vehicle is “safe to drive in e-save mode unless symptoms appear,” which contradicts the recall notice because the defect can cause a fire without warning or symptoms. This vehicle automatically recharges the high-voltage battery through regenerative braking and engine charging, making it impossible to comply with the instruction to “refrain from recharging. ” during another discussion, a technician also told me that the “stop sale has nothing to do with the safety of the vehicle” and advised me to “drive normally. ” when I asked about the prior cases where vehicles covered by this recall had caught fire, the technician replied, “well, they’re still around, right?” this guidance minimizes the documented fire risk and contradicts the official recall filings. The vehicle cannot be safely used or stored under normal conditions, and no interim solution or transportation has been provided. The dealer stated they were instructed by the manufacturer’s warranty team not to assist and reiterated that no remedy exists. I am reporting the unsafe and contradictory guidance from the manufacturer and the inability to safely use the vehicle while the recall remains unresolved.
This hybrid vehicle is equipped with a battery that can combust and catch on fire. A remedy is unavailable - the car is a safety problem to my family since it can not be charged or housed in my garage. This car was leased for its hybrid options for my travel to work - basically I am paying for a feature I can not use. I also worry about my family driving in it as well. I was never informed by any correspondence from stellantis regarding this recall - it was discovered by my own research from news articles. There is no immediate remedy and stellantis refuses to release me from my lease. This problem was confirmed by the dealership I leased the vehicle from. This SUV is available for inspection at any time.
This recalled vehicle cannot be driven safely. No remedy is available. I am paying for a lease. I cannot use and requesting federal assistance for a lease termination or replacement. .
1. The battery is consistently being drained from an unknown issue, mechanic unsure. In two years it has need 3 batteries. This causes start issues, window closing issues, and the radio screen console issues. 2. The transmission gets stuck in third now needing a new transmission. Was told only a new transmission will fix issue.
An overheating engine causes the truck to shut down completely, block the power steering engine, and become undrivable. Electrical and harness assembly problems the dealership inspected the truck and attempted to repair it, but the same issues have recurred and are nearly causing an accident while driving on a highway.
I am reporting a serious safety failure related to the abs/esc recall on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Parts have not been available for over a year, and my vehicle has now experienced the dangerous conditions described in the recall. Before the failure, while stopped at a red light in drive with my foot firmly on the brake, the vehicle suddenly rolled backward on its own. I had to forcefully press the brake to stop it. This should never happen and indicates brake system failure. About 10 minutes later, while driving on the highway, the vehicle experienced a sudden safety system failure. Multiple warning lights came on (abs, esc, brake system, check engine), the accelerator pedal became unresponsive, a burning smell came from the vehicle, and I temporarily lost control. I could not pull over immediately due to traffic, which created a very dangerous situation. The vehicle eventually became undriveable and required towing. I am thankful my children were not in the car. This is an extreme safety hazard. Stellantis still has no parts available and has not provided a repair or transportation option. This forces owners to choose between parking their vehicle indefinitely or driving a known unsafe vehicle. I request NHTSA review the lack of parts and enforcement of this recall, as it is putting families at risk. Owner: [xxx] , [xxx] email: [xxx] [xxx] my contact information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The vehicle does not start each time you attempt to start it. Randomly, with no specific conditions to replicate, you will start the vehicle and the starter will engage, but the vehicle will not start. The push button start will time out, you attempt to start the vehicle again, and it starts. This, from my research, is a known issue with 2016-2020ish Jeeps, with a fault in the fuel pump relay, with the easiest fix to remote start your vehicle each and ever time you start it. This happens several times per week. I contacted the dealership we purchased the vehicle from, and our local Jeep service department. They were familiar with this issue, acknowledged its a pretty big problem, but because it is not a recall for Jeeps, there is nothing they can do except for me to bring it in and pay for all of the fixes for a known production issue.
This vehicle is a danger to drive, and there is no information on when they will fix it. I have taken the battery in to fix it before and it took over 2 weeks to repair, and more problems with more recalls. The engine is said that it can cause fire like the battery. This vehicle is not safe to have and continues to be a severe safety problem for me and my family, two of the recalls right now they have no idea how to fix. It is not fair that I am paying for this vehicle and I can't even drive it.
Received an alert that the hybrid system had failed. We have not used the vehicle since all of the recalls have been received as we are too afraid for our safety and the safety of others on the road. The Jeep dealer confirmed there is no solution or fix to any of the recalls and referred us to the leasing company. I requested to be let out of my lease since there was not a resolution, and I am too afraid to drive the vehicle or put my child in it and they denied my request. I have only had the car a few months and it is not fair that I have to pay for something that is a possible danger that I cannot drive because there is no remedy.
This vehicle is subject to safety recall 68c for battery fire risk. The manufacturer issued a directive to park outside away from structures and do not charge the vehicle due to extreme fire risk. Despite having an open case with Jeep, there have been three failed supervisor callbacks with no resolution provided. The remedy is not yet available. The owner refuses to drive this vehicle and refuses to allow his wife to drive it due to serious safety concerns. If the car catches fire while she is driving, there is fear she will not have enough time to protect herself. This is an extremely scary and dangerous situation for the family. Additionally, the owner fears the house could catch fire while sleeping because of this vehicle parked nearby, even following the manufacturer's parking directive. This recall creates an impossible hardship - the vehicle cannot be safely driven or charged, yet no buyback or replacement has been offered. The vehicle was recently purchased in December 2024 and now sits unusable at 39,000 miles due to this unresolved safety defect. The manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy despite multiple contact attempts. A full vehicle buyback or replacement with a non-affected model is the only acceptable resolution to this extreme safety risk.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact had received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v576000 (electrical system); the vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the recall repair was performed. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle shutoff upon exiting the driveway and the battery message was displayed on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed back to the dealer however, the vehicle failed to duplicate the failure. The contact was informed that since the failure could not be duplicated, the vehicle was safe to drive. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact expressed concerns about the safety of the vehicle despite the dealer stating that the vehicle was safe to drive. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.
My Jeep hybrid is under an active safety recall with no available remedy. The manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the hybrid battery system, which means the vehicle cannot be used as designed. I am continuing to make loan payments on a vehicle whose primary advertised functionality has been disabled due to a safety defect. I have contacted Jeep/stellantis repeatedly through their recall assistance lines and have been transferred, disconnected, or told to call numbers that do not resolve the issue. No timeline or interim remedy has been provided. The vehicle is materially impaired, and the lack of a fix poses safety concerns and financial harm to owners. I am requesting NHTSA intervention due to the absence of any manufacturer solution or support.
This is the 9th recall. All information you have but most concerning is the fire hazard and recommendations not to plug in the hybrid vehicle and not to park near any structures including in the garage in this freezing new england cold.
I am filing a complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which currently has a high-voltage battery fire-risk recall with no remedy available. This recall states the vehicle should not be parked in garages or near structures due to fire risk. This makes the vehicle unsafe to use as intended. My vehicle has also experienced four total recalls, repeated check-engine warnings, and it was in the service department recently (within the last week) with no mention of the battery recall and no resolution for the ongoing issues. I have attempted to contact my dealership (fred beans Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram, doylestown, PA) and the general manager but have received no response for over a week regarding options for a safe loaner vehicle or next steps. The lack of remedy, the safety risk of fire, the inability to safely park or charge the vehicle, and the dealership’s failure to respond place my family at risk and leave the vehicle effectively unusable. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in documenting and escalating this unresolved and hazardous situation.
Vehicle: 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe anniversary edition lease start: April 2025 mileage: ~5,000 mi this vehicle has now been subject to two major battery-related safety recalls within the first year of lease: a “stop propulsion” recall that rendered the vehicle inoperable until a module replacement was performed. The current recall 68c (battery fire risk) covering 2021-2026 wrangler and Grand Cherokee 4xe vehicles. According to Jeep and NHTSA, owners are advised to park outdoors and away from structures or other vehicles because the high-voltage battery could catch fire even when parked and turned off. There is no available remedy or timeline for a fix. This has created an ongoing safety risk to me and my family, along with substantial loss of use and financial burden under my lease. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the scope and timeliness of Jeep/stellantis’s corrective action and determine whether interim guidance or consumer relief is warranted for vehicles that cannot be safely used or stored.
When driving the vehicle it just stalls. No warning and all power is lost including power steering which makes it very dangerous to all occupants of the vehicle and others on the road.

My 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has an active safety recall (#68c – 2020–2025 jl & 2022–2026 wl) related to the battery/electrical system. The dealership informed me that stellantis does not have a repair or remedy available and does not expect parts until at least April 2026, possibly longer. This means the vehicle cannot be repaired, sold, or traded for over a year. I have been without the car since July 2025, since the last recall b273c-00 – digital crash, and now this recall, and have incurred rental costs, insurance, and additional car payments due to loss of use. This is a serious safety concern, and the extended delay is causing significant financial hardship. I am requesting NHTSA review the manufacturer’s delay in providing a remedy for this recall.
On 10/24/2025 my wife and daughter were in the vehicle driving to her school. My wife was on the phone with me when she stated the car was reving really high and sounded like it was going to blow up how loud it was. She was driving at about 25-30 mph when the car suddenly jerked and shut off completely, the battery light turned on and the check engine light flashed before it shut off. She was able to brake and roll to the side of the road. I had instructed her to keep her foot on the break since it was not letting her shift to park. We stayed on the phone as I contacted Jeep directly and get a hold of a rep she said she was able to put it in park and she tried to turn the car on and she was able to turn it on after 10 min. She drove with the hazards on to my daughters school and dropped her off I told her park the car and don't use it until I get home. I got home on 10/26/2025 and the light was off I made an appointment with Jeep for that week 10/31 and they stated they were unable to find anything in the computer for the issue that had occurred instead they saw a issue with my heating and it was pump. I have a case open with Jeep and they have yet to return my call after a week of non stop calling, I emailed stelantis but they stated they cant assist has to be Jeep directly. I would love some help with this as the car has been to the dealership three time for multiple issues and recalls that they stated they did and still show are not done. I have a schduled appointment for the 68c but there is no remedy yet.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe — ongoing safety defects with no available remedy I am reporting multiple unresolved safety defects on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that create a serious and ongoing risk of injury or death. I have contacted stellantis bi-weekly since may, and my dealership has repeatedly stated they have no available repairs, no recommended remedies, and no ability to take the vehicle in due to outstanding recalls with no fix. I am being forced to operate a vehicle that is not safe to drive. 1. High-pitch electrical hum and continuous cooling fans while parked/off when the vehicle is turned off and not plugged in, it continues to emit a high-pitch electrical hum and the cooling fans run almost constantly. This behavior only occurs during charging or thermal management cycles, yet it happens while the vehicle is off, producing an abnormal load and possible electrical malfunction. Dealership confirms the issue but states there is no fix. 2. Instrument cluster and infotainment screens blacking out while driving both digital displays shut off repeatedly while I am driving — up to 20 times per day. This removes access to critical information such as speed, warning indicators, and hybrid system status. The dealership again states they have no repair guidance from stellantis and cannot resolve the issue. 3. Air suspension malfunctioning hazardously the air suspension system releases and refills abruptly and uncontrollably. When I start the vehicle, the system rapidly raises and lowers regardless of mode or setting. It cycles continuously even when parked. The dealer acknowledges the behavior but reports no available service procedure or repair bulletin. 4. Sudden uncommanded acceleration when slowing to a stop (most dangerous issue) when decelerating below ~20 mph, the vehicle will suddenly rev to 4,000–6,000 rpm and lurch forward, requiring immediate and forceful braking to prevent collision. This happens in all modes (hybrid, electric, and e-save). T.
- the core component that failed is the totally integrated power module (tipm). The failure was initiated by a fault in the external fuel pump relay (v62 safety recall remedy part), which caused improper power delivery. This improper power delivery subsequently damaged the fuel pump motor, requiring replacement of both components. This failure has cascaded, also disabling the circuits for the engine cooling fan (codes p0480/p0693) and exterior lighting (headlights/b1630), and the horn. I am in possession of the burnt-out fuel pump relay/fuse component. -the engine stalled while the vehicle was operating, the exact hazard the v62 recall was meant to prevent. This was followed by a catastrophic tipm breakdown, creating new, simultaneous safety risks: overheating/fire risk: the cooling fan circuit failed (p0480/p0693), causing severe engine overheating. No headlights: the headlights failed (b1630), causing total loss of visibility at night. No horn: the horn failed, eliminating the ability to warn other drivers. - yes. The initial engine stall and subsequent no-start condition (due to a blown relay fuse) were confirmed by an independent service center (monro). The cascading failures (overheating, horn, lights) and the diagnostic codes (p0480, p0693, b1630, c2201-00) were confirmed on 11/1. - the vehicle was inspected by an independent service center (monro), who returned the failed recall component to me (relay). Recommend it go to a certified Jeep dealership. It is waiting to be towed there. -the first warning was a history of intermittent starting difficulty. On 10/23, the engine stalled while operating and immediately resulted in a no-start condition. The check engine light illuminated after the subsequent failed restart attempts.

On multiple occasions now the dash and nav unit have blacked out for a period of time (maybe 5 seconds) while switching from reverse to drive. Additionally, these sytems have fully rebooted while driving. This is a distraction and causes temporary loss of access to the speedometer and other vehicle data.
Dash display went white and could not see speedometer.
