Vehicle will all suddenly while driving on the roads with speed, dash will blink and start saying to select the gear. At this point vehicle either has to be put in parking (while trying to figure out where to pull over) and reselect the gear, or completely shut off, re start and select gear in order to drive. When the dash blinks vehicle accelerator just revs the engine, loss of power occurs. This especially happens after a fuel up and you move away from gas station.

The ptu (transfer case) is not working. It started as more of a transmission issue. I would be driving at times and my transmission would not shift up. I had to manually shift my car to get it into gear. Now, it lead to knocking noises when I turn my steering wheel.

This vehicle has had multiple recalls. Anytime that I call in to get serviced. I receive one of these responses from their service department: they can’t replicate the issue, if the lights that came on are no longer on they cannot tell what the problem was, or they fixed it. I’ve had multiple calls and service request with the dealership as well with stalantas and Chrysler capital. I have pictures of different lights that go off in the dashboard whether it’s the hybrid service whether it’s engine hot, whether it’s the driver assist not working, “vehicle ready to drive”while it’s been driving a while, other issues that I’ve had regarding the components in the vehicle the ac and heat not working properly where you can have it on heat and it doesn’t heat anything or you can have it on ac and it doesn’t cool anything. And then it fixes itself and it starts to work again a few days later. The center screen goes blank sometimes. The radio button on and off sometimes it does not turn on. Sometimes when in reverse the safety system will go off and abruptlystop the car when there is nothing behind it. Currently the vehicle is at the local dealership department in their service department because of a blown gasket, also a known recall per previous research. The only department to inspect the vehicle is jt‘s service department local Jeep Dodge ram dealership have placed numerous calls to manufacture, trying to get them to buy back vehicle.
There is a safety recall on vehicle that manufacturer safety recall issued. There is no remedy. While reading all of the safety issues that come with this. This is not a great way to feel as you drive with fear vehicle may stop operating while you are driving and can cause an accident.

I believe it is something with the engine or an electrical component. I was driving and as I was parking my car shut off, was not able to completely park back end of the car is sticking out. I looked up if there were any current recalls using my VIN and nothing appeared. I did my own researching and found that there have been recalls for that model regarding the ptu, power steering and power loss which is the issue I am experiencing. My car turns off on its own and does not get any type of power. Started having trouble turning on my car over labor day weekend was not able to travel due to what I thought was my battery having issues, people were jumping me to be able to start my car. I then had my battery tested at o'reilly's on 9/3/2025 and when trying to jump start my car they shorted my engine block fuse which I was told after having my car towed to the mechanic and they took a look at it. I replaced my main battery thinking that would solve the issue and it did not and this was before the mechanic looked at it. I then had it towed to a mechanic where they replaced the engine block fuse and I was told that the car was good and running after paying on 9/19/2025. I left the mechanic and came to work where after two hours I tried to start my car and it did not. I called the mechanic and was told it was my auxiliary battery after they came to look at the car and inspect it once again that same day 9/19/2025. I purchased and replaced the auxiliary battery and was able to start and drive the car for 1. 6 miles to my brothers apartment from my work before the car turned off on me as I was trying to park. There was an error message on the car at the time when it turned off which read with a caution symbol, "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" and then turned off.

The radio in this vehicle has a widespread issue where the screen delaminates and starts ghost touching . Options are randomly selected , people are randomly called , emergency services are attempted to be contacted. Basically anything that the radio controls in the car could be changed or activated . This is extremely distracting and could cause someone to take their focus off the road and cause an accident. The radio controls heater, navigation, seat heaters, phone calls , steering wheel heaters , and many other functions in the car some of which cannot be changed without the malfunctioning radio being on. Fixing this issue is somewhere in the range of $1300 at the dealership. I feel like this is and important safety issue that causes a lot of distraction when driving the vehicle and is really difficult to work around or avoid as the random screen touches are not predictable and seem to happen at random times.

Was driving approx 55 mph and the vehicle just shut off. Warning lights came on. Was unable to restart vehicle for 10-15 minutes. Once the car restarted drove it home and had roadside assistance tow it to dealership. They had car for almost two weeks and couldn’t replicate issue. They said it didn’t throw any codes either.
Electronic stability and 4wd lights came on. Brought to dealership and the ptu is no longer working. My car is vibrating and hesitating when accelerating. Jeep dealer told me it’s common to have to replace these units however they are nationally back ordered. My car doesn’t even have 60k miles on it and even if I want to fix my car so it’s safe I can’t because the parts are backordered leaving me with no other choice but to drive for months months unsafely without a properly functioning ptu.

My car apparently overheated which made my oil filter melt and explode, popping my oil filter cap off making oil go all over my engine, ground and everywhere else. I was going about 20 mph when I realized my car was feeling weak on power and it was about to overheat. I then started to smell and see smoke. So I stopped my car in the middle of the street immediately, put on my hazard lights, and turned it off instantly. As soon as I got out, oil started to pour out everywhere. I then popped the hood to see a whole lot of smoke going everywhere. I wasn’t sure what happened, I just got the car 3 and half months ago, they said the car was top of the line, why am I having issues like these now? I did get my oil changed from pit stop (superlube) on lake street in aurora illinois, 3 days before that happened. I had to manually push my car to chihuahua tires, where they told me it was my starter, so they fixed my starter, and then told me it’s my gasket. Now apparently my head gasket is gone, and it’s going to take thousands of dollars that I don’t have. I’m already paying off the $800 for this starter repair that I didn’t really need :/ and I’m still playing for a car note on a car I’m not even driving! I can’t get to work, I can’t make money, this is depressing! I got this car because they said at carfect that my Jeep was perfect and in great condition. At this point I had over 10+ mechanical issues wrong with it, now this happened and I cant manage this. This is too much money for me. I need help, direction, a new engine, something! I just got this car! I did nothing wrong, I don’t have thousands of dollars to fix this issue! please help.

This issue happened 3 times in a matter of 2 months. All 3 happened in 3 different intersections. While turning left in the intersection (oncoming traffic also turning left) the vehicle jerks to a full stop in the middle of the intersection with a "crash detected" message flashing on the dashboard screen. The vehicle stayed in drive and continued to drive after full stop the first 2 incidents. On the 3rd incident, the vehicle stopped completely, and would not continue to drive. The vehicle had to be put into park (even though it said it was in drive but did not drive) and put into drive again to continue moving. Other vehicles driving behind the grand wagoneer were required to slam on brakes to prevent impact of the grand wagoneer and had to wait for the grand wagoneer to begin driving again. Unable to drive this vehicle due to safety issues. The vehicle is currently in the shop under investigation.
1. Driving freeway, lightening bolt warning, etc came on lost power. 2. At home level 2 charging, charge to 100%. Next day ev charge down to 85% lost 15%. Car sits 3 days down to 1% ev charge. Discharging for no reason. 3. Took to dealer, check for codes. No fix available. Dealership, took car and put me into rental. I was told unsafe to drive and told may be 2 to 3 months before fix will be available. Currently dealership has 3 other cars taken off the road. One has been there since June. All recalls had been done!.
Vehicle is stuttering and stalling out due to the computer being broke.

Was driving with the kids in the car, all of our safety was put at risk when the warning lamp came on and then the gear shift system malfunctioned. It said service hybrid system then went away. This is the third time this has happened. I had to pull over and got honked at by cars that had to stop to avoid hitting us. The problem has been confirmed by today's announcement over the impending recall for this exact issue. The component has not been inspected, I am scared to drive it to the dealer.
I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe in last month (July) to have the hybrid battery recall fixed. Since then, I have had the ‘service hybrid electrical vehicle system vehicle system’ with the red wrench pop up at least 3 times but would disappear after 10-15 seconds. Last Thursday (Aug 21), I was on the highway driving 70mph passing a semi when the same message came onto the screen & my vehicle shut completely off. I was able to safely get off the roadway & I turned it & back on & it cleared out. I dropped it off at the dealership this past Monday (Aug 25) & was called today & told the tech can’t get the vehicle to do it so he is unable to pull a code so they’re releasing the vehicle back to me. This is terrifying.
The car will cut off and loose power due to the battery issue it has been in the shop 5 or 6 times for this issue and some of the stays were over 30 days at a time they said they have no fix for the repair needed not to drive it but no one can make payments on a car and not drive it for months waiting on a repair. They refused to buy the car back or replace it with a new one.
I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the safety of my Jeep. My vehicle has been to the Jeep dealership approximately five times for the recurring service hybrid system error. Most recently, in August 2025, I received this error again along with a check engine light. Each time this error occurs, I notice that my Jeep drives differently, which raises concerns about its reliability and safety. At present, my Jeep has been at the dealership for approximately 25 days. The dealership has indicated that the issue is related to the 73c code. Despite repeated visits, the problem has not been permanently resolved. I am very concerned about my own safety, as well as the safety of others on the road, particularly because I have been informed that my Jeep is part of the 1% recall group. The ongoing malfunction makes me uneasy about driving the vehicle, and I strongly believe this presents a potential hazard. I respectfully request urgent attention to this matter and a clear resolution to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate.
Subject: safety complaint – 2022 Jeep grand wagoneer – multiple safety-critical failures and warranty concerns. I am the owner of a 2022 Jeep grand wagoneer (purchase price $114,000 usd), well maintained and currently with 41,000 miles. Despite careful use, it has developed multiple recurring electrical and mechanical failures that present serious safety risks: •parking and side sensors fail, making obstacle and blind-spot detection unreliable. •rear-view camera often shows a solid blue screen in reverse, leaving no rear visibility. •main display flickers, freezes, or shuts off; infotainment reboots while driving, disabling controls. •entire electronic system resets mid-drive, affecting safety features. •power liftgate fails to open. •air suspension changes height on its own, affecting handling and stability. While the basic 36,000-mile warranty has expired, the vehicle still has a 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Many of these failures involve safety-critical systems that should be addressed without cost to the owner. I recently brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealer, who charged $1,399 usd just for diagnostics instead of addressing them under warranty or goodwill. These issues are widely reported by other 2022 grand wagoneer owners, suggesting systemic defects. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate promptly, require Jeep/stellantis to issue recalls where necessary, provide a permanent fix, and ensure dealers address safety-related defects regardless of basic warranty expiration.
The entire Jeep failed. Every light, warning, service, etc came up when cranking, and then it went dead. Now, it will not crank at all. Additionally, the trunk will not open and no power pops up on dashboard or display. This is put my family at risk due to the vehicle being parked next to my home with a possible shortage. No one has confirmed or checked, due to it being a Saturday. No warning was given prior.
When starting car, the push to start feature will not turn over and continuously cranks multiple times. The entire fuse box was replaced because the dealer told me that was the issue. The car is a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo. Numerous people online said they were forced to replace the fuel pump? although faulkner Buick in trevose told me that there’s nothing wrong with my fuel pump. I can’t keep getting charged for repairs that are not necessary. Could this be a faulty part? that so many people have the same issue? could you please investigate this as I just bought the car a month ago and it’s been at the dealer three times already. Thank you.
Vehicle started displaying a red wrench icon with the service hybrid electric vehicle system warning on the dash and then brought up the turtle/limp mode and the vehicle would not function. This only started happening after the 95b recall fix was performed on the vehicle. The vehicle is now at the dealership and they have informed me that there will not be a fix to the issue until approx. November of this year. Service tech scan codes indicate "digital crash".
As I was driving in a parking lot, the service hybrid error popped up and then suddenly the vehicle was showing to press brake & hit start button. The vehicle began slowing down and even while pressing the gas the vehicle wouldn’t do anything. I was able to coast into an empty part of the parking lot. The vehicle then wouldn’t go into park. The emergency brake engaged without me doing anything. Then it kept telling me to press brake & hit start button but it wouldn’t do anything. The veg hole seemed to be on. But acted as if it was off. I sat disabled in the parking lot for 5-10 minutes before it would turn back on and let me resume normal activities.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the back-over prevention app independently uninstalled. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle had not been started in eight days. In addition, the stabili-trak warning light had illuminated a month prior, which was the initial failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed transfer case. The contact was informed that the transfer case needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to two additional dealers for confirmation; however, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that the failure might be related to the uconnect connection. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 88,727.
While driving, the vehicle suddenly shuts down without any prior warning. When this happens, I lose steering and braking capabilities until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The vehicle must then be towed to the service center, where they reset the fault codes in the computer system and return the vehicle to me. There are two recurring diagnostic trouble codes associated with this issue: digital crash input hcp code the manufacturer and dealership have stated they have no solution for this defect and have advised me to continue driving the vehicle despite the unresolved safety problem. This defect is extremely dangerous — I have been in several situations where I was nearly involved in an accident when the vehicle shut down during motion.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep cherokee. The contact received a recall notice in November of 2024 for NHTSA campaign number: 24v838000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated continuously. The abs warning light illuminated, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. While at a stoplight, the vehicle turned off and restarted. The local dealer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who informed the contact that the recall solution would be available soon. The failure mileage was approximately 20,337.
While driving vehicle goes into limp mode I lose acceleration but rpms on dashboard jump into the red zone and various warning lights show up I coast off to the side and put vehicle in park and shut off engine. When I restart everything clears and vehicle is normal again. This happened 3 times so far and dealer had the car 12 days and cannot duplicate the problem saying no codes show up show up on the scanner.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 60 mph, the “service hybrid electric system” warning light illuminated, and the vehicle lost power. The contact stated that her husband was able to pull over to the right side of the road, turn off and restart the vehicle, and the vehicle operated as intended. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed; however, the result was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 13,266.
Car completely shut off while saying the electrical hybrid system needed to be serviced. Car turned back on and light was off. Check engine light going on and off as well. When going lower speeds the cars rpms rev all the way up, almost to the red, and while your pressing the gas doesn’t move but then jerks and goes forward. Your head slams into the seat and it’s extremely unsafe especially if you are in stop and go traffic. The car has been spitting and sputtering. Brought it to the dealership I just purchased it from, I’ve only made one payment. They stated that Chrysler is aware of the problem but that there is no solution as of right now. Extremely unsafe to drive and do not feel safe with my daughter in the car with the car jerking forward and being delayed with the gas and rpms increasing.
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle occasionally stalled while at a complete stop. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to restart after several attempts, approximately 15 minutes. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the failure could not be duplicated; however, the contact was informed that the vehicle could be experiencing a fuel pump relay failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 (electrical system); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 158,660.
Total loss of power while driving I got a red wrench hybrid system warning light when driving at 45 mph. The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe lost all power and a warning that told me to pull over when it was safe. The total loss of power almost cause an accident. I waiting a few minutes and the vehicle started up and I drove home. I am reluctant to drive the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the messages "no seat belt", "service air bags", "service seat belts" and "auto park disabled" were displayed. The contact stated that the failure had occurred with the driver and the front passenger's side seat occupant wearing their seat belts. Additionally, the brake and the check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the occupant restraint controller (orc) had failed, and the loss of communication with the orc had caused the electrical failures. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 21v873000 (air bags), but the dealer informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.
The car cuts off in middle of the road n won’t shut on brought a new fuel pump and it’s still shutting off the electric light pops up on dash when cutting the engine on the car gives the cranking engine power sounds but doesn’t cut on mechanic put in new fuel pump and now think it’s a electrical problem the steering is tight backing up and it has steering fluid this has been happening since 3 months ago I wanna say it comes n goes I’ve got it inspected twice and they inquired about the fuel pump which I have gotten fixed and the car still continues to shut off in the middle of traffic which can cause an accident.
I recently purchased the vehicle in may 2025. It was a dealer car from original purchase. One month after purchasing [June 2025] the vehicle the car would not start. I called in roadside assistance to jump start the car. I took the car to a Jeep dealership for servicing. They recommended replacing both batteries. They mentioned one of the batteries were not an original. This must mean the dealer who owned and sold me the vehicle was aware of the battery issue. In late July, little over one month the vehicle would not start. I call for roadside assistance again. I dropped vehicle with dealership. I called two days later, and they could not discover the problem. They suggested I leave the vehicle for up to three weeks. This would give them sufficient time to attempt to discover the cause of the battery drainage. This is the first time I am experiencing any short coming from purchasing a vehicle since I started purchasing cars. I am hoping a resolution has been discovered for the battery drainage issue for the 2024 grand wagoneer. I am the owner: [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I have a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and have owned it for about 11 months. I bought it new. For the first 7 or 8 months, no problems at all. However, in the last 2 or 3 months, the truck has intermittently shutdown while driving. It's happened on the highway and on local streets. I've taken it to two Jeep dealers for service, and neither could replicate the problem. It's not showing any fault codes when they diagnose. One dealer said they updated the software and should have fixed the issue. It hasn't. I am afraid to drive this vehicle and will never let my wife drive it. I've searched online and see others have had the exact same issues. I need to get this vehicle repaired by stellantis/Jeep otherwise I'll be forced to return it.
