I was rolling up to a red light. The Jeep shut down on a main road. The battery light, abs, and power saver mode went on. The power steering shut off and then the car shut off. I was unable to move the vehicle. I wait 5 minutes then started the car again and got it rolled into the nearest parking lot.

The current recall is unable to happen as it has to be over 50 degrees. This is the second major recall in under one year. I have had issues with the radio, apple car play, the engine dying while in park and idling. Additionally, the vehicle suddenly lost power while driving it at 65 mph on a major highway when trying to pass. The only answers I get is the lemon law. This vehicle is not safe, the dealer has only offered for me to trade out of it into something extremely higher of payment. I am requesting a dealer buyback due to major safety concerns. This vehicle should not even be on the market. The acceleration issues continue and I am done!.

Waited for of a month from the time I called for service for Jeep to address recall high-voltage battery fire risk NHTSA campaign: 25v741 / manufacturer recall 68c upon leaving the service department at salerno & duane Jeep the issue was unresolved. Service tech was expecting the customer to pay for an added oil change due to the recall which should be the responiblity of Jeep.

On February 3, Tuesday drove home from work. The battery light came on. I drove to autozone and they placed it on diagnostic reader. The diagnostic reader said that the battery had no charge. They told me I need a new battery. I replaced the battery. The next morning, I placed the Jeep into auto start. So the Jeep can warm up. When I went outside, there was smoke coming from underneath the hood of the Jeep. I quickly turn off the Jeep and pop the hood. My husband open the hood and can see smoke coming from the alternator. He turned around to turn off his vehicle that was running. I started to video recording the incident and stopped it right away when I started to see flames coming out of the alternator. My husband and I quick action was to grab snow that was next to the Jeep to throw it onto the alternator to put the fire out. It took multiple piles of snow that the husband went and grabbed the fire extinguisher and sprayed the alternator to extinguish the fire. Once the fire was extinguished. We kept an eye out to make sure everything was good. We left the hood up to cool things down. We called morgan towing to have the Jeep towed to their location to look at the situation. Morgan towing picked the Jeep up on February 4 Wednesday. They replaced the serpentine belt and the alternator. They called us to let us know the Jeep was done. Picked up the Jeep today, February 5 Thursday. I drove it literally down the street and I can smell strong odor of smoke along with the battery light came back on. I turned back around and brought it back to morgan towing. I called my auto insurance and waiting to hear back from them. I am going to call the Dodge Jeep dealership and see what they have to say if if there’s was any recall on the Jeep. Upon my research so far, I didn’t see no recall but again I’m gonna call the dealership.

The contact leased a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v766000 (engine) and 25v741000 (electrical system). The local dealer was contacted and completed the recall repair under NHTSA campaign number: 25v741000 (electrical system); however, the second recall repair was still pending. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Recall 68c I can’t drive my vehicle while the dealership awaits a replacement battery from manufacturer. I have not been offered any compensation from Jeep.
This complaint is being filed as an update to prior NHTSA complaints regarding the same vehicle and recall 78c. The issues described below remain unresolved. My vehicle is subject to recall 78c, which warns of a defect that may result in catastrophic engine failure due to an engine block casting issue. The recall was issued approximately 90 days ago, and the status remains listed as “remedy under development,” with no repair available and no timeline provided. Since the recall was issued, I have contacted stellantis three separate times in writing requesting: confirmation whether the vehicle is considered safe to operate while the recall remains open, and transportation accommodation while no remedy exists. None of these emails have received a response. I also contacted two authorized Jeep dealerships seeking transportation assistance. Both initially stated they do not provide loaner vehicles and are not required to follow corporate directives. Both later stated loaner vehicles do exist but were unavailable and subject to a waitlist; however, neither dealership took my information or placed me on a waitlist, nor provided any follow-up. No meaningful transportation accommodation has been provided. I have been advised only that rental reimbursement may be available, which does not prevent continued operation of the vehicle. As a result, I am being forced to continue driving a vehicle under an active safety recall that explicitly warns of possible catastrophic engine failure, without a remedy, without a timeline, and without alternative transportation. This complaint is submitted to document the prolonged lack of a remedy, manufacturer non-response to repeated safety inquiries, failure to provide interim accommodation, and continued requirement that I operate the recalled vehicle.

5. 7l hemi engine fire. The primary cause was a wire harness retention clip failure that allows the starter wiring harness to lay on the steering column. As it turns, it cuts into the harness and provides battery voltage to the steering column. In my case, there was a power steering fluid leak combined with the electrified steering assembly started a fire. Any similar combustible fluid would have the same result. It may be a potential recall that should be investigated. VIN 8c244809. Incident occurred on 1-28-26. I have video footage of the issue if needed.

On sat 01/24/26 I was filling my washer fluid and I looked down and saw oil on the bottom on right side. I left it parked until I took it 2 miles to dealer told them what I saw and they looked at it and the plastic oil canister housing broke and got oil in my antifreeze. They told me powertrain warranty would not cover the whole fix. I have seeing alot of people have had same problem I think Jeep needs to get a recall out for that since it has been a problem. This is not right it should be all covered now I won't have all the money after they get it fixed to. Pay. Have never had any problem Jeep ran good never over heated oil pressure always at 31 to 32 pressure. Never new I had a problem until I looked under hood to fill washer fluid. Something needs to be done about this ASAP. It all because Jeep don't wanna have to fix all the ones like this. I didnot get any photos was so upset I saw oil never even thought about getting pictures. They need to get a recall on this ASAP thank you very much. It is at the dealership kunes country in platteville wisconsin 53818 thank you.

This vehicle has ongoing issues with electrical systems. Any time temperature drops into negative digits the vehicle will drain both batteries to the point the auto is inoperable. Further jump starting the vehicle in a very low battery state is a futile venture. The issue leaves the vehicle and it's occupants stranded in sub-zero conditions.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact was informed by the dealer that the VIN was associated with NHTSA campaign number: 25v766000 (engine); however, parts were not yet available. The dealer confirmed that the recall repair could not be completed due to parts unavailability. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Component failure: this vehicle has suffered a recurring "loss of motive power" (lmp) while in motion. On [xxx], for the third time, the internal combustion engine shut off completely while the vehicle was being driven in traffic. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: this incident occurred on a public road in new york during a severe winter storm with over a foot of snow on the ground. There were two children in the vehicle. The sudden loss of propulsion in heavy traffic and hazardous weather conditions created an immediate risk of a rear-end collision and left my family stranded without power or heat in freezing temperatures. Confirmation & inspection: this is a documented, repeat failure. The manufacturer has confirmed the defect previously and even reimbursed me for a prior repair attempt. However, the issue remains unresolved. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Jeep dealer during previous failures, but the "remedy" provided was ineffective. I am currently awaiting a new inspection for this third occurrence. Symptoms & warnings: prior to the total engine shutdown, the malfunction indicator lamp (mil) illuminated on the dashboard. In previous instances, the manufacturer cited software errors or internal contamination as the cause. I suspect this is related to existing NHTSA recall 25v-766 (engine sand contamination) or recall 25v-710 (hybrid control software failure). Additional context: despite the life-threatening nature of this repeat defect, the local dealership refused to provide a loaner vehicle, and the manufacturer (Jeep wave) is refusing to fully cover the cost of a rental vehicle. I am currently paying out-of-pocket interest on delayed reimbursements from the manufacturer. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Turned on the car to the find the check engine light was on. Drive 5 minutes to my son’s school to pick him up. Turned the car off, then back on to see if maybe the check engine light would go off. Instead the check engine light, battery light and service hybrid charging system errors appeared on the dash. The car would not turn off and I was unable to put it in gear at all. It left me stranded. I called a tow truck and about 10 min before they were set to arrive I tried turning it off and on again and it started like normal (check engine light still on) drove 5 min home and it did it again in my driveway. Happened again when my husband started it to take a look. This happened to us one other time about 3 months after we bought the car. We’ve only had it 9 months. Both recalls have been completed. This is unacceptable.

I purchased this vehicle, November 2023 and by August 2024 the vehicle went into griffin hubs to get the engine replaced. They had the vehicle for over a month and a half when I received it back after the engine I had it for a day and a half and had to take it back because it was making a loud grinding noise coming from the engine which then they had to replace a second time because the engine was shredded and was told they were going to put a new transmission in as well, but instead of just replaced a piece, and then two months later, the negative terminal for the battery was replaced in about four months later I take it into the dealership again because as I was driving the vehicle pulled back three times and then shot forward and that happened seven separate times dealership said they could not find an issue and then in November 2025, the vehicle goals back into the dealership for overheating needing a new water pump because I was losing coolant with no leaks. Get the vehicle back two days later my coolant is empty tied again call the dealership they said if it happened again, bring it back in two weeks later it did the exact same thing. My coolant was emptied, but there is no leaks coming from under the vehicle and now last week as I was driving, the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating and my gearshift wouldn’t catch any gears and as the vehicle is still moving my tires, then locked. The vehicle has been at the dealership for five days and they still cannot figure out what the issue is.
There were no warning or check engine lights prior to the incidents below. Car was just serviced Nov 3rd 2025 for safety recall 25v-472 and 25v-576. 1st incident Dec 21, 2025: driving 70mph on major busy interstate in MA and all of a sudden vehicle lost all power. It shut off completely. No lights, no warning. Had to coast over to r shoulder and wait several min before power restored. This was very scary as traffic was heavy. 2nd incident occurred Jan 19, 2026 and was terrifying: I was driving on a curvy mountain 2 lane road at night. This road does not have much lighting. There are no shoulders or pull over lanes due to guardrails. Out of nowhere with no warning. Vehicle lost all power (including steering and all lights). Could not get out of road as everything shut off and steering locked. I had no lights (both internal and external) I finally got flashers to work after a minute or so but had to sit there dead in the middle of the road on a curve praying no cars came around curve. Was able to restart after about a minute and a half! called dealership today and they said there is no recall for “loss of power” and we will be taking it in for a $200 diagnostics test.
The check engine light keeps coming on. The Jeep repair shop says that it has to do with the flap on the gas tank where you put the gas in. Hence, the repair light keeps coming on so you never know if its real and needs to be addressed or if its the gas tank issue again.
All dashboard lights came on while cherokee shut off on the parkway yet allowing me to steer to the side shoulder. Is this a symptom of total integrated power module tipm.

Was driving on a crowded interstate highway that runs through denver when my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe suddenly turned off. Luckily, there were no cars in the adjacent lane and I had enough forward momentum to get across that lane and onto the shoulder of the road. There were no warning lights or alarm sounds, the engine just turned off. After reaching the shoulder, I restarted the car and could drive it to a dealership. It is currently at the Jeep dealership undergoing diagnostics. This was an unbelievably dangerous event that could have resulted in a multiple car pile up with injuries or deaths (most likely mine or my wife’s) since we were in such heavy traffic at a speed of about 70 mph. We are the sole owners of the vehicle and have kept up to date on all recalls of which there have been several. We had one recall outstanding which was due to be addressed in a few days which dealt with a potential battery fire. Not sure how that would relate to this event. We have not had any similar event with this car in the roughly 28000 miles we’ve driven it. If the car needs to be inspected, that would be fine. I’d hate to have this happen to anyone else.
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and turned off, the vehicle became inoperable. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump module and valve had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 188,000.

The vehicle is a leased 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was taken out of service due to two manufacturer safety recalls. The dealership retained possession of the vehicle for approximately eight (8) days to complete recall-related repairs. During this period, the vehicle was not safe to operate and no loaner vehicle or alternate transportation was provided. The dealership instructed us to obtain a rental vehicle, stating verbally that it would be covered. Relying on this instruction, we incurred rental and transportation expenses. After returning the rental, we were forced to rely on other private transportation, including uber, solely because the recalled vehicle remained unavailable. Despite the vehicle being disabled due to manufacturer safety recalls, the manufacturer has refused to fully reimburse these transportation costs. Throughout this period, we continued to pay our monthly lease payment in full and had no reasonable means of transportation. The vehicle has now been returned. This complaint is submitted to document the handling of safety recall repairs that resulted in extended loss of use, lack of alternate transportation, and out-of-pocket expenses borne by the consumer due to a manufacturer safety defect.
Check engine light came on and when we had it tested with the obd?ii scanner it came back with a fuel system wiring harness corrosion emission control module software updates transmission shift issues.

For the second winter (2 out of 2) this vehicle has entered form mode - fuel oil refresh - and fails to operate as a hybrid car until- if last year was the indicator - spring and warmer weather. Ostensibly due to running in electric mode for too long, form is an engine and fuel safety measure. Since this vehicle was under recall 68c until earlier this week and had not been operable in electric mode at all since September, this excuse fails demonstrably. It has been in form since the recall was completed. Having a Jeep in winter that is not operable in electric mode in snow and ice when the potential exists that gas mode doesn't function and the 24 "reserve" miles are not available in electric mode, poses a significant risk. Secondarily, in last winter and this, hybrid use is unavailable for months.
My 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee phev is subject to safety recall 78c/NHTSA 25v-766 for engine fires caused by sand contamination in the 2. 0l engine that can cause "catastrophic engine failure" and "vehicle fire. On January 9, 2026, I took my vehicle to stewart Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram in colma, CA. While other recalls were serviced, I was informed that recall 78c could not be completed because remedy parts are unavailable. Following the dealership’s advice, I contacted Jeep customer care (1-800-334-9200). I was told the vehicle is safe to drive despite no expected resolution date for the repair. Furthermore, my request for a rental vehicle was denied unless I paid out of pocket. ?my car leasing company, stellantis’ own notice states this defect creates an "increased risk of occupant injury" due to fires. It is unacceptable to be forced to choose between driving a known fire hazard with my infant child or having no transportation. I have attempted to escalate this with Jeep customer care but have not received a return call from management. ?I request that the NHTSA compel Jeep to provide a safe loaner vehicle or initiate a vehicle buyback immediately due to this imminent safety hazard. I am being forced to either: drive a vehicle Jeep admits may catch fire or have no transportation for my family.
My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has been at the dealership service center since [date] due to the recall identified as NHTSA campaign 25v766000. The component involved is the engine, which is still installed in the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. The recall notice states that debris inside the engine may cause engine failure, resulting in loss of drive power or an engine compartment fire. Safety risk: this issue puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the vehicle could lose power while driving or catch fire unexpectedly. Confirmation of problem: the problem has been confirmed by the dealership, and they advised that the remedy is still under development. Inspection: the vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer’s authorized service center, but no repairs have been performed because there is no available solution. Warning signs: there were no warning lamps or messages prior to the recall notice. I proactively brought the vehicle in after learning about the recall. Current situation: I have been without my primary vehicle for an extended period and am currently in a rental provided by Jeep. However, I have received no timeline for a fix, nor any indication if Jeep will replace or buy back the vehicle. This indefinite delay is unacceptable given the severity of the safety risk.
While driving my 2024 Jeep wagoneer, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of power without warning. The engine shut off while the vehicle was in motion, including during a turn. When this occurred, I lost power steering, which made the vehicle difficult to control and created an immediate safety hazard. Prior to this incident, the vehicle had ongoing issues including overheating, repeated check engine lights, and power steering warnings. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership multiple times. A thermostat repair was previously performed, and at a later visit I was told there was an electrical/battery wiring issue that was repaired. Despite these repairs, the problem has continued. The loss of power while driving placed my safety and the safety of others at risk, especially since the failure occurred without warning and resulted in loss of steering assistance. I no longer feel the vehicle is safe to operate, particularly when transporting my children. The issue has been inspected by the dealership on multiple occasions; however, the root cause has not been permanently identified or resolved. Warning lights, including the check engine light, have appeared intermittently prior to the failure. The defect appears to be recurring and.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving at approximately 30 mph and accelerating, the vehicle went into limp mode. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the tone wheel had delaminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
Lost power and stopped on the highway gas gauge was not accurate.
Engine shut off while driving on the highway. I was able to pull over onto the emergency lane. Headlights went off (night driving) along with the heated seat and steering wheel, but the radio remained on. After stopping I notice the emergency park break was on. Once I shut the off the emergency brake I was able to resume driving. The dealership was not able to duplicate or find the problem. They hope the update for a current recall problem will fix it.
While stopped in traffic with the brake pedal depressed and auto hold enabled, my 2024 Jeep grand wagoneer l has repeatedly jerked and shifted itself into park without driver input. This typically occurs after being stopped approximately 20+ seconds, often while a turn signal is activated for a left or right turn. When the failure occurs, the vehicle disables driver-assist systems, the turn signals behave like emergency flashers, false rear tail light error messages appear, and the check engine light turns on and remains illuminated. The vehicle will not move until the brake pedal is applied and the transmission is manually shifted back into drive. The issue has occurred multiple times at different locations and dates. A recent repair replaced the vehicle’s primary electronics control module(s), but the same behavior occurred again afterward. Due to the unintended shift into park and unpredictable system behavior, the vehicle is now parked and not being driven because I do not trust it to operate safely in traffic.
Avis rented me this car with an active safety recall. The key fob even had a small sticker on it that had "safety recall" handwritten on it, indicating they were aware there was an active safety recall (these things are literally lighting on fire) -- and put me and my family's lives at risk. This is a flagrant violation of the raechel and jacqueline houck safe rental car act. They refused to fully refund me for this glaring breach in safety.
Vehicle engine shutoff while driving which led to no acceleration. No warning lamps prior to failure. It just completely shutoff and on the message center it stated how to start the vehicle as if it was not already started and running. I was in electric mode.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v741000 (electrical system) and 25v766000 (engine). However, the part to do the recall repair for the engine was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving into a parking space, the contact switched the gear knob from drive(d) to park(p) and the vehicle stalled. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle restarted. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer's number was an automated recording, and an error message was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 12,900.
Local dealers are unable to resolve the recall on timely basis due lack of parts, lack of loaner or rental cars. Weather, sense of urgency. This is a serious safety recal of potential battery fire and suddenly stop while in motion. Need to do something!.
The contact owns 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed to take the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was then taken to firestone, where the contact was informed that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 23v411000(engine and engine cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 81,767.
