Vehicle has been to dealership four times for the same problem. After driving longer than 10-15 minutes turning the Jeep off and trying to restart within 5-10 minutes it won't start. Let it sit for minimum of 20 minutes will start. The relays get very warm but after cooling, the car starts. Dealership has zinged us for a new starter, it didn't need, a new pcm, it didn't need. Testing my own theory 3 consecutive times in one day, drove the vehicle at least 30 minutes. Turned off and attempted to restart (as you would a quick trip to the store) and nothing but waiting each time, car starts after cooling. Picked up the Jeep two days ago from dealership who had it 18 days trying to fix it (3rd time)and the first trip that day resulted in another occurrence of the same problem.

2011, 2012 Chrysler vehicles with the pentastar v6 3. 6 liter engine are rated to tow 5000 lbs unrestricted with the tow package installed. There is a design defect in the cooling system in that it cannot cool the engine when towing about 3500 lbs uphill. The tow vehicle starts uphill at the highway speeds of 65mph in the passing lanes with enough power to continue and suddenly without any warning, lights, etc. , the tow vehicle looses power and abruptly slows to a maximum speed of about 27mph. With all other vehicles on the road trying to get by and not slow down, this creates an extremely dangerous situation of attempting to cross 3 lanes or more to get off the road while tractor trailers have to slam on the brakes and hopefully screech to an almost stopped position to avoid killing the families in the tow vehicles. Chrysler has confirmed the problem but has refused to do anything about it and has insisted that the vehicles are working the way they were designed but are obviously not working within the advertised specifications. Chrysler does not want to change the advertised specs due to the fact that it might cost them money, even though many peoples lives are at risk. Chrysler could easily perform a recall and fix the problem, saving lives, but there would be a small monetary cost to Chrysler.

Plastic fan blades of the electric radiator fan have fracture and separate on my vehicle,it has cause the vehicle to overheat, plus it damage the radiator,2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee ,I have been told that it does not cover my vehicle, but other of the same year,I have the same problem. Or on recall.
1. I had my Jeep 2002 Grand Cherokee repaired then a few hours later it broke down again. When I stopped and turned it off the engine continued making noise, the coolant ran out the bottom of the vehicle and the car was hot and smelled bad. 2. I called lithia in concord, it was the radiator cooling fan and it was inoperable. They estimated the repair at $1400. I had just paid $1400 to have this car repaired, I bought the car and a warranty from lithia in December. The warranty and lithia and Chrysler-daimler would not help with the repair. I finally had it towed elsewhere. 3. I am now trying to get it repaired but the radiator cooling fan is not available. It's completely out of stock and on back order from Jeep. They can't make them fast enough to replace the broken ones, and this part costs over $900. However, it is not a recall item.
Engine repeatedly overheats, repairs are very costly for problem not getting fixed.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. . I have the same as all other 2000 jgc owners are having. Been using coolant every few weeks needs to be topped off. . Fan was replace due to recall. Had to replace fan control under headlight. Last year was overheating. Replaced water pump/ thermostat. Overheating again. Just replaced thermostat today. Did not fix the problem. Transmission has been shifting hard for the past year and a half. I replaced parts in transmission as suggested by dealer. But it did not fix problem. . Replaced radiator around may of 09 still having cooling problems. I replaced so many sensors that have failed that I cant remember them all. I still have 1 more year of payments on this vehicle. . Its hard to make payments when I have been buying so many parts to try to keep this car running. Bad door seals, they are too small (short or shrinking) it lets water come in back passenger area. Always smells musty inside. . Black mold in the rainy season. Taillight brake light on one only works part time. Replaced 3 door latches. Including one on rear hatch.
Heat only works on driver side. Cold air from passenger side. My mechanic the a/c blend door is probably stuck. I have been told they would have to pull the dash to fix the problem. A year ago the heater core was replaced requiring the need to pull the dash. The labor for that alone was $900. My mechanic told me that both of these problems have service bulletins issued for the Jeep & the Dodge durango. I believe the manufacturer should be responsible for the repair costs. These are so common, that the parts needed to fix the blend door are not even available. With the below 0 temperatures we are having this winter I can't go very far without freezing!.
Coolant loss with no leaks found dealer don't want to find problem. Mechanic says aii 2000 models are doing it and Chrysler will not fix problem. Mechanic said to sell it and make it somebody else's problem. Mechanic said i6 head cracks, fan relay goes bad, radiator cracks and Chrysler don't want to stand behind there product and fix it.
There is no heat blowing on driver side but heat on passenger side.
The heating/cooling system on my 2003 Grand Cherokee is an insult to the other qualities of this vehicle! the internal doors that direct air through the system is extremely cheaply made. Mostly plastic-a very poor grade! the dealer says it will cost close to a $1000 to repair and he wouldn't guarantee it would not happen again. I think Chrysler should be responsible for something this poorly made. It is no wonder they are in trouble and the government is giving them billions of dollars to make more inferior Jeeps! I have not had the repairs made,I just don't have the money. So my wife has to ride to work in a luxury vehicle with no heater! there is no doubt this should be a recall!!!!! updated 10/23/09.

The radiator fan blades on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee fractured and separated while the motor was running. This is consistent with NHTSA campaign id number: 06v199000 and corresponding daimlerchrysler recall no. F25, however, this recall was only for vehicles built from January 31, 2000 through June 12, 2000. My Jeep was constructed in December of 1999 so my fan is not included in this recall. I'd like clarification on why model year 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee's that were built in December of 1999 are not included in the recall even thought the engineering and construction of the recalled item and corresponding fracture and separation of the radiator fan are the same.
