1 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 12/03/2020

Approximately three weeks ago I noticed oil drips where the car was parked. The car had 49,740 miles and was almost due for a 5,000 mile oil change. I took it early and asked the mechanic to check on the leaks. He found there was oil all over the underside of the car and especially around the oil pan, although no apparent source of the leak could be seen, the oil pan gasket/seal was replaced. That did not help the problem, the next day there was a larger puddle of oil under the car. Apparently, the oil filter housing on this car is cracked, leading to an oil leak on top of the engine and pooling that runs down the back of the engine. Occasionally burning oil can be smelled, creating a possible fire hazard issue to the passengers. It would seem that this is a known problem - NHTSA has recorded a number of complaints from users (e. G. , 11244788,11230350, 11193883, etc. ). Fca issued an early service bulletin: sb-10058301-5939. Searching online shows literally hundreds of complaints about this issue. This is an expensive repair that should never have been necessary. The replacement part number is now on its sixth revision (currently adapter-engine oil filter - mopar 68105583af). It seems like there should have been a recall for this issue long ago.

3 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/10/2020

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after the vehicle had received an oil change, there was an abnormal oil burning odor present. The contact became aware of oil leaking under the hood and in close proximity to the intake. The vehicle was taken to zubek Chrysler Dodge - tawas (492 m55, tawas city, mi 48763, (877) 591-0773) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the oil cooler filter housing fractured and caused an oil leak. The repair was still pending. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.

4 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 09/20/2019

The car burns excessive oil, the only warning of this is the car shuts off power regardless of the speed and location (I could be driving 65 mph and it just shuts off power to the engine ) and the check engine light comes on. Anyone behind be can crash into me and there is nothing I can do. Jeep says the oil burning is normal. (5 quarts in 4000 miles is not normal) not having any warning notification of this is not normal.

5 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/25/2019

Two issues with this vehicle. First, at 99,000 the camshaft began to fail due to excessive wear. The vehicle is now burning an excessive amount of oil and fuel. I am told that the engine needs to be replaced, but the dealership and Chrysler refuse to repair/replace under warranty. Second, the vehicle constantly stalls while driving. This happens 1-2 times per month, typically when breaking for a stop, or breaking to make a right hand turn. Very dangerous. Dealership was unable to identify the problem, but I see literally hundreds of complaints from people who have the same problem.
