Engine light goes on blinks and car starts to shake had dealer look into engine. They stated the engine block needs replacement. This has been going on since I owned the Jeep. The car can stall at any minute and just shutoff. Driving on city streets engine light blinks for a few minutes the goes solid for a few days then goes off only to restart the process car always shakes and makes noises.

Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel, after v08 recall (diesel exhaust issue), car now will lag, and fail to accelerate at lower speeds under load. Acts as if it will stall. Dangerous in that it fails to respond to acceleration input under these conditions, usually around 20-25 miles per hour. When this occurs, car makes two very short and faint buzzing noises from the engine compartment. Car did not do this prior to the v08 diesel recall software fix. This is an ongoing problem, car has been to shop several times, and everything checks out as being normal.

Constantly will make a squeeling sound every morning on start up. Lasts over a minute - not even on cold days! have had it looked at - state can't duplicate the oeuvre (of course because it's always the first start up! rough idle every 2-3 minutes, transmission shifts hard out of first gear. Pour fuel economy as well. Maintenance has been done. Just bought the car - several issues.

Sudden unintended acceleration of my Jeep Grand Cherokee leads to total loss on on March 30 , 2018. This is my story: I bought my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2018 trailhawk from the orange park Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, ram dealership aka darscars of jacksonville at 7233 blanding blvd (904) 777-5500 on October 21, 2017 under a three year lease agreement with ally auto finance (1-888) 925-2559. On March 30, 2018 with approximately 3700 miles I was at the gateway pistol and rifle range at 9301 zambito Ave n in jacksonville with my friend charlie caddell (904) 545 4215 for pistol shooting. My car was parked outside of one of the steel sheds. When rain started we decided to drive my car around and under the shed. I took the car around but couldn't quite make it into the shed and had to back up. When shifting into reverse I heard a strange noise and my friend told me later that my rear wheeles started spinning, which they are not supposed to do. When my car was in the right position my foot was still on the break I shifted to "drive". At this moment the engine roared up and raced forward. I could not stop the car. I steered it into the next empty shooting bay in 1/2 circle into the backstop ending up at the wall which was damaged in the process. All front and side airbags were deployed. It was an absolutely horrifying experience. It was plain luck that nobody was hurt. The car is presently in the hands of my insurer aaa who declared the car a total loss. I believe this is an obvious case of product liability for which the manufacturer should be held responsible! I found out yesterday that there is a special phone number for Chrysler customer care in charge of lemon car issues 1-844-521-8188. My complaint has a case number 33880270.

On sept. 2, 2014 I had my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee towed to the nearsest dealer, milford Chrysler, milford, PA. I was driving the day before with family when the vehicle suddenly stalled in an entrance to a parking lot just avoiding an accident. Message center showed key not detectable. Several attempts later it turned over. To play it safe I returned home to exchange vehicles. It was making hissing sounds so I left it out of the garage. The next day, it was still making noises. I called for a tow to the dealer. I called Chrysler and they advised me of a recall but that the engineers were still trying to determine why but that the tipm was malfunctioning. I was also told that a final recall would not come out for about 3 months! I had no choice but to get my vehicle repaired. They had to replace the battery, fuel pump, tipm for a total out of pocket cost of $2493. 98. Chrysler eventually reimbursed me for the total amount. On November 20,2015 I went out and found that my blinkers did not work. In fact, when engaged, the fog lights blinked and or flashed. I took it to my original dealer, r. I. Suresky in goshen, new york. They ran a scan and found that it was caused by the tipm ! this makes tipm #2!. I called Chrysler, the final verdict, it was not covered by the recall (fuel pump related only). The tech replaced the tipm yet again at an out of pocket cost to me of $1043. 40. On October 21, 2016 the engine light came on. I have an appointment at suresky's on Monday October 24 to run a diagnostic on it. Could it be tipm related? we'll see. I feel that Chrysler owes me $1043. 40 for having parts ( never available immediately by the way) that are defective and place people in very dangerous situations on the road.

My car would not start on a number of occasions--the starter would make noise but the engine would not start. It usually started on the second or third try. I received a recall notice for defective tipm unit but was told that the part was not in stock. Well over a year later, the company still does not have any in stock. In addition, I have experienced my horn randomly doing off (sounds like the panic alarm) even though the car was running and in motion. Jeep should be much more proactive about this as an stalls during driving as a result of a tipm defect could case bodily harm to the driver, passengers, and others on the road.
Going 40 mph the all lights on dashboard came on, the radio shut off, the abs brakes made a noise then everything on dashboard went out. Check engine light came on & the gas gage didn't work you couldn't tell how fast you were going ,the air conditioner quit & engine stopped, the vehicle was hard to steer & the brakes were manual & then engine started again. I turned the car off & turned it back on & the check engine light is on & the dashboard seems to work again. This has happened 2 times within 3 days. I am renting a vehicle cause I'm too afraid to drive the vehicle. There is a recall on this vehicle for the ignition switch with all the same vehicle loss of engine power, power steering & braking assist but it doesn't include the dashboard lights coming on & the dealers say it is not the same thing. The ignition switch recall came out in July 2014 & to date they have not provided any dealerships with the replacement parts. How can Jeep say it is not the same problem if they won't replace the recalled ignition switch to find out?.

I purchase this vehicle 11/8/2014. Since then here is an ongoing, high pitched noise upon acceleration from zero to any cruising speed. I have taken it to 3 different Jeep dealers for this complaint and others. The service departments say it is due to the 9 speed automatic transmission. One dealer tried to blame it on my plastic sunglasses in the overhead storage compartment. One dealer reported to me that the same noise was heard on 2 brand new vehicles just delivered to them. I also have ongoing electrical issues - steering wheel controls reverse sides left to right, right to left for audio controls, the radio randomly starts switching channels, automatic high beam sensors turns on to enable mode, but in this mode the high beams do not dim. This function worked initially, then it didn't and one dealer said it lost it's program so they reset it. Another dealer said the sensor is not working. I will have it looked at again at my next service appointment. The phone call/phone call cancel buttons also reverse function. The fuel take door randomly pops open. This has happened while driving, while the car is parked at my work or home. I have had this repaired once. It still continues to happen. The Jeep will randomly lurch forward while stopped, brakes engaged and vehicle is running - at a stop light or stop sign.
While driving the vehicle stopped working and would not accelerate. I took it to the dealership and they said that there was a problem with the filter that was attached to the transmission and they reset the transmission. Two days later it stop working while in the middle of an intersection and when it was down shifting it became jerky and would lunge forward. It also started making a noise when put into reverse and the dash said that the vehicle needed to be put into gear while I was driving. It is back at the garage again to be fixed. This is a serious safety issue! when I was at the service center the manager showed me a recall from Chrysler that was dated 11/2013 and was about this issue. He also told me that Chrysler stopped using this transmission at the end of 11/2013 because of these problems. There is no way to fix these problems, but Chrysler does not want recall any of these vehicles. What is a consumer suppose to do?.
Bought this vehicle in June 2014 with 36,700 miles on it from somerset Jeep in somerset MA. 1st issue was car was having trouble starting. Taken to quirk Jeep in marshfield MA on September 5th issue was fuel pump circuit does not power up in tipm installed relay harness and fuse starts fine now. Cost is $375. 68, which I had to put on my credit card. 2. Car starts smoking, which terrifies me and my 7 year old son for fear of the Jeep blowing up or catching on fire! so I have to have it towed to quirk by aaa on Thursday October 16th. They tell me that it is a problem with the module in the fan. The whole fan has to be replace for $1000. 00. Don't get car back til Monday night October 20th. It isn't covered under warranty and I can't get a rental car unless I pay for it. I can’t work or do anything! quirk gave me a break and only charged me $400. 00 but that is still a lot of money for a single mom who was without her car for ¿4 days. 3. Wednesday October 22nd my check engine light comes on. The issue is evap leak, star case open for fuel filler tube. Ordered filler tube as not in stock. Quirk says they will help out again a little, but charge is going to be around $400. 00 but won't know until it gets fixed sometime next week and it takes about 2 hours for repair. More time lost from work. 4. November 16th---car will not start. It will not turn over or make any noise. Triple a came out to the house, got it started once and then it shut off and would not start again. Aaa guy said it is not the battery. Car being towed to quirk Jeep right now on 11 17 14 at noon. Quirk says 'no idea when they can look at' my Jeep! I pay $434. 37 a month for my Jeep loan! car has about 47,000 miles on it now and I am terrified to drive it for fear it won't start! I can't work. I have no money for christmas! what do I do? please help me!.
In April my car started randomly not starting. It's happened 4 times and been in the shop once for this issue. It is going again Monday 6/16 for the same issue. It will randomly not start, it randomly tries to stall on me. It will randomly not respond to pushing the power button. It will randomly make a high pitched squealing noise. It is very scary when it tries to stall because I can be riding down the interstate at 65 mph when it happens or sitting still at a red light. I drive over 120 miles per day and I cannot be stranded or stall out in the middle of the road. It's going to the shop again Monday to address the issue for the second time. Makes the 5th time the car has been in the shop for various issues since I've had it less than 15 months.

All of a sudden one day it was fine and next was terrible shuddering and lunging. Checked all fluids and oil was a bit low so filled to proper level. Water level was full. When I took to dealership Jeep they said I only had one pound of oil pressure and maybe it was lifters. In two week at the Jeep dealership I still do not have any answers. Engine sounded like it was starving for fuel. Had proper fuel in it and was sufficient. Terrible knocking and lunging action while driving carefully and slowly.

April 5, 2013, less than a year (purchased - 2012 Jeep grande cherokee laredo) the check engine light went on, took vehicle to service department, and informed my service provider (Jeep dealership) there is a "problem" with the cylinder head. Very disturbing because the vehicle was purchased brand new, less than 10k miles and already a major part must be replaced on a "brand new" vehicle. I am informed that is not a common, and there are several other owners with the same problem "check engine light on". Repair took more than three days, because the entire engine must be taken out to replace these two cylinders. Very alarming and very concerned for the future of this vehicle, what else could possibly go wrong next? two months later, driver side seat must be replaced due to cracks in the "leather". Two months after, brakes are making strange noises, acceleration very slow, stalls, must press very hard on gas pedal for vehicle to pick up speed, very frightening especially when entering the freeway. Door panels appears loose, the doors (3) will not stay open, requires extra push and hold before it stays open by itself. To close the door I must literally slam the door, otherwise not shut, very disturbing because my childrens sit back there. Hopefully this is my last encounter the cameras (back) of vehicle flash on and off, I am very concern especially when the position of the driver seat makes looking back very difficult, the camera cannot be functioning inefficiently. The vehicle has a 3/year or 36,000 mile warranty and with the amount of issues I have encountered I do not find that to be sufficient or even utterly appropriate. I purchased a brand new vehicle not a used. If there were no warranties I could not imagined paying out of pocket thousands of dollars on repairs.
Continuously exhibiting persistent progressively worsening life-threatening transmission and electrical failures. Transmission sticks in low gear and will not upshift, transmission stalls, push gas pedal to the floor and nothing happens, almost hit numerous times, gears jerk, rpms rev up and speed increases when applying brakes, will not slow down then bounces to a stop, interior lights short out, doors do not lock, electronic chirping sound from engine even when off, touchscreen/radio/climate controls do not work, total of 45 different defects, continuous since day purchased, sent 2 written notices to Chrysler, has been 8 months and no one will help, increasingly fearful for safety. Total of 43 days in shop and 14 attempts to repair same serious safety defects and conditions.
We purchased a new Jeep Grand Cherokee with 5 miles on it. Upon leaving the dealership the engine began making a strange noise. We brought the car back to the dealer and the mechanic told us to leave the car. It's 5 days later and all we know so far is that they have removed the front end of the transmission and they are still working on it. We don't have the car. Additionally, the front driver's side door was not flush with the body of the car. We asked them to look at the door to see if it was not installed properly. They offered to have the body shop bend the door.
The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle stalls and the rpm's begin to rise suddenly. The vehicle does not backfire, jerk, or make noises. The failure occurs while driving at any speed. The contact must activate the hazard lights and restart the engine. Usually, the vehicle restarts, but sometimes it takes 3 or 4 attempts to restart. The dealer replaced the crankshaft position sensor, which remedied the issue for a few hours. The failure recurred the same day she retrieved the vehicle from the dealer. The contact is scheduled to take the vehicle back to the dealer, but just wants the defect to be corrected properly. She researched the failure and found numerous complaints for the issue. She believes a recall should be issued for the defect. The current and failure mileages were 88,442.

Was driving on the highway. At about 65mph, the engine started revving from 3500 rpm all the way to 6000 rpm, but the speed didn't increase at all. Took the car to the shop and the mechanic said they ran a full diagnostics check and found nothing wrong with the cherokee. So I drove the Jeep for another month until it died on one early morning. I went to start the Jeep just like every morning, but this time the engine won't even turn or make a sound. The gauges indicators went beserks and bottomed out at the max. It looks like an electrical problem. I have yet to find out what exactly is wrong with the Jeep when I take it in to the dealer today.

Rear axle bearing failed; front axle is now producing same vibration and noise similar to rear component; dip stick installation wrong; and engine hesitation and sluggish acceleration when cold.
