Unexpected engine stall while driving on freeway. This is the second time experiencing unexpected stall out while drive after the recall was completed.
My car engine stalls when I make turns specially early in the morning for no reason it just stalls without warning but sometimes when I came to a stop light as well, very very unsafe & scary!!! I've been lucky usually in the lane close to the sidewalk so I can maneuver to the side but eventually my luck will run out, I'm very unease when I drive this vehicle as I don't when I'll happen. The tipm was already taken care of but I still have the problem is not all the time but it happens, I've taken it to the dealer right after it happens but they can not reproduce the problem or find any error codes.

Engine stall/shut off on a highway at 70 miles/hr in center lane of a five lane interstate highway with plenty of gas in the tank. Has happened three times on different days. I'm original owner. Heavy failure analysis done. Allege that Jeep cut corners that risk driver safety. They used and may still be using cheap chinese microprocessor chips in their program control modules (pcm). Fred bailey fatal accident is telling. His Jeep shut down on a bridge. Plenty of gas in the tank. Tractor trailer plows into the back of this Jeep (like mine). The gas tank explodes and he dies. . Ignition recall repairs made. Engine still stalls suddenly and without warning, while driving or stopped. After putting car in neutral or park, have to remove key and reinsert it to start engine. No power brakes, power steering, or air bag functionality when this occurs. Engine does not always start right away, leaving me stranded in the middle of traffic lanes or intersections. Serious hazard. Have taken it to the dealership again and no diagnosis. To attempt diagnosis now at dealership, am charged $130. If no diagnosis made, then I have to pay the charges. This is an untenable situation for which the Jeep manufacturer is not willing to assist - I have emailed Chrysler about this. To get rid of the car, I would have to trade it in at a dealership since it is not sellable privately due to this problem. The car stalls in motion or at rest and has quit on city streets and freeways - very dangerous!!! so far I have been lucky and have not had an accident. It has quit while in turns and when going straight. It is more likely to occur when the car is cold or the ambient temperature is cold. One day it stalled 5 times.

I bought a new Jeep Grand Cherokee and the transmission went out on the car going down a mountain! thank god for brakes as there was no control of the vehicle. The dealership replaced the car with one that is identical. It is brand new and I have had it for 3 weeks and it is doing the exact same thing as the other one. It gets stuck in gears. Engine stalls and revs up when changing gears! I fear for my life in this vehicle. Also, water pours from the base of the exhaust pipes. Not from the tips. . It unreal how much water pours out of the back of the vehicle!! this is a bad seriously grave situation! I called fletcher Dodge Jeep in sherwood arkansas where I bought the car and they told me that I needed to drive it 2. 5 hours to them so they can see if a shift relearn would work or if this car will be a lemon too!! they said the relearn only works on some of the vehicles!!! please halt Chrysler from the production of 8 speed automatic transmission as they do not know how to fix them and they are going to start killing people!.

I received a recall notice for the above vehicle. When I brought it to seaview Jeep in ocean NJ I was advised that the earliest appointment is September 15. My concern is that your recall notice states that "an intermittent or failed fuel pump relay could cause the engine to fail while driving and cause a crash without warning. " when I called Chrysler (800-992-1997) I was advised by the representative on the phone that the car was "more likely not to start" and "you cannot control the service schedule of the dealership". My question/concern/complaint is that how can you send out a recall that clearly states the engine could stall while driving and cause a crash without warning yet make someone wait 2 weeks for the appointment. My expectation would be that for a safety concern such as this I would not have to wait 2 weeks for the recall to be addressed when you clearly state a crash could occur please advise how this will be addressed thank you greg.
The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving at approximately 35 mph, the engine stalled without warning and caused the vehicle to go off the road and flip over three times. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was declared destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

While driving 55 mph on the freeway the esc light came on and then my engine stalled, power steering and brakes shut off. I had to get to the side of the road and slowly coast to the exit! with my two kids (both under 4) in the car. Talk about scary!!!! I had my car towed to a Jeep service center and after 4 days with my car - they said they could not duplicate nor find any issues. I had to pay $200. 00 for that answer…. Which I was not happy with!!! then today (July 12, 2015) while slowing down at a stop light - the same thing happened again!!!!!.
On 5/25 approximately 2:30 pm while merging onto the highway vehicle stopped accelerating and steering locked up and engine stalled out while in the right lane of the highway. Had to drift over to shoulder on left hand side on highway where speed limit 65 mph but drivers often do 75-80 mph. Vehicle would not restart and had to be towed.

On April 27, 2015 I received important safety recall #r09/NHTSA 14v-115 stating that my vehicle had a defective fuel pump relay which could cause the engine to stall while driving and cause a crash without warning. In other words a serious possibly deadly crash could occur following the sudden shut down of the engine and power systems. To date, Jeep/Chrysler/fca repeatedly has told me there are no parts to repair the defect and no projected date for repairs. The dealer will not provide a safe loaner vehicle in the interim. So, I drive a deadly vehicle (deadly for myself and other drivers) for some indeterminate period of time. If the vehicle is unsafe as it is reported to be, it should be parked and the manufacturer and dealer should provide an immediate fix or an alternate vehicle. This situation is absurd. Have we not learned anything from the gm ignition switch situation? apparently not.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving at approximately 30 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted; however, the failure recurred six times. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. As a result, the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ecm failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 798.

1-after quickly stopping on the side of the road to collect mail, I tried to go back into the road to continue driving but the steering wheel locked and I could not straighten the vehicle. I ended up crossing into the other side, going into the ditch and hitting a snow bank. Due to the very slow speed (I was speeding from the parked position) and to the luck that there were no other cars coming on the opposite direction, no harm was done. Dealership never found anything wrong with it. 2- I have had two safety recalls on this vehicle that have not been addressed on a reasonable time frame. For one of them, my car is at risk of fire under the hood, and for the other one, there could be engine stall and crash. Jeep has informed of both, but has not been able to provide my dealership with the appropriate parts for fixing the problems. So I have been driving around with small children in the back seat, risking myself and my family's lives and all they can do is tell me nothing can be done and good luck? because it's monetarily cheaper to pay for lost lives than to avoid the loss? something needs to be done, this vehicle was not a cheap one, however we have been treated like they are doing us a favor just for letting us a know we are at risk of dying from car crash due to it's malfunctions.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to provide the part for the repair. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.
I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I have taken my car to the dealership twice now for the engine stalling as I climb a hill and for it kicking into gear when sitting still with my foot still on the brake. The car jerks extremely hard to the point where you think you have been hit by another car. It also does this when switching between the first 3 gears. The first time I took it in, the dealership told me they had to adjust the computer on the engine. This did not work as I am still experiencing the same issue. I also have noticed a decrease in my mileage per gallon. I was getting 14 and am now getting 9 miles per gallon. My outlet buttons are all sticking on my dashboard and are hard to the touch to turn on. When trying to turn on one button, all buttons light up. Ie. . Parking assistance, skid control, etc. My headlights also would not turn on when driving. The only lights that worked were the high beams. This has happened to me three times while driving. The dealership states that they can not replicate the issue.
