I was involved in a intersection collision where another vehicle didn't stop and drove in front of my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I collided with the drivers door to the rear of the vehicle at a 20 mph speed. The other vehicles air bags deployed. My Jeep sustained front damage a cracked hood, grill, from bumper torn off I broke my right foot. My air bags didn't deploy on the impact and I didn't feel or see a sensor emergency braking.

I brought the subject vehicle in for recall items. I dealt with mr. Ralph alfano of arroway. I immediately advised that I was profoundly deaf, and I may not fully understand all conversation. I was processed to have the recall work done and brought the vehicle in on November 9, 2017. During the day I spoke to the service department on my cell phone. They advised an additional part had to be installed. I could not understand fully what they were telling me, but the work was done. It turned out that they felt that they had to replace the impact sensor on the airbag, and for this they charged me $315. 83. As this is related to the defective module of the recalled airbag, this should be part of the recall (and not charged to the owners of the vehicles). I ask you to intercede in this and take action to protect the consumers from being charged for this additional work. Is this not part of the recall? your public notice does not fully describe the repair and parts that are included (NHTSA recall number 15v-046). Please follow up and advise.

After picking up my vehicle from my local Jeep dealer on the afternoon of Thursday Aug 27th, where it had been for a week for service repairs, one of which was the removal of the console to repair the emergency brake, I noticed that the light on the dashboard showing air bag deactivated was illuminated. I was out of town on vacation until this last Friday sept. 4th, and I took it back to the dealer this morning, and they did find a wire that was disconnected, but there was a sensor that had failed. They refuse to own up to the fact that they did something during the emergency break repair period that deactivated the air bags and told me the $480 repair to replace the seat sensor is my responsibility. Until this problem is repaired, I cannot safely transport a passenger in that front seat, so I have at this time no choice but to have this dealer make that repair.
The contact owns a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While operating the vehicle, the air bag sensor light illuminated, which indicated that the air bag system was faulty. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. In February of 2015, the recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 15v046000 (air bags) was received. After contacting the dealer on multiple occasions, the contact was informed that the part needed to repair the vehicle was not available and no estimated time for receiving the part could be given. The failure mileage was 168,000.
On Jan 7, 2015, while I was driving towards the garage, my vehicle (grand cherokee 2013) suddenly (unexpectedly) accelerated and, although I pressed the brake pedal, it crashed against the wall. The vehicle activated airbags burning and bruising my body; I went to the er and received medical assistance. Some of the parts replaced for this crash included, bumper and hood assemblies, a/c ducts and evaporator, grille, radiator, headlight, computer, wiper wash canister, water pump, fan, seat belt and one fender, etc. In addition the crash toll caused structural damages to the property. The service shop completed the repairs on Feb 27, 2015. On March 2 and may 20, 2015 I took the vehicle to the authorized service center because of transmission shifting failures. They finally changed the whole transmission by may 29, 2015. On July 2 I took it back to the service center because there was a noisy riding and check engine was on; by July 16 they had replaced one shock absorber, the gas pump and tank, and one oxygen sensor (mileage at this point 22,594). On July 22, 2015 I went back again because of check engine and they kept the vehicle for replacing the catalyst. Because of the unexpected acceleration event, all abovementioned repairs, plus five executed recalls (one still open r909/NHTSA 14v-115) and an imminent sixth recall for start button (that does not shuts off); I don¿t trust this vehicle¿s safety and quality. I¿m afraid of hurting me or someone else; I could not afford repairs at upcoming warranty expiry. Therefore, I hope you buy back this defective Grand Cherokee 2013.

1. Allegedly repaired two weeks earlier, the "ocr," an airbag sensor, failed. This part apparently is located under the front passenger seat. "service airbag system" was displayed. 2. On Monday, may 26, 2014 a seat belt warning appeared on the electronic display and a chime rang for 10 minutes or so. Both the driver and the passenger in the front seat were belted in. 3. On Monday, may 26, 2014 the cruise control became inoperative. The electronic display showed "cruise control unavailable. " in the past the forward collision warning (fcw) has shown phantom alerts, telling me to "brake! brake! brake!" even though there no vehicles or objects in front of the Jeep. At other times, the fcw showed no alert even though another vehicle suddenly appeared in front of the Jeep.

Airbag light is on , took vehicle to Jeep dealer to diagnose problem and was told that there is a problem with the control module as per NHTSA id # 12v527000 however was told by Chrysler as of date has a no fix solution for the problem to just keep driving the vehicle until a fix is found , so my college age son is now driving a vehicle with faulty airbags. I asked them why they could not replace the faulty module with a new one under this recall ( 12v527000 ) and was told no unless I paid for it and that Chrysler would not pay for it as replacement is not what is stipulated in the recall for which they have no fix .
I received notice of a recall for the airbag sensor on the 2003 Jeep cherokees. I was informed that the airbag may deploy at any time while the vehicle is operating. It has been one year since I was notified of this issue and the Chrysler dealership has yet to send the parts necessary to fix this problem to any of the dealerships. I am currently driving around with my airbag sensor on, and not knowing if and when my airbag will deploy. This frightens me because I currently live in the mountains, and not knowing how I will react to airbag deploying. One year is definitely an ample amount of time for the Chrysler dealership to send these parts out, especially for a recall like this that has produced injuries.
Received notice 11/8/12 that NHTSA campaign number 12v527000 was issued for a recall of 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee on which a component in the air bag control module may fail causing airbag deployment. Although we have received numerous notices, since January 2013 and as recently as January 2, 2014, from Chrysler corporation and both local Chrysler dealers, to alert us to this recall, upon attempting to schedule our Jeep for recall resolution our local dealers have been unable to schedule that resolution. Both dealers claim that no parts are available "yet" to service the recall. This claim as been stated by the dealers every four months since January 2013 and again as recently as January 4, 2014. It appears to me as a consumer that Chrysler has no intention of providing the means to resolve this recall.

2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee - seat & airbag deployment sensors - check engine light came on, and took vehicle to dealer for inspection. Dealer stated that seat sensor tied to airbag deployment velocity was malfunctioning ($300 to replace). Dealer re-checked next day and found all 4 sensors malfunctioning (when 150# man sits in seat, sensors read 250# man). Now all 4 sensors need to be replaced ($1000) and fasten seatbelt light/bell sound endlessly. Dealer won't replace (out of warranty), neither will Jeep.
This Jeep has failed me in every way possible. Its unsafe and unreliable. At 68k the transmission went out in the middle of a dangerous highway almost wrecked, Jeep said sorry warranty ran out at 65k. All 4 windows have fell out with a bang, multiple sensors have gone out, relay sensor, all shocks that hold up hood and lift gates have failed. Radiator sprung a leak on Monday and parking brake failed/broke/took it in for the airbag check on may 16 two months ago and its is one of the bad ones . . Was told parts were ordered. Now the light is on and wont go off. . Was told I have no airbag at all that will deploy. . . Very unsafe and unfair. Now its inspection time with this mess and no fix from Jeep. They need to handle this and get sued. . . They have put my life in danger many times.
The contact owns a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 30 mph he rear-ended another vehicle. The vehicle was severely damaged, and none of the air bags deployed. The vehicle was repaired according to recall# 97v080000 (air bags: frontal: sensor/control module) in 1997. A technician from the dealer was in the process of determining the cause of the failure. A police report was available. The failure and current mileages were 140000.

My husband was involved in a near head on collision. He was traveling about 10 mph and was hit by a vehicle going about 35mph. His fender hit the center of our grill. Our bumper was torn off, the hood pushed up to the windshield and the motor pushed to a 45 deg. Angle. The Jeeps airbags did not deploy, the other vehicles did.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The consumer states the air bags sensor module is faulty. The light goes on, and it not making communication with the air bags. The dealership states the consumer needs a new module. This started September 11, 2005.

Air bag light stays on for no apparent reason in my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo (4. 0 liter, 6 cyl. ) I understand a recall was issued for the exact same problem for the '97-99 Jeep cherokee which stated: air bag could deploy unexpectedly and injure driver. Alternatively, air bag warning light could come on for no apparent reason. Models: 391,623 sport-utility vehicles made 7/96-6/99. What to have dealer replace air-bag control module, positioning it on top of transmission tunnel.
The air bag light illuminated intermittently while driving. Dealer was notified. Although there was a recall concerning the clock spring dealer informed the consumer that his vehicle was not covered under the recall due to VIN.
The airbag light started coming on in my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee so I took it to the dealership where I purchased the Jeep. They told me that the airbag module has gone bad . How can that be when I never had to use it? to get that fix it cost $500. I began looking up on the internet to see the cost of it. I looked at autozone website to see how much the part cost upon that I came across a recall for my Jeep. It's for the air bag light on/accidental deployment. I called daimlerchrysler as stated on the recall . They have given me the run around about the recall. I hope someone in your department look into this as soon as possible because this is not very safe. I know im not the only person to complain about the airbag light in this type of Jeep. Please help us before someone get hurt or die. When it's time for the airbag to really work it probably want. So before it happen please help everybody out who is having the same problem thank you lmorgan.

Airbag dash indicator light stays illuminated after start. Dealer service thinks this is caused by a defective airbag system control module. The cost to replace is $600 but they can't be sure if it is not fixed whether or not the airbag system will deploy in an accident.
