Was in an accident traveling approx 30mph hit another car (t-bone) traveling approx 50mph with major intrusion to opposing car with significant front end damage to my car there was no airbag deployment. This was reported to collision center through dealer possibly sending car to get tested for faulty airbags.

Me and my room mate were driving back from my job when a lady in a car passed a red light. We hit the lady head on at 45 mph and neither one of the driver or the passenger airbag's deployed. The vehicle was a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Oct 13, 2008 my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited, VIN # experienced an unexplained driver and passenger airbag deployment, while stopped with the engine running. I was unhurt, but my passenger who was reaching over to shake hands with a neighbor was slightly injured (no hospitalization). Insurance, Jeep dealers, extended warranty parties would not repair bags. Jeep (corporate) did send investigator and did arrange for air bags to be repaired at spring Chrysler Jeep in spring, TX. The dealer, per corporate directive, replaced both airbags and seat belt modules. They did not replace any wiring harnesses, or other associated parts. The dealer did not attempt to determine the actual cause of the accident. They were directed to send the removed parts to Chrysler. Since they did not or would/could not disclose to me the defect and did not replace the entire system, I am very concerned (scared) for my safety. An uncommanded airbag deployment (rare or none documented since no severe injuries occurred) could have catastrophic consequences. The SUV is currently at the dealer. It was ready/repaired 16 Dec 2008. I am not sure how to handle this. Could you please help? tr jones.

Failure of air bag clock spring.

On July 4, 2008, airbag inadvertently deployed while traveling on highway with no collision involved. The airbag deployment damaged the airbag system, right dashboard, windshield, steering wheel, glove compartment door, and air conditioning system, caused complaints to incur rental vehicle expenses, loss of use and devaluation of his vehicle, inconvenience, and caused redness and irritation to face, neck, and chest and aggravated asthma.

Parked overnight and when return to get Jeep the passenger air bag had deployed. There wasn't any collision or impact. There was evidence of the glove box had been melted and wires burned inside.

The contact owns a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 45 mph, the contact struck an embankment and caused the vehicle to flip. The seat belt detached and none of the air bags deployed. The contact landed in the passenger seat and her head went through the moon roof. A police report was filed. The powertrain was unknown. I was recently in an auto accident going about 30 mph where I ran into the rear end of another vehicle. I drive a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo. My 8 year old daughter had a pulmonary appointment. We were leaving the doctor's office, a lot of traffic, I drove on the on ramp to the highway 285 westbound. While driving onto the interstate, my Jeep Grand Cherokee '02, a beep sounded, I looked at the dashboard and the "airbag" light came on and within not even a second, both airbags deployed while I was driving. The steering wheel is destroyed, the dashboard and the front glass. Smell and smoke filled the SUV while I was able to drive the SUV over to the side of the highway. My child was crying from being so scared. I called the dealer that I always used to service my Jeep to see if I could drive off the highway. I was afraid being on a busy atlanta highway, a crying 8 year old and smoke coming out of the SUV. They told me no and to call Chrysler for tow. I did and they were going to take me to the nearest Jeep dealer (roswell, GA) but would be 50 min. Wait. I explained to them that I was on an extreme busy highway, and 8 year old and had to get off this highway now. While talking, a tow truck pulled off in front of me. He spoke to Chrysler and arranged for "payment directly from Chrysler" and drove us to roswell, GA. The dealer would not give me a rental car. I called my insurance company. I got rental which the dealership called hertz for me and they (hertz) picked my child up and myself and drove us to their shop to get a car. I am now driving a rental and have no ideal who is paying for this. My husband called the manager at the dealership and was told that they could not touch the SUV and someone from chrylser safety looked at the car. I just called chrylser's 1-800 number and told them the incident and wanted a person's name, number and how is this procedure handled. I was told by "lachina" (spelling?) that it was usually 3 business days, no person contact but yet "someone should call me prior to viewing. " I asked how my rental situation would be handled and she did not know.

My car has major problems and I can't afford to fix, then I find the problem that I have is due to the automaker's problem because the car is on recalls for the problems I am having. I received no notices on any recall, and when I got on the web-site to check for recalls there are as many as 10 major problems with my car and Jeep. Some could cause me to crash or even explode while driving. Where are my recall notices?.

My wife and I purchased a 2006 Jeep wk 4x4 on Feb 20 2006. As soon as we left the dealership with 150 miles on it the air bags malfunctioned and had to be repaired. About 1 week after the repairs they malfunctioned again and where fixed again only to malfunction 2 more times and the dealership said there was no problems and cleared the codes. At the 3000 mile service there was an oil leak on the front crank seal which was replaced. It has also been in the shop 5 times due to an engine malfunction light in which case there was a multiple cylinder misfire, the dealership said there where no problems and cleared the code every time only for it to come back on. I just picked my vehicle up from the dealer again because the crank pulley and dampener where wobbling real bad and the check engine light was on again for the same reason. All repairs where made and after I left the dealership 15 miles down the road the light came back on. The transmission shudders when I'm stopped and shifts real hard. The dealership said its fine and there is now evidence of that. All these incidents are ongoing since the day it was purchased.

Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision with another vehicle at 25-30 mph. Upon impact, neither frontal air bags deployed. No injury was reported. Dealer and the manufacturer were not notified.

The consumer was involved in an accident and neither of the frontal air bags deployed. The driver was injured and was out of work from may 2 to July 19. The driver still has pain in her neck and leg. Her left arm and lower back were also sprained. The passenger has bruise chest and breast.

While driving 65 mph vehicle was involved in a head on collision. Upon impact, neither air bag deployed. As a result, driver sustained severe injuries to the upper body.

Crossed into intersection and hit a vehicle broadside traveling aprox 55mph (I was almost stopped). Extensive front end impact damage to Jeep. Will probably be totaled. Neither driver, or passenger airbag deployed.

While driving at 30mph, the vehicle experienced a front end collision, where the air bags didn't deployed. Ts scc.

On the night of 02/05/2010 we were driving on fwy 14 nb and earlier that night was raining hard. Due to the storm there was a lot of water on the freeway and I lost control of the Jeep. The car began making circles and then it roll over on the right site of the freeway and the air bags failed to open. We had the seat belts on, but for this type of accident where the car became a total lost , the air bags must had been activated. Luckily we are alive. We could had died and we want to prevent this happen to anyone who owned a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002.
