2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee . The vehicle's front driver side wheel fell off while the consumer was driving. The consumer stated when the wheel fell off, the vehicle slid 180 feet down the parkway, in which the vehicle continually slammed into the concrete divider. Afterwards, the consumer noticed the entire wheel had disconnected from the vehicle. The dealer informed the consumer that there was no grease in the ball joint, which caused the ball part of the joint to grind down like sandpaper, metal on metal, in which the ball slipped out of the socket.

Vehicle has been in for this and other problems. Tires are becoming severely worn. Was told that new ball joint has been installed. Vehicle still pulls right. All tires were cross rotated which evens wear and reduces pull for several hundred miles. I will contact dealer and Chrysler direct in attempt to have problem resolved. I am angry that the tires are wearing at an unreasonable rate which will cause pre-mature replacement. I like the vehicle and would like to have the problem(s) resolved so it does not continue to drive to the right. Thank you. Please do not hesitate to call and perhaps leave a message so I might return your call during your work hours. I am a school teacher and cannot talk during class time. Sincerely, e. Meisser.
