1 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/15/2018

It's been since may 2018 with in/out visits to the dealership for a constant problem. My steering wheel wobbles over 70mph on my 2015 Grand Cherokee wk2 high altitude, all standard features. This started after 26k miles and now I have 39k miles. I've researched dozens of forums and read through tsbs with no solution. I had the dealer replace the tires, twice, with michelin premier ltx 20inch tires, several road force tests, high speed balances, several alignments, rack and pinion replaced, front wheel bearing assemblies replaced, all new shocks and after alllllllllll of that, she still wobbles!!!!!!! the dealer has thrown their hands up and will not help me any further. The steering wheel only wobbles between 70-80mph. Another customer's wheels were placed on my car and tested with same issue. Privately owned alignment centers also confirmed a spot on alignment and wheel balance. All bushings appear to be intact. The Jeep is not safe to drive on the highway.

2 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of the 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 05/14/2014

While driving there is a shutter at all speeds. On this day after hitting a small bump the wheel started shaking as slowing down it violently shook where you coundn't hold the wheel. I had blisters trying to control it. I was told brakes bearing etc. Replaced brakes caliber rotors tires wheel bearing still did it replaced steering damper and the violent shake was gone yet still had shutter at all speeds. Ive been all over the front end and had several mechanic look to we cant find anything about the shutter. While driving 12/14/2014 making a curve hit a bump in road and the violent shake started again almost put me in a 4 foot calvert. I been reviewing the same complaint all over the internet affect all types and years of Jeep. What is the true problem so I can fix this before it kills me or someone else.

3 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/09/2007

I am having a problem with the steering, brakes, and the heat vent. When turning left or right, it makes this awful noise. When applying the brakes, the steering wheel and the front end begins to shake. I took the vehicle to get the brakes changed and they said the pads look fine. When I had the heater on, it was blowing cold air on the passenger side.

4 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 09/14/2006

Tie rods, wheel bearings, ball joints, fan clutch, shorted engine compartment wiring harness, fuel pump assembly all gone wrong from time of purchase; January 2000/brand new to sept. 2006. . . Some pd. Under warranty others after 2004 not; even though the defects usually do not happen to a Jeep Grand Cherokee/fully loaded. The last straw was the ball joints; we asked if some form of recall should of been done and then asked for a reimbursement because my wife's' 2004 Jeep liberty limited had a recall on it's ball joints/lower ones so after having mine replaced last Friday 9/15/2006 we asked about the Grand Cherokee and it's ball joints; we also updated on all the defects we've had to correct and wondered if it wasn't a expensive lemon. . . $35,000. 00 is what I paid. We called Chrysler main customer service and was only told were sorry, the age of the Jeep and past warranty. . . What does that have to do with all the past defects since 2000 and the fact we tried their customer service in 2002 and got no where again. No matter the age of the vehicle. . . Safety is safety. And if ball joints go bad for no reason and have to be replaced then, it should go as a safety concern for all their vehicles.

5 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/01/2006

[1] at 128,000 plus miles I heard a grinding sound coming from under the car [2] the mechanic who worked on the vehicle found that all the bearings both front and rear were worn or corroded along with spacing rings on the rear axel. He indicated that they were defective original equipment, that bearings do not corrode or wear out with the mileage that the car had been driven. [3] all the bearings and spacers required replacing.

8 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/14/2004

Because front wheels were running hot and vehicle was vibrating when using the brakes, front wheel bearings had to be replaced at 62,000 miles. Chrysler "800+ added care" waranty does not cover those bearings on 4wd Jeeps but does cover them on front-wheel drive Jeeps (?).

9 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 10/29/2003

I purchased my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee in 1999. I have been in and out of the dealer service for repeat major problems. My tire squeaked loudly while driving and after a year of not finding the problem, and fixing what they thought was the problem the left front wheel bearing was replaced and solved that problem. During the problem with the squeak they informed me that the transfer case had a problem and the solution was to drain and refill the 4wd transfer case fluid, I had them complete the service. Also during my cargo door would not open neither would the window, they replaced the latch lift. The next problem was that I was noticing smoke coming from underneath my hood. I brought that to their attention and they notice a fluid leak and had to replace my cylinder head gasket. The smoke was still there after that effort and now my transmission has went out. I need an overhaul transmission that will cost $1800. 00 because now it's out of warranty. When I called the dealership they made it seem as if I did not take care of my vehicle. When my Jeep needs servicing I always went to the dealership (5 star) so they can help me take care of my investment. Any needed repair that was requested I had done. My Jeep only has 57,000 miles on it. The crysler company has most definitely lost a customer.
