Tried to enter vehicle. Would not unlock using passive key fob. Had to use a key to unlock door. Once door unlocked, the security horn started. Had to re-lock door to shut horn off. Door would now unlock using passive system. Have had numerous instances of the vehicle not recognizing the key fob. Had to take it out of my pocket and hold it close to the dash or open and close the door several times before being able to start the vehicle.

Intermittent electrical problem -- alarm sounds, horns honk, lights flash, radio comes on at all hours, day or night, when car is not running, parked in driveway, on its own, without fobs or people nearby. Car does not have an alarm system! panic button on fob not pushed. Racket stops after ~15 minutes, on its own, until the next incident anywhere from a week to several weeks later. June 12, 2014, there were two incidents on the same day, once in the morning, while driving, once in the late afternoon when parked and not running. No error codes in vic. Car starts and runs normal with all the racket the going on, but there is no way to stop the flashing lights. Pulling the two fuses for the horns leaves only the flashing lights, but no horns if they are needed. Headlights switch ineffective. Lights continue to flash when headlights are turned on as if circuit is bypassed.

Noticed that the head lights would automatically come on while the car was in park and shut off (headlight switch on auto) the radio controls on the steering wheel would work once in awhile the same for the cruise controls plus the horn does not work at all know did work when I bought it in April 06. I noticed when I played with the tilt steering something is would work some wouldn't. I believe that this might affect the airbag from deploying if in a wreck.

Two issues. 1. The driver and passenger doors on the vehicle are not designed to stay open. They return with excessive force and have dinged ankles several times. Anyone more frail will have a cracked ankle. 2. The horn is too difficult to activate.

The horn will not work consistently. The lights will flash on an off erratically while driving. The lights will come on after being turned off and parked overnight leaving the battery dead. The fan motor has failed for the defroster again. This is the second repair. In the snow belt this is a safety related feature.

I purchased my Jeep Grand Cherokee new in 2000. For a new vehicle it has spent much time in the Jeep repair shop. Problems include: door locks (2 repaced - driver side and passenger side over $200 each), electrical switch replaced (lights, honking horn, etc. $175. 00), ignition or start switch replaced (@250. 00), coolant - water pump ($375. 00), air conditioner has had problems. All parts have been replaced. The Jeep has been taken good care of but I would think seriously about purchasing another Jeep considering all the problems I have had with this one.

My horn has not worked for many years until yesterday my husband who dirves my Jeep rarely was driving it and had a close call and he hit the horn and it worked? he tried to do it again and it failed to work. This is a one owner car and we have never taken it in to have it checked out. Not sure if it has something to do with the air bag assembly in the steering wheel or what it could be. Please advise if any other complaints and possible fixes for this problem. Thank you.

Horn stuck "on" aproximately 6 times over the past year. Dealer states bad horn contacts. Had horn contacts replaced in steering wheel, dealer says defective airbag prohibits horn from working. Horn now stays "on" all the time. Dealer wants $700. 00 to replace defective air-bag. In the process of contacting Chrysler home office.

Consumer states the horn sounds weak.
Whenever horn is hit, it fails to blow or make any noise. Took vehicle to dealership & mechanic replaced the horn. Cuttently horn has shorted out & only makes faint noises, is very weak.
The air bag readiness indicator comes on when the vehicle is started. I took the vehicle into to dealer to have it investigated. They told me that it was the clockspring assembly. The indicator light will go off usually after driving for 30-45 minutes. I tested the cruise and horn when the indicator lamp is on. Both work whenever I checked.
Both horns shorted out and failed to work.
When locking the car with the remote, horn is supposed to chirp indicating that the alarm is armed, however horn sticks until fuse is blown.
Horn failed.
Horn did not work since purchased.
The gas guage failed on two separate occasions while driving. Vehicle lost power/stalled. Also, horn failed, and vehicle has two leaks in the body of the vehicle.
Horn button is difficult to locate.
Horn has never consistently worked.
The vehicle experienced multiple problems. The horn failed. The interior lights failed. The door locks were inoperative. The abs light and the brake light came on and remained on. The vehicle overheated when at idle for more than a few minutes. This problem has been addressed more than three times with no resolution. The brakes vibrated and this has been a problem since the first year of purchase. The consumer has requested Jeep to buy back the vehicle. Mr scc.
