Ignition Problems of Jeep Grand Cherokee - part 2

Consumer contacted the dealer about an ignition problem. Mechanic stated that a cause could not be determined. Consumer informed the mechanic. When driver entered into the vehicle and started it up, and while driving driver's knees hit against the ignition. This caused the vehicle to shut down intermittently, but driver was able to restart it.

My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a defect in the ecm that Chrysler is aware of but will do nothing to fix this problem currently. The vehicle's engine has died at stop lights, it has stumbled, and/or hesitated upon accelerating from stop, and runs so poorly at an idle while setting it shakes the whole vehicle. Chrysler is aware of the problem but is doing nothing to fix this problem on the 2004 Grand Cherokee's. I was basically told by Chrysler that I would have to live with this problem running the risk of my vehicle's engine stopping unexpectedly when it could result in an accident. My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee is basically an accident waiting to happen if the engine should unexpectedly die at the wrong moment when accelerating.

While traveling on highway and without prior warning, rotor attached to distributor cap burned out. Dealership was aware of problem.

Jeep dealership cannot find any electrical faults which cause engine to shut off at highway speed. This has occurred two times and reported to NHTSA database. I replaced a brand new factory battery per the dealer recommendation after a full system dianogstic which revealed nothinhg. But only two weeks after the dianostic, I had to replace a daytime running lamp module; and currently the door ajar indicator light is reversed. I think Jeep has major electrical system faults which they are denying from the many complaints I am reading online.

First problem : ignition stops working, if steering is truned and then tried it starts. This problem happens anytime. Dash light dims if I puts on the headlight and flickers while driving.

The rollover valve gas tank and fuel pump leaked. Also, consumer complained of brake problems, such as caliper replacement every 6 months. In addition, ignition malfunctioned. Consumer attempted to start the vehicle at least 3 times before it actually started.
