Since then, I have not heard anything from the dealership and my vehicle has lost power 3 times after I picked up my vehicle. I was backing out of my driveway when the vehicle lost power the first time and twice sitting at a red light. I need this resolved right away. I took my car into the dealer (stephen wade auto, saint george, utah) and was told the part was not available and they would contact me when they had news. I called stephen wade one year later in *July 2015*. They said the part was still not available and they would call me. Today ( oct. 13, 2015 ) I received another safety recall notice but this time it is from fiat Chrysler for exactly the same recall as I received July 2014. I decided to contact you / NHTSA. I don't want the utah highway patrol to be picking me up with a blotter on the interstate 15 when I go air born because someone can't supply a replacement ignition switch. This has definitely put a cramp on my ability to visit the grandson because he's 350 miles away and I'm really not pleased how this is being handled by ???? if you need copies / photos of my notices, please contact me and I'll gladly upload them to you. 62 Ignition Switch problem of the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Failure Date: 10/08/2015

On multiple occasions, my vehicle has shown symptoms that appear to be related to the recent Chrysler ignition switch recall. One persisting problem is when I am driving with my headlights on, the interior lights (dashboard, radio, and climate control illumination) and all exterior lights (headlights, tail lights, and any other illuminated position lights) will rapidly flash on and off. Currently, my remedy for this problem, when it is happening, is to turn on the turning indicator which appears to return the lights to normal. More recently, while leaving my neighborhood, all of my dashboard warning lights illuminated and then the dashboard went dark all together. The remedy for this problem was to turn the car completely off and back on again. Last but not least, while traveling about 65 mph on a highway, my knee bumped the ignition key which switched the car to the accessory position, rendering the car powerless.

Failure Date: 09/24/2015

I am still waiting for Chrysler to preform the p41 recall work on my car. Chrysler was found criminally liable for this switch. The recall has been in place since July 2014. I get notices that the part is not available. So far three notices over the past year saying that they don't have a new switch available. Really??? it takes one year to design, manufacturer, and transport an ignition switch, does no one work in detroit. I have had the car not start because of the switch, and when I crank again it starts. I took to dealer for this problem in 2008. I was told that this was normal, the car's computer was re-setting so that I can start. Dealer has gone bankrupt since and closed. I am tired of excuses from Chrysler. When will they do their job and fix this problem. I want this done because my family rides in this car everyday. I am also concerned about the gas tank, because car has been rear-ended three times.
