My 21 Jeep cherokee shipped from detroit stellantis huge cover up flood car. My Jeep is 8 mons new. I leased it 12/7 contacted uconnect on 12/13 for powertrain malfunction indicator light on. Dealer only recorded oil change on car fax. 3/31st- June I filed a buy back claim w/ Chrysler. Chrysler denied. At dealer 6/11 code p060a, stop/ start doesn’t work, car stalls, radio turns up/down on its own, center consaul base popped out, burning oil life rapidly. No work done. At dealer 6/14 ”faulty oil pump” said manager, car bucks on highway, car locked me out at 12:30 am called uconnect they couldn’t bypass. In 2019 my engine light went on with code p0520 - oil pressure sensor. I replaced the oil pressure sensor and the engine light came back on a month later with the same code p0520, so I replaced the oil pressure sensor for a second time. Less than a month later I began getting a generic code p06dd. I have sense replaced the oil pressure sensor a 3rd time along with the oil filter housing and oil pump. It was fine for about a week but then code p0520 - oil pressure sensor returned. There issue is not mechanical and no one has been mechanical as all of the parts associated with the code have been replaced repeatedly. Nobody is able to resolve it and I cannot pass inspection until they do.

While accelerating to merge onto the highway, the check engine light came on and I could not accelerate above approximately 45 mph or 3000 rpms. I let off the gas thinking the Jeep would slow, but it didn't slow down. I was able to decelerate by braking (obviously). However, I was still unable to go faster than approximately 45 mph or 3000 rpms. I took it into the shop twice before because the check engine light came on, and I was told the oil pump was stuck on low (?) this has been an ongoing issue for the past four months. There has always been something wrong with this vehicle despite regular service maintenance visits.

I was driving approximately 70mph on interstate 75 southbound Wednesday may 17, 2017. All of sudden my several lights on dashboard came on - engine light, abs, electric throttle warning light. My Jeep started decelerating very quickly. I put on my hazards as I tried to pull over to side of road. Once I was on side of interstate, I pushed on gas pedal and engine revved but the car didn't accelerate and speedometer stayed at 0. I immediately called tow service and brought car to ferman Jeep in lutz, florida. At cost of 400. 00 for inspection, I was told engine chain guide failed causing my timechain to snap and shredded my oil pump and bent crank shaft. That was just the initial analysis. And ferman wanted to authorize an additional 400. 00 to look further into engine. At that point, we discussed how much repairs were going to be and our service advisor said at that point a new engine would be best. I am very concerned because a quick internet search reveals 5. 7liter hemi engine recall for Dodge and chyrsler cars from 2009-2012 for this exact reason. My service advisor said the Jeep hemi engine was same engine as Dodge and Chrysler engine involved in recall. I was at same mileage range that people discussed on internet within that recall and driving at same speed and driving automatic transmission. I contacted Jeep customer service and was told they couldn't help me but would make a note for safety reasons. I really feel NHTSA needs to explore that Jeep should extend recall to Grand Cherokee engines at 5. 7 hemi.

The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact heard a noise from the engine compartment. The contact had to maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road. The check engine warning indicator illuminated followed by the entire instrument panel. The vehicle would not restart and was towed to an independent mechanic. It was diagnosed that the oil pump failed and the entire engine shut down. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the same diagnosis was rendered. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000.
I own a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4. 0l 6 cylinder motor. The engine has been showing zero oil pressure, after replacing 2 oil pressure switches, and an oil pump. The vehicle constantly overheats. Now, it was suggested by the dealer the cylinder head my be cracked. After reading about my vehicle on-line, there are more than numerous similar incidents with other Jeep owners.

2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 5. 7l hemi 4x4. Experiencing loud engine noise when first started. Most noticeable when engine is cold. More pronounced on colder days than warmer days. Appears to eventually subside after engine reached maximum operating temperature. Noise is not engine piston slap, does nopt increase when engine revolutions are increased, rather, it appears to subside, indicating valve train noise due to hydraulic lifter not fully pumping up, resulting in valve train chatter reminiscent of mechanical lifters needing adjustment, due to cold oil (higher viscosity) or low oil pump pressure. Changing to manufacturer recommended mobile1 seems to increase noise.

At 17,000 miles my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo freedom v-8 4. 7 ho engine developed a rough idle. The dealer cleaned out the fuel injector and the problem did not go away. 2nd time they put it on the computer and couldn't find anything wrong. The #2 piston popped in and out so the mechanics agreed something was wrong and recommended a new engine; but the manager wouldn't do anything. They agree the vehicle runs rough and notice the vehicles on the lot run smooth. They suggested I change the spark plugs which cost me over $200. 00 and that did not help. The dealer did change the oil pump and put in 8 new lifters. This still did not take care of the problem. The district manager stated all the Jeeps run that way. He and the manager above him both state they will do nothing for me and they are closing the book. I have talked to several Jeep owners with the same vehicle. Some have a rough idle and some run very smooth. Other reliable people have told me the problem is the computer. When I told the service manager he said to put the engine in low and it will jump the computer into shape. The idle is getting worse and has affected my gas mileage. I am still under warranty and am getting no where with Jeep or Chrysler. I now have over 31,000 miles and am nearing the end of my warranty. I don't know what will happen if the computer just dies. I imagine the engine will stop on the road and possibly cause an accident. If you could look into this I would appreciate it. I just want Chrysler to stand by their product and come up with a solution so I can be assured of a safe vehicle. Another thing is they never give me paperwork after they've had my car for a few days to check things out. They always tell me it's still open and when everything is finished they'll give me paperwork.
