Dash lights flicker and vehicle routinely and randomly will not start. We have been stranded at least 2 dozen times. 2 dealers and an independent mechanic could not locate the problem. Battery, starter, starter relay and key fob's replaced. Vehicle was taken to dealer in Nov 2014 and now on may 11, 2015 ignition switch recall still has not been performed due to lack of parts.

The contact owns a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start. After multiple attempts, the vehicle started successfully. The contact also stated that he replaced the battery, starter, and starter relay at independent repair shops, but the failure continued. The vehicle was then taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer. The failure mileage was 105,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and failed to restart. The failure recurred numerous times and was towed on four separate occasions to the dealer and an independent mechanic. The control module, the starter, and the starter relay were replaced on separate occasions. The contact also mentioned that the keyless remote was reprogrammed. The failure persisted after the repairs were performed. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system) however, the part needed to perform the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
