I am experiencing a rattling sound when driving uphill or downhill through driveway, traveling 5-20 miles an hour. I took my Jeep 2002 Liberty 2wd to get serviced and received recommended repairs: prosteer control arm with ball joint upper center, remove and install propeller shaft to replace universal joints on both ends, rear wheel bearings, tail pipe is welded to muffler, muffler does not meet design specifications and should be replaced due to exhaust leak as well, remove rack and pinion, complete rack as does not meet design specifications and is leaking. I was driving about 25 mph and my rear right side tire was smoking profusely. I pulled over and noticed the gray smoke from my tire. I took the car to check the rear breaks. They were fine but was told that I had a leak from the exhaust pipe which dripped on to that area. The car has 75,806 miles. I was told that I could loose control of vehicle and entire area can collapse during traffic due to these issues. Aside from these issues, I am experiencing a whistling sound, problems with rear drivers side passenger power window regulator which produces grind-like sound. The window came off and I was told that I needed a new regulator for the window. I'm also experiencing a red stain in engine oil drippage on ground. Finally, strange odor from car -odor continues to be present whether I wash the carpets and seats (smells like mold/mildew or skunk).

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. Whenever the vehicle would warm up, the vehicle made a clinging sound that appeared to originate from the blower. Within three days, the sound worsened and the steering became stiff. The vehicle would veer to the left or right and was severely out of alignment. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that both of the wheel bearings needed to be replaced and that it was very uncommon for both wheel bearings to become defective. It was assumed that the wheel bearings were originally defective. The wheel bearings were replaced by the dealer, but she believes that a recall should be issued. The current and failure mileages were 70,000.

I received the recall letter in the mail regarding the ball joints and I took my car to lynch Chrysler in chicago for repairs back in 2003 or 2004. I thought that took care of the problem, but in November of 2007 I was parking my Jeep Liberty and when I cut the wheel the wheel just fell off. I didn't have an accident or injuries, but I did have to report the incident to my insurance company because the damages to my car were over $1,700.
I received a safety recall notice from damiler Chrysler for my Jeep vehicle. When I called the local dealer for repair subject to this notice, I was told that they did not have the required parts for the repair and that they had no idea when they would have them. They declined to schedule an appointment for repair and gave me no help in finding any other remedy. They said: "we're sorry, we just can't help you. "
so I have a notice that my vehicle is unsafe and the local dealer refusing to do anything at all helpful about repair or finding any way to repair the vehicle.

: the contact stated while having recall work#06v288000 regarding suspension: front: control arm: lower ball joint performed on the vehicle, the dealer determined that the front axles and both wheel bearings needed to be replaced. The left axle was repaired, and when the front right axle was being repaired, it was noticed that the bolts in the axle were sheared and a lot of rust was present. There was no shaking or vibration prior to the incident. A representative at the dealership expressed that the manufacturer was contacted and determined that only 1 hour would be given to the dealer's mechanics to fix both sides. The vehicle was inoperable and was currently at the dealer.
: the contact stated as the vehicle was turned into the driveway at 2 mph, the front right bearing fractured and punctured the front right tire. The service dealer and manufacturer were not contacted.
Purchased 2005 Jeep Liberty 9/29/05. The tire pressure sensor light was on immediately. Took vehicle back to dealership and complained that the vehicle pulls badly to the right, especially at 65+ mph. The dealership fixed the tire pressure sensor, but told me the pulling to the right must be due to road conditions. After reading other customer complaints, I doubt it. When driving at highway speeds it is difficult to maintain in lane. If large tractor-trailer trucks pass this will create even more intense struggle to keep vehicle on the road. Safety concerns regarding winter snow conditions are a deciding factor on keeping the vehicle.
