The vehicle gears slipped into neutral but back to drive without assistance on my part. Once at a stop sign when I resumed driving. Once turning a corner. Once getting ready to back up. / I took it to have the transmission fluid level checked and it checked out ok. There have been no transmission recalls reported on the 2012 Jeep Liberty. The pan and filter had had a leak and was replaced a couple of weeks before this slippage happened.

My heater takes 45-60 mins to heat up my car, and it doesn’t blow full force when it’s on the highest setting. On cold days I literally have to start my car up 45 before I need to leave just to have a slight warmth inside. Once I’m moving, it barely blows any heat through the vents. The highest setting feels like it’s on the lowest setting.
Upper lower control arm on front end passenger side broke and vibration and driver side locked up and broke wheel hub.

Front ball joints/control arm assembly broke on passenger side causing accident.
Front lower ball joint on right side has fell out twice, 8 months apart. Both times the vehicle was in motion, going less the 20 mph. Road conditions were dry, and on on regular paved road. I was driving straight on the road both times. The first time it broke, it cause my wheel to break and flatter my tire, second time it damaged my wheel but didn't not bust through it. Motor mounts have broke 2 times as week 1 week after repaired it broke the 2nd time. Transmission mount has also broke.

On 17 February, with my foot on the brake, I placed my car into reverse to back into an available parking spot and the engine revved up on its own and shot the car backward at top speed hitting and toppling a san diego light post and stopping when it hit a tree. No one was injured thank goodness. I found on line that this had happened at least 31 times with a similar Jeep Liberty.
Unknown - testing for odi.

I was hit on my passenger front, while attempting to cross into a parking lot, so hard until my tire rod bent at a angle. My passenger airbag didn't deploy. None of my airbags deployed. There was no blind spot warning. Even after the impact, there was no alarm or notification of the damage, as the firemen were attempting to drive my car out of the road.

I experienced rapid unintended acceleration when starting up slowly from a complete stop, resultimg in the vehicle leaping a curb and striking a stop sign, scraping the side of the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while attempting to shift from park to drive, the gear shifter ceased in park. The contact removed the center console and simultaneously turned the ignition key while manually adjusting the shifter cable to shift from park into drive. The contact contacted fitzgerald Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (187 benjamin h hill dr w, fitzgerald, GA 31750, (229) 423-5720) and informed the dealer of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 213,000.
On 3 /2/2019 went to back out of my driveway put in reverse didn't move I assumed it was the linkage. So I had towed to transmission shop near my house. Got a call today saying the linkage cabel was routed the wrong way in such away that he cant explain why that would be. I've never had major work done to beside your normal oil changes.
Another issue my Jeep Liberty renegade has, the vehicle will not go all the way into park position, and allow the ignition to be turned completely to the off position so the key can be removed. I have to push very hard on the gear shifter to get it to go into park, in order to remove the key. This could cause the vehicle not to be completely in the park position, or the vehicle to jump out of park and roll away, which could cause a serious accident, or fatal injury. When I do a search on active recalls for 2005 Jeep I berry renegade, it shows one active for this issue, regarding transmission, and improper park anchor installation, which could cause the vehicle to not be in park and/or come out of park. However, when I search my vehicle VIN it doesn't show this recall active per my VIN number.
The steering gear is coming apart and is slipping which causes it to feel like you're driving sideways down the road. The windows will not go down without making a horrible noise and the thermostat housing needs to be replaced. After driving the Jeep it smells like its been on fire.
I am the second owner of this vehicle, when I acquired it, I had it serviced at the dealership and they preformed all recall work. It has been kept serviced and up to date on any recall work since. During the day on christmas eve 2019 I was returning home from a visit at my mother's home and suddenly lost control of the Jeep. There was loud noise and things breaking off the vehicle as I fought to control it and pull over. Upon inspection, saw the passenger side front wheel had come loose from the suspension, tore off the fender wheel well and broke a piece off the right-side running board. Undriveable, I had it towed to my mechanic. Unfortunately, they were closed until after new years. In early January I found out the diagnosis was a sheared lower ball joint failure. I looked in my files and found that this was one of the recalls that had been preformed to the vehicle. Safety recall f23- lower ball joints was done on 8/1/2006. Obviously, you assume this problem is resolved and the vehicle is safe after the work is done. I luckily was traveling at 30mph, and not at highway speed, so I have only encountered a financial burden. (about $4k for rental, repair & bodywork) I am sure if I was going faster or in traffic, I would have been injured or killed. How do the thousands of Jeep Liberty owners still on the road who are up to date on recalls confidently drive their vehicles if the recall work fails in the exact manner described as the problem meant to be fixed by the recall? I've been driving for close to 40 years and have never had any vehicle suffer a catastrophic failure resulting in a crash before this.

Vehicle is attractive and functional. Air bags probably saved the wife's life in a t bone accident. The air conditioner and heater work great. There is too much plastic. . . Everywhere! seats are uncomfortable on long trips. Water pump locked up with just over 50k miles. Transmission is self destructing at 62k miles this month. It seems the transmission has no dip stick for the owner to check the fluid. If it did the transmission problem could have been noticed sooner. Now we must pay for a transmission and labor because it is out of warranty, $4k! the vehicle gets regular use in county, city and highway trips. On nice paved texas roads. It is well maintained and only driven by two adults, age 72. I believe there is a quality issue with the drivetrain parts. We have owned other Jeeps. They had the old reliable inline 6cyl engine and three speed transmission. Very reliable.
My lights are turning on dash. It grabs real bad and acts like it going to die in traffic. Dangerous. My 4 wheel drive will not work.

I was driving my vehicle on the street when my check engine light came on and the car started to run rough and then the engine light started flashing. I parked it on a side street and had it towed to mechanic. I was told that the 3 & 5 cylinder was misfiring. Code p0303 & p0305 had to have spark plugs replaced along with boots & wires. My vehicle only has a little over 46,000 miles.
In Dec 2018, my vehicle had been parked in my garage for about 3 weeks and when I went to drive it, it did not move once I put it in reverse. I looked underneath and there was transmission fluid on the ground. I had my Jeep towed and my mechanic stated that the transmission pan was rusted out and sent me a picture. Had my transmission pan replaced and my Jeep on had a little over 43,000 miles.
I brought a Jeep Liberty wanting to try something new . I have been experiencing hell with this vehicle. I have only had it about 2 weeks took it to the dealer no one knows what's wrong because no lights stay on . I've taken it to aamco thinking they could tell me . They saw no problem . When driving this car for more than a hour the throttle light comes on the check engine light esp and it starts to shake like it will turn off . The lights always leave so the next day I have no proof . I have always had trucks and suvs I will never buy another Jeep heating is also terrible . Changed heater core alternater radiator check transmission. Every now I'm drive this car blind not knowing what to expect because it has too many mystery's that shops don't know about this is the worst christmas gift I brought for myself.
