Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled while depressing the accelerator without warning. The contact pulled the vehicle over and restated the vehicle in order to resume normal driving. The contact had not taken the vehicle to be serviced; however, a friend was able to use a code detector which indicated that the vehicle's throttle was defective. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact associated NHTSA campaign number: 13v120000(fuel system, gasoline) with her failure. So I made a complaint about the same issue but today I have an actual engine code that was pulled up after being rear-ended due to the stalling. It's code p0335 and it's the crankshaft position sensor which is already recalled for the exact make and model in the 2016 version and needs to be recalled immediately for 2015 because if there are any complaints of stalls it's because of this issue. Until this issue is addressed to me and my kid and anyone else who has this problem and car is at risk.

My 2016 Jeep Patriot was purchased on January 29, 2016. This vehicle has been nothing more then a death trap for me and a cash cow for the dealership. I have had major life or death problems almost with this vehicle. This vehicle began stalling out and shutting off while driving down busy interstate or other roadways in 2017. My vehicle is currently at the dealership due to stalling out and shutting off in the middle of a busy highway on June 29, 2019 after I left my job. I have filed a complaint with the consumer protection division and I expressed the dangers and the government hasn't stopped in to intervene as of today. I notified Chrysler manufacturer of the problem in 2017, when my vehicle only had 50,000 miles. Once again there wasn't anything done concerning this situation. I notified the NHTSA and this organization hasn't done anything but post my complaint online. This is my second complaint with NHTSA. There has been several recalls on this matter but Chrysler claimed that my vintage number wasn't part of the recall. Although my 2016 Jeep Patriot was doing the exact same thing as the other 2016 Jeep Patriot, that was stalling out and shutting off in the middle of the highway. This death trap of a vehicle should have been recalled when I first initially filed this complaint. Well I guess I'll just watch and see how many people have to lose their lives behind these garbage Jeep Patriots before they recall these death traps. I will definitely look into filing a lawsuit against Chrysler and name all of the agencies that was made aware of this deadly problem. And they done absolutely nothing concerning this matter. I contacted the manufacturer once again this morning. And I have been assigned another case manager and so I'll wait on this phone call after 8:00a. M. Today. I can provide all documentations of the complaints filed.

The first time it stalled I was turning a corner onto a main street and it stalled. It did start right back up and ran. The next day I was stopped at a red light and it stalled. The very next red light it stalled again. Both times it started right back up again.

2014 Jeep Patriot is stalling when trying to accelerate, especially uphill. It is also stalling after slowing down and then accelerating again. While going uphill recently the vehicle sputtered to climb uphill. Luckily the vehicle has not completely stalled out yet. This mostly happens on city street however when getting onto the on ramp it sputters to accelerate sometimes and also if traffic comes to a stop on the highway and I try to accelerate again. I have no idea what is causing this. I have completed regular maintenance on the car so this has come out of nowhere. I see previously there was a recall for a loss of oil pressure which could cause the vehicle to stall but I'm not sure if my vehicle went through this recall.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was crankshaft position sensor failure, circuit malfunction bank 1, invalid skim key, and an unknown code appeared for the abs. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v907000 (engine and engine cooling). Manahawkin Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (located at 500 new jersey 72 west, manahawkin, NJ 08050) was contacted by phone at 866-834-5922 and informed of the failure. The failure recurred five times. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.

In addition, the electronic stability control warning indicator illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the shoulder. After approximately two minutes, the vehicle restarted and operated normally. The contact stated that the failure occurred four other times. The vehicle was driven to hendrix Jeep Chrysler fiat (543 n mcpherson church rd, fayetteville, nc 28303) where it was determined that the throttle body, spark plugs, and air filter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failures recurred twice after the repairs were performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired after the last failure. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.

While driving on the highway with air condition running. I hear an electrical sound that reminds me of a remote control car. My Jeep then proceeds to overheat and stalls while I'm driving . I have to sit on the side of the road for 15-20 minutes then try to drive again . This has happened multiple times most recently memorial weekend 2019. I have taken my Jeep to the dealership but they say they can not find anything wrong.

My Jeep Patriot is 5 years old and already I had the throttle body go bad, stalled out in the middle of the freeway and I was going about 60 mph jerked me and my passenger, had it replaced also the abs module control which also gave out 2 months later while I was driving, very dangerous, car still not running good!! car sat for 3 months after incident.

On my way to work, my car stalled 3 times while at a stop light and once while moving. After the moving stall, my engine light came on. The error code is p0339. It also stalled twice on my way home from work. It didn't stall while I was moving on the second trip because my foot happened to be on the gas when it tried to stall. I felt the car jerk backwards then re-engage the engine back to where it was before it almost stalled. The car had done a little jerk every once in a while, but now it's multiple times in a single trip.

Just bought used Jeep 2 days ago, filled tank up with gas, pulled out onto highway, stalled out and Jeep died, almost hit by on coming vehicle, thankfully she had enough time to stop and give me the finger. Sat there for a few minutes with hazards on, cursing my luck as I've only had this Jeep for 5 hours and had to be in work in 20 min. Prayed and started the Jeep right up and on to work. Coming home same night decided to take on interstate to see how it would do at 65-70 mph and holy moly the steering wheel was vibrating like one of the massage chairs in the mall. Come to find out on forums that Jeep owners are aware of the gas issue (dealer doesn't know or neglected to tell us) as we are first time Jeep owners. The vibrating steering wheel --- well that seems to be a known issue too, but our VIN doesn't seem to be on the recall list even though I live in PA and fall into the covered years. I am bringing car back to dealership I purchased from to have them correct the issues. We have a 30day 1000 mile warranty. Lets see how much of a fuss I have to make over this. Filling gas tank and stalling out on highway I'd say that is a safety issue. Vibrating steering wheel could fall under the x69 extended warranty---will know more on Monday.

I have a 2014 Jeep Patriot latitude that has 48100 miles on it . Its was fine up until know where it will stall out while driving and shut down and the stability light would come on . I would pull over and the car would restart . It has been happening a lot and its scary not to know when it will happen again . Someone is going to get killed if the problem is not fixed . Jeep should have a recall on the cars and fix the problem . The problem has happened while turning a corner and on streets and then went to stall out on a highway.

Jeep stalls while driving at differant speeds with out warning. My Jeep has done this maney times wether going 60 or 40 on the highway or in a small town. Had the dealer look at it they had it for a hour and said there was nothing wrong with it . Has done it since then meny times.

This vehicle intermittently stalls. The vehicle stalled in multiple different conditions including slow driving and at highway speeds and on level or inclines/declines. The vehicle would be functioning properly and then completely stall and shut off which was very dangerous at highway speeds because there was a loss of power brakes and steering. There is a recall for this make and model for the year 2016 (safety recall s89 / NHTSA 16v-907 crankshaft camshaft sensor wire harness). This is the exact issue that is wrong with our vehicle, but it is a 2015 model year. The dealership did not fix the issue on our first repair visit and so we were put at safety risk again when the vehicle stalled until bringing it in a second time. This is a very dangerous situation and Jeep needs to address this issue.

I am seeing many similar complaints about this vehicle. My 2015 Jeep Patriot used to kick back while I was accelerating which developed into a stall after a couple of months. I took it to a shop and they gave me new spark plugs and cleaned my air intake valves in hopes that it would fix the issue. The car gives no warning or code to describe what is happening. For about a week there were no issues and then it stalled on me twice today and power steering goes out. I was stopped at a red light and accelerated once it turned green but it stalled before I could make it all the way through the intersection. I could barely steer out of the way of other vehicles, have to put my car in park and shut it off. Then I have to sit there for a couple minutes before restarting the car. This is a huge safety issue and I am afraid to drive my car especially during rush hour.

After fueling the Jeep it stalls when the next idle or two occurs. For example, after fueling, the Jeep is driven and stalls at the first stop light. Sometimes it occurs when trying to pull away from the gas station. It is very dangerous as the steering wheel locks up and you have to stop the vehicle and restart it in traffic. It only happens when fueling the tank to full. This is a safety issue as it could cause an accident pulling out into traffic from the gas station. It happens every time the tank is filled up.

Vehicle sputters when accelerating as if losing oil pressure. It's significant enough to not want to turn or pullout into traffic unless there is a large and safe distance between other vehicles from fear of stalling or just not accelerating fast enough.

My 2008 Jeep Patriot keeps stalling and is great mechanical condition . The car keeps stalling while in park and driving without warning which is a very dangerous condition. Have mechanic trying to figure it out and he can't . Seen other people with same problems but no answers. This needs to be recalled to figure out what is going on with this issue.
