Engine stalls out when driving and at slow turns also low oil light comes on even though oil is up to date. Very unsafe when dropping kids off at school.
When at slow speeds the engine stalls and says to enter park to shift into gear. Then the Jeep struggles to restart again.
The low oil light came on after rounding a corner. About two weeks later low oil light came on upon braking while leaving the parking lot and the engine stalled. This occurred two more times while stoping at red traffic lights. The next day on the way to get the oil changed the behavior was the same. If the Jeep deaccelerated too quickly, or went around a sharp corner the low oil light came on and the the engine stalled. After the first stall, that happened at a stop sign, the engine had difficulty starting. I needed to try three times before it started. After the oil change it is ok. The dealership told me it is normal that some engines need to have oil added, one quart, between oil changes. I told them that was not true and this was an unsafe defect.
Constant engine stalling at highway speeds and normal speeds causing all engine power to cease in my vehicle leaving it to the mercy of my brakes which lock up upon power loss and makes it extremely difficult to stop. Brought vehicle to dealership multiple times just to be told that they could not duplicate the problem. It continues to happed and I have already had one small collision and have almost been forced off of a cliff 2 times since these problems have started.

Rental vehicle. While on us 89 north bound after passing logan vehicle engine stalled/stopped several times while climbing thru cache valley on us highway 89 exposing us to a dangerous environment. Vehicle had to be pushed to a safe place (mile marker 429). This issue may or may not be related to the vehicle production or just only for the one identified above. 11jul20 utah forest/park person as well as utah state patrol trooper helped in obtaining road assistance.
The engine stalls out at stops and when slowing down on city streets. Then when you try and restart it, starter is slow then finally cranks over. This is the 2017 Jeep Renegade sport 2. 4l 2wd. The car has 58k miles on it.
The engine will stall in traffic or go down the road. This was happened about four to five time in the last week. There is recalls on the 4wd but not the 2wd. This will create a crash for these models. This is very dangerous and need to be looked into.
Driving down the highway going 65 mph, engine just stalled/died. I lost power steering, brake felt like a brick, I had no control whatsoever. Was able to coast to the shoulder without getting into an accident. Took 3-4 attempts to get the engine restarted. Before, during and after this happened there were no indicator lights on the dash that there was a problem.
The engine stalled while I was turning. I turned my vehicle off and back on and the engine wouldn't start. I did this again and the engine eventually started.
Engine has stalled twice under exertion at low speed. Low oil pressure light comes on especially when making turns and engine runs roughly.
For the past week my engine stalls in the morning randomly while driving, when I'm about to turn and the dash tells me to shift into park. When re-starting the engine struggles and then comes on. It just happened when leaving work too. Started driving out the parking lot and the car stalled. I see there is a recall for 2017-2018 Jeeps for this same problem and multiple complaints for the 2016. Luckily I've been on streets and off the highway and going slow enough that when it stalls I can throw on my four way flashers. But I'm scared it will stall while in heavy traffic or going fast.

At 19700 miles I was driving home (50 miles) in the middle of a busy road my engine stalled and then completely stopped in the middle of the road. Causing the vehicle behind me to slam on their brakes to avoid from hitting me. I was not far from home and was able to get it to start up after putting it in park. I went less then 3 miles and the engine stalled again in the middle of a busy highway. Right before it stalled the drive light flashed a few times before cutting off. I put it in park put my hazard lights on and was able to get it started again and safely parked it. Took it to the dealer who had wonderful service department but I was a little upset when told it was probably a fluke. That there was nothing they could do after they could not get the vehicle to duplicate what it had previously done. I know this is probably standard but I'm sincerely concerned for my safety and what I can do if this happens again without the dealer being able to duplicate it.
I was making a right onto a road and I lost all power to the drive train and had to make a sudden right turn into a subdivision that was to my immediate right. I could still steer; which was how I pulled myself off the road into the subdivision immediately after making the turn onto the road. I checked the oil level when I came to a stop inside the subdivision. It read that the oil level was slightly above the recommended level on the dipstick. I was on my way to have the oil change done. The car was due for an oil change at the time. I was taking it in for the oil change 100 miles before the due date. A week earlier and the day before the car displayed a low oil pressure indicator on the display. Those were the first times in my life I've seen that message. I contacted the parts department of the troncalli Jeep Dodge dealership I had bought the vehicle from later that day. I asked why the engine stopped and the man I spoke to said probably had something to do with how the engine was made. In which the engine could stall if the oil level is half a quart over or under the minimum or maximum level. That was the 1st instance of my vehicle stalling.
Driving my vehicle today and it did not accelerate when applying the gas. This has occurred many times in the past but as a result, I was almost rear ended today. I have 40,800 miles. I purchased this vehicle new and have had similar issues in the past but this was a time that the delay in acceleration lasted at least 8 seconds. When this occurs it is always during acceleration from a stop except once when I decelerating to a stop, the engine started to stall until I revved the engine.
Takata recall Jeep needing oil change at 7600 miles, bone dry with no indication, no smoke, no notice, engine stalls through an intersection. Won't restart for 30 seconds. Fan bearing failed. Repaired with oem part, failing again. Electrical issues, headlights shut off on dark highway, indicating all exterior lighting has failed, electrical restored. Multiple smaller events of blinker right or left being out, indicators included rapid flashing of dashboard indicator. Bulbs always self restored and fault cleared. Evap failure indicated, self resolved while trouble shooting.
Vehicle was at very low speed in a parking lot, wheels slightly turned and the engine abruptly stalled and died. I was able to re-start it immediately after shifting from drive into neutral.
I have noticed that when I have to take hard turns with my Jeep Renegade 2017 4 wheel drive sport edition that my low oil pressure light will come on and the engine will either stall or flutter like it's going to stall. This can be dangerous if it stalls while I am making a turn in traffic.
On 2 separate occasions, within about 1 week of each other, the engine stalled while making a right turn. My vehicle only had about 7k miles on it at the time. The 2nd time it happened there was a low oil pressure warning that had come on briefly when I started the engine. The engine stalled on a busy road and I was barely able to pull off. I felt very unsafe during the time it took me to restart the engine. That night when I checked the dipstick there was no oil. The next day I got an oil change and haven't had a problem since. The dealership was unable to tell me why there was not enough oil in the engine.
Driving and engine stalls, throws a p00735 code, only 15450 miles on the car when happened, it's not doing it again and have been told that I have to wait until it happens again. . . I don't feel safe in this car. Research has shown there are many people with the exact same problem happen to them and told the same thing.
This 2. 4l multi-air engine consumes excessive amounts of oil. There is no "low pressure" indication unless the motor is a couple quarts low and hard cornering or stopping, and in those circumstances the engine stalls out. This first occurred a couple of months after purchase, the dealership gave me a TSB printout recommending I keep a quart of oil on hand. Since then every oil change I have been low and I've added about one quart per thousand miles like the TSB indicates but it is starting to consume it worse. When I purchased this vehicle I was told that oil changes were substantially further apart and the vehicle would let me know when to do so, yet there is no indication that I am low or out. I am afraid it is going to blow the engine on this vehicle.
The malfunction indicator lamps illuminate at incorrect times. Engine stall. It stops and goes back and forth when gas is pressed. The backup camera blanks out and goes blue or the picture is not there at ali or extremely fuzzy.
The vehicle has stalled at high speeds, or idled and shook before finally sputtering and engine dying. Various issues at various speeds. Could not restart and had to tow. Engine stalled at full speed three times all while vehicle was brand new, first month of ownership and under 1500 miles.
