This car comes almost to a dead stop and stalls when accelerating. Its dangerous because it will stall right as I'm entering traffic and attempting to get up to the speed of traffic during a time when all other cars around me are also accelerating, it's happened since the first day I bought the Jeep I've already filed a complaint. These engines should be recalled.

2018 jeel renagade 4wd stalls while driving. Feels like loss of fuel pressure around 60 mph. No speed control while deceleration. When stopped the vehicle requires to shift to park and turn off. Sometimes will automatically try to restart the engine several times. Dangerous because I was driving on a busy highway with no acceleration or deceleration.

When coming to a stop, the Jeep stalls and tells me to turn engine back on and/or to change gears. After checking forums, other drivers said to check the oil and the oil was completely dry. Ive only had the vehicle a month and a half.

The Jeep sometimes stalls when coming to a stop. It'll say that the car needs to be placed in park, you attempt to start it, the Jeep struggles to start. Eventually it will start. The Jeep also makes a hard jolt sometimes in higher speeds. It has been noticed to do this when the Jeep is accelerating to cruising speed. Sometimes it is noticed when DE accelerating.

Renegade stalling at low speed or making a turn low oil pressure shows on display this is not safe this could cause a major accident I been researching and this is a common issue a lot people complaining.

While I am driving, usually mid turn my car will stall telling me it's low on oil.

The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while her son was driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed the contact's residence. The vehcile was then towed to bolton Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram fiat (8181 memorial blvd, port arthur, TX 77640, (409) 237-5500) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 62,000. Invalid VIN.

My vehicle is due for an oil change February 11. Many 2017 Jeep Renegades have had a recall issued on them for the vehicle stalling while driving and mine has started doing this. It happened one other time and I thought maybe I missed an oil change. After having the oil changed the problem went away. I am not yet even due for my oil change and am experiencing the issue again. My vehicle should have been included in the recall but some how was missed. This is a big time safety issue and would hope that you guys would look in to it.

My car stalled and turned off while driving. I was in motion turning from one road onto another in July 2020 and again 2x on Dec 23rd, 2020 without any warning. In July the dealer told me it was a "safety feature" for the engine to turn off if the oil is low. It had been 4,729 miles since my last oil change done by the Jeep dealer with synthetic oil (which is good for 6,000 miles). When I had the oil checked after it stalled on Dec 23rd the oil was 4 quarts low! there is currently a recall for other 2017 Jeep Renegades with the 2. 4l engine, but my VIN is not included. There was a class action lawsuit for my year make and model car filed on July 21st, 2020 for this same exact problem.

My Renegade has stalled 5xs in the last 4 months while driving down the road. Each time, I'm driving at low speeds. It constantly says my oil is low, but the techs keep saying my oil is fine. This last time, I checked the oil. My Renegade didn't even have oil on the dip stick. I searched my usual parking spot and there is no oil on the ground.

When turning left from a cold start vehicle stalls and shuts off. It says it needs to shift, but it is already in drive. You must shut the vehicle off and attempt to start it sometimes it takes five minutes for it to start. Now it says there are issues with the lights, like they are out but they are actually working. No work has been done on it before. Currently at the dealership. Have video.

While driving the car loses power and the message "shift to park" appears then the car stalls. The car was traveling less than 25mph. The car may or may not start afterwards. The battery was replaced but the same problem occurs. This has occurred multiple times and has stranded me. It doesn't matter the outside weather conditions.

Driving on highway at 70 mph up a minor incline, the vehicle started hesitating/chugging and then the accelerator pedal stopped responding. Vehicle stalled and coasted to stop where the idle was rough and then died. Initially, would restart, but then stall out. For the next 3 hours (while waiting for a tow), the electrical system was flaking out - intermittently flashing any error in its wheelhouse. Restarted next day and idle very rough/misfiring, engine light blinking and decent cloud of black smoke generated. Initial report from shop is that the engine oil is sludge (changed 5k miles ago), battery is completely dead (was already replaced at 15k miles) and a spark plug end is bent and in horrific shape. Vehicle has 25k miles and has been in service for 4. 2 years.

The car will stall without any indication that the oil is low. Loss of power also accrues. I almost got hit by a car for losing power. The dealership says its normal for the car to use oil. But never told me when I bought the car I need to check it. This is a huge safety concern.

This vehicle has stalled while driving in the highway 3 times now. It also consumes more oil in a month than most cars consume in 20 years. It is an unsafe car that if not fixed will result in damage, injury or death. This car needs to be recalled and fixed ASAP.

I purchased my 2018 Jeep Renegade in Feb of 2019. I had under 5k miles on it and took it on my first road trip. I made it to colorado and the vehicle stalled while driving at least 12 times. There were no warning lights or anything. I had the vehicle taken to 4 different dealerships and no codes or issues were found. I dealt with fca which was a nightmare, and all they offered was a free warranty. I let them know I dont feel safe in my vehicle multiple times. I then took my vehicle on the first road trip this weekend to lubbock and once again it stalled out 4 times while driving 75 mph. I dropped it off at the dealership yesterday and no issues were found again. There is a safety recall on this vehicle for the exact same issues yet my VIN doesn't fit the recall list. This is unacceptable and I want it fixed immediately. I could die from this vehicle stalling while driving at high speeds. Please get someone to help me.

The car dies while driving it. If you stop at a light, it dies. Then again after you restart and move up a few car lengths. Once it died while actually in motion!! apparently, the oil pressure gets low b/c the engine(2. 4) uses all of the oil within or less than 2 months time after an oil change. There is a recall on this 2. 4 engine, as of 12/10/20 I am told by the dealership, but only on Renegades that have all wheel drive and not front wheel drive such as mine. Not sure what the transmission has to do with a badly designed motor(a rep at the local dealership stated that it was a poorly designed engine that was supposed to use some oil); however, this engine sucks the oil dry in under 2 months time thus making the motor die/stall while driving. This is very dangerous! I have seen posts on forums where people keep telling others to make sure to keep an eye on your oil. Apparently, many people are having issues with this particular 2. 4 engine. The oil light only flickers while going around a corner & when you check the oil, it is almost bone dry - if comparing it to a 12 in. Ruler, it might land on the 1st line (of 8 lines) on the way to an inch - just the tip of the dipstick will have a slight amount of oil on it. This started happening within 2 months of purchase - car bought used in June 2020. At first, we thought that they sold us a car and didn't check the oil, but now we know better than that.

I was on my way home from work on July 15, 2020. I stopped to to fuel the car and continued on my route home. After about 1 1/2 miles, I was decelerating from exiting the spur 601 to make a right turn onto the marshall overpass, when all of the sudden the car lost power and started to shake really bad. The idle was extremely low and could make it up the hill and overpass. It didn't stall, but nearly did several times while at a stop light. The car would shake badly when it reached 30 mph and again at 40 mph. Took car to dealership next morning thinking it was bad fuel, but was found to be bad ignition coils. The coils were replaced, but issue with car nearly stalling while making turns or hesitation to accelerate after a stop is still present. My car is not part of any of the recalls, but is having the same issues that the majority of owners of these cars. Although my car has not actually stalled yet, pretty close though, I'm afraid of it happening and someone crashing into me. I'm very cautious when pulling into traffic since it's slow in acceleration. It performs poorly going through mountain ranges, especially when climbing. It also is jerky at times when shifting gears, especially after reaching around 30 mph. The car only has 32,000 miles and should be performing better than it is now. Very disappointed with Jeep.

Vehicle stalls out in the middle of driving on both streets and highways. Code u18 was what came up with this particular problem. Fear of loss of life due to stalling out is a major concern for me and my family.

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, the vehicle loss motive power without warning and stalled. The contact checked the oil level and discovered that there was no engine oil in the vehicle. Jack phelan Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram (5859 s. La grange rd, countryside, IL 60525) was contacted and made aware of the failure. An appoint was scheduled to have the vehicle diagnosed which was still pending. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000. The VIN was not included.

6 times in the past week, our vehicle has started sputtering and stalling out while driving on the highway. Our gas was around half full and we were not going up or down any hills. The mph range was 60-90mph that this was happening and after driving for a couple of hours. We were not able to restart the vehicle for at least 10 minutes and sometimes it took over 45 minutes before we could start the vehicle again. We have taken it to the dealership 3 times, each time telling us that there is nothing wrong. We have contacted fca group about the issue and said that we don't have any recalls and say that there is nothing that can be done. They have also suggested that we just seek out legal counsel. There is only 19k miles on the car and it was purchased brand new April of 2019.

Tl- the contact owns a 2020 Jeep Renegade. The vehicle would suddenly stall at various speeds, however, the vehicle would restart just as sudden. The vehicle's check oil warning light illuminated. The contact stated that a few days after that while turning right at approximately 10 mph into the gas station the vehicle suddenly stalled again causing the vehicle then roll backwards into an oncoming traffic causing the vehicle's rear end to hit another vehicle. A police report was filed. There were 0 injuries. The vehicle was not towed at the time of the crash, however, the vehicle was towed fom the contact's home to the dealership (joey accardi Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, ram 909 s federal hwy, pompano beach, FL 33062; (954) 943-6700) who stated that they were unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 4,300. Gl.

Upon slowing for stop sign or turn, car stalls and dies. "d" starts blinking and get message that must be stopped to shift. Get stopped, shift into park and try to start car. Takes several tries to get started. Car has 6500 miles and has happened at least 7 times. Took to dealer, was told that there are no codes and they can't find problem. Have another appointment with dealer this week. Latest instance of issue was 2/29/20.

Rough idling. Vehicle stalling at 60 mph. When accelerating, going uphill or turning car performance drops and then car jerks forward.

While driving on a surface street I got a weird message that said car must be in park to shift gears. I turned into the nearest parking lot and then the car just stalled out. The car was still on but would not accelerate no power steering or anything. After coming to a complete stop I put the car in park turned it off and then tried to turn it back on and it stalled for 10-15 seconds then finally turned over. As many times as this has been reported why are there no recalls on this? to have your car cut off in the middle of the street while driving is definitely not ideal nor is it safe to say the least.

My 2017 Jeep Renegade has stalled multiple times while driving and also while stopping in traffic. The car just stops and I get a warning about shifting to park and starting, which is dangerous in traffic. When trying to restart, the starter is very slow and will eventually start again. All scheduled maintenance and oil changes have been regularly made. This is a vehicle safety ssue that needs nvestigating.

Incident 1 2/11/20 5pm I had left my office after work and was pulling into a turn lane at an intersection on a city street; car stalled in drive. I put it into park, put my foot on the brake and pushed the start button; and it started. No issues on the 20 miles home. Incident 2 2/13/20 7am I had just left my house and had turned left to exit my neighborhood when the card stalled in drive. I put it park and pushed the start button, nothing happened. I took my foot off of the brake and then reapplied my foot to the brake and pushed the button. Sounded like the card was trying to start. Waited a few more seconds and tried it again, it started. No issues on the 20 miles to work.

When I am driving my 2017 Jeep Renegade, which has an automatic transmission, the car will occasionally stall while the car is moving. A message will show on the dash that says �shift vehicle to park� or something along those lines. I will go from driving normally, to having 0 rpms while I'm still moving. I turn the car off. I wait a minute. I try to start the car and it won't start, it just keeps cranking. Eventually, and after many failed attempts and fear of ruining the starter, I manage to get the car started, but barely. When it does finally start, I wait a few seconds and am then able to drive again normally. This has happened more than several times now in the past year. It is also worth noting that I schedule my vehicle for regular oil changes as recommended, but I often get an oil pressure low warning, sometimes right before the vehicle stalls. I often have to add quarts of oil to my vehicle, even with regular oil changes. I drive an average of 12,000 miles a year and I do not abuse my vehicle. When researching my problem I came across two remarkably similar issues in other 2017 Jeep Renegades. These two recalls do not show up when I check my vehicle's VIN against active recalls. It seems like more than a coincidence and I am asking that you broaden your scope for this issue in Jeep Renegades, because I or my family could be in danger while driving.

My son was driving home - city street - it was snowing and icy - the car stalled out and he swerved to the right jumped the curb and ran into a pole and tree. I have read several complaints for this vehicle in stalling out as well as recalls. The issue is supposedly repaired but it comes back doing the same thing. Due to this accident this has caused us to have body work to be done as well as other issues. The most important issue is my son could have been killed. After body work has been CO.

Vehicle has 14000 miles, has stalled six times in 13 months. Most recently, driving less than one block away, made a right turn into a parking lot and lost all power, dash instructions stated that vehicle must be in p to shift gears. I was not shifting gears. Vehicle had to be shut off, would not restart until attempted three times. The recall does not include my vehicle but absolutely should as it is the exact same issue as the recalled Jeep Renegades. This is extraordinarily dangerous to everyone on the road. I have taken my Jeep to the dealership multiple times, they tell me they can't find the issue or that it needs an oil change again. My owner's manual states that the vehicle will tell me when it needs an oil change, dealership says not to follow the manual, to change the oil every 1,000 miles. This is the most serious of the issues I have had with this vehicle but have had numerous parts replaced in the first year of ownership of a brand new vehicle. Purchased brand new at $27000, now worth $14000 and I cannot even drive it without risking stalling at highway speed. It appears that this is pretty significant issue for other owners of this vehicle, why is nothing being done? hopefully it won't take fatalities to widen the scope of the recall of this vehicle.

I had just left for work today, driving on the street, when 2017 Jeep Renegade desert hawk suddenly stalled I was able to coast to the side of the road. A message came on the dashboard with instruction to put the vehicle in park and press start button. I did so and the engine tried to start, but didn't. Tried a second time and engine sputtered and eventually started. Low oil pressure light has also been flashing on when making quick turns. Only stays on a couple of seconds. This then happened again after I had just left work. Purchased vehicle new, I'm the only driver and it has 20,500 miles. About a year ago, the same happened. I told the dealer shop, when I was getting an oil change, about this issue. They said nothing was wrong with the vehicle. This issue occurs when I first start it in the morning and when it has been sitting awhile and I start it (like when I go home from work).

Tl- the contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the vehicle would jerk and vibrate and suddenly shut off and stall. The vehicle was taken taken to the local dealer atlanta west Chrysler Dodge located at 1251 thornton rd, lithia springs, GA 3012, who flashed the pcm and tcm due to transmission failures but the failures reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,000. Jft.

Vehicle stalls while in motion with no warning. Happened at least 4 times within the last month.

Twice in the last week, my 2018 Jeep Renegade with around 17,500 miles has stalled after moderately hard braking. In both cases the vehicle had a difficult time restarting. In the last case, the stalling occurred during busy rush hour city traffic and we sat for about minute with traffic passing us while we attempted to restart the vehicle. My girlfriend, a new driver, was driving during this instance and I am concerned for our safety now.

Ever since the beginning of November 2019, my Renegade has been stalling when I am in the middle of driving. It started out to be a couple of times but it now does it every time I turn it on and drive. It has stalled on me when I have been in the middle of busy roads and has almost caused accidents. I notice that it will stall if I am turning a corner or if I have just started it up and driving off within the first few minutes. I know there are a lot of complaints by other 2017 Renegade owners but I have the deserthawk edition and I haven't seen anything for my model. I take very good care of it and it is only a couple of years old. The stalling problem that I am having seems to only be getting worse.
