This vehicle’s windows dull out and side mirrors get brown and orange spots on them. Seat belts won’t hold your seat belt and can sometimes pop out while going down the road. It sets off the seat belt alarm and you have to keep trying to get it back in. There’s a recall for some 2017 models, but this one doesn’t fall under the recall but has the same issues for the engine cooling fan. Electric cooling fan won’t spin and causes the car to use up coolant and overheat. This also messes with your air conditioner and causes the inside of your car to get hot as it can only blow warm air. (injury)the plastic for the hood prop rod easily falls off and is a safety issue when you are working under the hood as the hood can fall onto your head when this plastic piece falls off. The gear shit stops working and won’t go into reverse. The parking brake pull button is located next to the cup holders and at high risk for electric damage if the cups in the cup holder leak or have condensation and leak into that parking brake pull switch. If the battery dies, and you quickly need to move the car off of a busy highway or train track, you have to take off the entire piece of the gear shift and find something small enough to fit into the hole to pop the car into neutral or reverse. This is a huge safety risk and takes too much time in high risk areas!!.

Car has 66,000 miles. Description of the safety defect and incident:component malfunction: the radiator cooling fan motor and the low-speed resistor circuit suffered a complete internal electrical failure. The defective part is being removed and is available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: while idling stationary in live traffic, the vehicle unexpectedly and severely overheated. This created an immediate, dangerous traffic-stall hazard that put my personal safety and the safety of surrounding drivers at risk of a collision. Professional confirmation: the problem has been fully reproduced, diagnosed, and confirmed by a certified independent service center. Their diagnostic scan tool commands failed, and electronic connector testing proved an open resistor and a faulty, high-resistance motor. Inspections: the vehicle and component have been inspected and verified by the independent service center. No police or insurance representatives were involved as I successfully safely towed the vehicle before a collision occurred. Warning lamps & symptoms: there were no symptoms prior to the failure. The problem appeared suddenly while idling. The dashboard cluster flashed an "engine coolant hot" message only after the temperature had already spiked into the red zone because the low-speed fan completely failed to engage. I immediately turned the engine off to prevent a catastrophic engine failure or a traffic collision. This component failure occurred prematurely at only 66,000 miles on a meticulously maintained 2018 Jeep Renegade trailhawk. I am writing to report a severe safety defect regarding my 2018 Jeep Renegade. The vehicle suffers from an extreme internal oil consumption defect, burning 1 quart of oil every 1,000 miles. According to certified automotive diagnostics, this is five times the normal operating rate. This rapid oil depletion causes the vehicle to abruptly lose power, stall, and completely shut down while driving in active traffic without warning. However, when I presented the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership in newnan, georgia, due to repeated stalling, the service department refused recall coverage because my specific VIN was not flagged in their database. They replaced a valve cover gasket instead, but the severe oil depletion and dangerous stalling persisted. I am reporting a safety concern involving a 2017 Jeep Renegade, VIN zaccjaab5hpe81627. The vehicle was purchased used on may 22, 2026 at approximately 89,055 miles and began experiencing problems almost immediately. On may 27, only five days and approximately 96 miles after purchase, a diagnostic showed check engine fail with codes p0128 and p0456. On may 28, the selling dealership advised that the vehicle needed a thermostat and had an evap code requiring further diagnosis. On June 5, another diagnostic again showed check engine fail and identified an evap-related issue. The vehicle also had safety recall ub2/NHTSA campaign 18v731000 involving the fuel-pump assembly. The recall addresses a condition in which loss of fuel pressure may cause the engine to stall and increase crash risk. The fuel-pump-module recall repair was performed at a Jeep dealership in June 2026. Problems continued after that service. On July 25, another diagnostic showed check engine fail with codes p0172, p0455 and p0456. On July 31, the vehicle shut down while being driven and was stuttering on the way to the repair facility. The service record specifically documents the complaint that the vehicle “shut down while driving” and was “stuttering on way here. ” the vehicle has also experienced recurring starting difficulty, particularly after refueling, and repeated check-engine warnings. I am concerned about the risk of an unexpected loss of power or engine stall while driving in traffic. I am not asserting that the prior fuel-pump recall caused the later shutdown; however, I am reporting the recall history, repeated diagnostic faults, starting problems, and documented shutdown so NHTSA can evaluate whether this may represent a continuing or additional safety defect.

There is something wrong with this Jeep. I keep getting collision messages four-wheel-drive pops on and off on its own and randomly states that it needs to be serviced. The Jeep is hard to accelerate randomly on highway speeds going over 45. The Jeep also drives like a boat despite your front end or back in issues, new tires, etc. . The oil light comes on even when all light is changed it goes in limp mode, which is dangerous the vehicle keeps requiring software updates. It’s not a very good model to be driving and it’s unsafe on a highway and it’s very expensive just to even be looked at for diagnostic yet alone repairing it and so far from experience, it’s all electrical issues malfunctioning preventing the vehicle from working properly. I’ve only had it two years, barely and I wish to get rid of it. I keep going to shops and it’s unfair.

I was driving down the road and the car turns off. Everything turns off, no lights, no nothing and it won't crank again. And then I had to call a wrecker truck and the oil was on top of the motor and back of the tailpipe. I couldn't even get it out of the road. I am so thankful my granddaughter was not in there and I'm glad I wasn't on the interstate cuz if I was that would have been bad.

I bought this 2022 Jeep Renegade in 2023. Upon changing the oil today (3/13/2026) my mechanic found a rear main seal leak. He stated to check for recalls/safety as this should not be happening; the car only has 54,000 miles on it. I have called a couple friends that have one and they too have leaks. Is this covered for repair under a recall? also the engine stalls when I try to take off, jerking and stalling. I know this isn't normal for this car to act like this. It will also stall or jerk sometimes while driving it. I will have this car two years this April 2026. I love the car but not with safety issues. Please fix this for all owners.

While having my car serviced my mechanic informed me that I have an oil leak (and told me time to get rid of it). He did some searching and found that there is a safety-related issue and to take it to a dealer for repair. I have only had this Jeep barely over two years. I have been smelling the car hot while driving it or after turning it off. Even my daughter has commented on it. There has only been one dash light come on but I don't remember what it was. My mechanic is keeping an eye on it. The car also stalls out seeming to want to quit while driving it and it will surge (kinda jump ahead) while driving it so I need to know how to go about getting it fixed before it catches fire.

I am driving down the road and the vehicle goes into neutral and the engine turns off. I then have to stop the vehicle and restart it. When I hit the starter button. It sputters and then starts. This has been happening irregularly 1-3 times a week since it started in December of 2025. With last time happening being on 2/16/2026.

Driving turned, left in the vehicle paused like the engine paused yesterday and this morning I turned right in my engine stalled out completely turned off. It was hard to get it. Restarted again. I had codes run on it and the battery was fine. It finally started again after.

While driving the moving vehicle on 3 occasions my vehicle has stalled out with me driving it, however there is a recall online for the same year, make and model of my vehicle for the same exact problems I am experiencing and I am being told that there are no recalls for my VIN. This is a problem since (let me repeat myself) online a recall for same year, make and model experiencing the exact problems with vehicle stalling and shutting off while driving. This is a serious issue and I keep getting the run around from Jeep corporation not insuring the safety of their vehicles and the people that own them.

Low oil pressure indication light came on and then off. Vehicle taken to Jeep, they informed us that the 2. 4l engine was consuming oil which led to internal damage to engine. Service associate claims Jeep had a recall on this specific problem with this specific engine.

My 2020 Jeep Renegade has been burning a quart of oil every 1,000 miles or so. Im sure many people do not check it as consistently as I do. Burning oil im sure is hard on the spark plugs, catalitic converters, and the emissions.

Excessive oil consumption. Refusal of dealer to honor manufacturer service bulletin.

The automatic engine stop/start feature failed and engine would not stop running. Had to remove fuse to the electric fuel pump, after about 1 minute engine shutdown. My concern is what if while driving and system fails and engine does shut down , that is a dangerous situation. I know I am reporting that engine would not shut down but if a failure occurs and engine shuts down. System should be anylized. For possible failures.

I was driving my vehicle and all of the sudden it just turned off and said vehicle shift to p to select gear, and I kept pressing the gas and it wouldn’t move , I have nothing on my dash no lights or anything.

The contact was informed that the shift solenoid number 5 circuit range performance needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not under recall. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 83,300.

When starting the car and letting it warm up for 2 minutes. The vehicle shifts hard or takes it time to shift into next gear, and while idling for less than 5 minutes, the car warms up 32 degrees. Which I do not believe the fan motor is working properly. Also took car to dealership blown trans and engine mounts.

While accelerating on freeway, engine suddenly turned off. Fuel pump went out, and I had to coast to safety avoiding traffic. Having to move lanes into the shoulder was incredibly scary once my momentum dropped to 15mph on a freeway alongside cars going 85+. It almost caused 2 separate accidents where others had to slam on their brakes. I noticed other Renegades have recalls for this, I’m curious why mine does not when I enter in the VIN?.

When I speed up at times my cars engine will rev weird and when I go to back up the main screen is burned into the screen.

While driving my car, all of a sudden all my icons on my dashboard will light up. My car will die in the middle of driving it and once I put it in park it won't restart. Also when driving it seems like not enough gas is going through to get it to move. I can be driving my car for 15 to 20 minutes and all of a sudden it dies in the middle of the road. This is the 3rd time it has happened to me since owning it all withing the last year. . It is unsafe for me to have my car die in the middle of the road while traffic is all around me. Something is absolutely wrong with my car. Yet I put in my VIN for my particular car and it doesn't show a recall but on the 2017 Jeep Renegades there have been recalls for fuel pumps electrical and not enough fuel pressure.

I left it off for about 10 minutes and finally it turned back on but yet the battery and everything was good on the car, this is definitely a road hazard ??!.

The car keeps shutting off while driving. Had to replace battery twice in the last few months. Also had relays replaced. Problem keeps happening. Something is draining the battery. I read there were problems with this make and model where even when the vehicle is shut off, certain connections remain active and drains. Shutting down with no warning while driving is very unsafe.

Oil leak from faulty gasket in 2020 Jeep Renegade trailhawks. First appeared August 11th.

Vehicle has an oil leak due to a faulty vacuum pump and gasket which is causing the vehicle to leak an excessive amount throughout the engine and other components. It was seen by a repair shop and they pinpointed the leak. This could cause an engine to stall while driving if not fixed soon which could potentially involve being in a accident to cause injury and or even death. The leak first appeared in August 2025 and can not be driven until fixed. This issue is also happening to my husbands vehicle which is the same as mine.

The contact stated that the daughter reported that the stall was abrupt and that there were no warning lights. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic was unable to diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 18v524000 (electrical system), however her VIN was not part of the selection. The failure mileage was unknown.

I started having a problem with my air conditioner. I had to get my car serviced for an oil change and had an ac check. I was told that the reservoir was totally dry and it shouldn't be because it is a sealed system. It should be like the oil & just get dirty. The mechanic said I have to get a ridiculous procedure before they can even tell what the problem is where they add freeone to see what is going on and then take it back out and then I will have additional charges for the actual problem. Just to check is almost 500. 00. He told me he has been seeing this lately. I wonder if others have experienced this because I understand Chrysler is making Jeeps now and I haven't heard anything good. What does it take to constitute a recall?.

Something shot out of the engine and caused a large hole the car never overheated and oil changes were done properly. The dealership says sometimes these things just happen and is unable to tell me what shot through the engine.

While driving, the service engine warning came on and was followed by the coolant temperature high warning roughly 5 minutes after. The somewhat cool air coming out turned hot, even with the settings set to max cool air. Turned the vehicle off and found the engine code p0481 fan 2 control circuit, I allowed the car to cool before checking fuses for the cooling fan. The f07 engine cooling fan had a 40 amp fuse that was blown (note: the owner manual states the 40 amp fuse is for the 1. 4 without a/c, the 50 amp red was required for a 1. 4 with a/c and all 2. 4 models). A new 50 amp maxi fuse was installed and the car a/c cooled down for approximately 15 minutes. Then the coolant temperature started to rise again and white/grey smoke came out from under the hood. Thankfully I was able to find a safe place to stop my car, but I was driving with smoke obscuring my vision which was a serious safety issue that would have caused an accident especially if I had made it on the highway. The cooling fan was shaking and very noisy even as the car was turned off. After cooling down, the fuse was checked again and verified okay. So the cooling fan was replaced. Upon replacement, the a/c and coolant temperature were normal. But the service engine light remained and the code p0481 refused to clear. Currently monitoring the coolant temperature and new fan.
