The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while her grandmother was driving at 20 mph, the vehicle lost automotive power and stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that his grandmother called him, and he went to the site of the failure. After several attempts, the vehicle restarted. However, the vehicle drove slowly. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the residence, where the contact checked and found there was no oil in the engine. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed. The repair was pending. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 18v131000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

Driving on the highway car was starting to loose speed, lights on dash starting to flash I was able to pull off on the side of the road, car stalled and steering wheel locked up. After several minutes it turned on and drove away fine. This is not the first time this has happened. Did oil consumption test several times and stated I’m in the safe zone. This is a severe safety issue but no recalls for my VIN. I saw lots of cars have this same issue with engine stalling.

I have a u90 recall on my vehicle. I have contacted Jeep dealerships and the Jeep corp regarding this issue. I have been told that the parts are on back order and it will be months possibly a year to complete this recall. This is my daily driver and dmv won’t re register the vehicle without the recall being repaired. This is unacceptable. This is my daily driver and has passed smog no issues.

I just bought a 2018 Jeep Renegade 4 month ago carmax, so far 6 times, the engine. Just shuts off, last time my wife going on the freeway. I'm afraid that someone may get killed. Is they anything you can do to help is there a recall. We bought extended warrenty. Or is the car a lemon.

The contact attempted to depress the accelerator several times; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted, and the contact was able to continue driving. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,192.

On 3 occasions, in the past three weeks, the vehicle has lost power while in motion and display states “shift to park”. Restarting vehicle is required. This occurs while in motion and could be dangerous for driver and passenger. Car repair unable to diagnose issue. Reported numerous codes concerning “communication errors”.

The automobile will shut off during driving. On three separate occasions while driving the automobile has lost all drivability. The first occasion I was leaving work (01/02/2025) and as I went to accelerate on to the road from a dead stop, the engine shut off. I had to place the car back in park and depress the brake to start the engine again (by depressing the start engine button). The second occasion happened as I was entering the expressway (01/07/2025). I was turning off the main road onto the onramp of the expressway when the engine shut off again. This time I was accelerating up to around 40 mph when the engine shut off. Luckily, I was able to coast to a stop in the emergency lane. The steering locked up due to the engine shut down so I was not able to restart the car until putting it back in park to start the whole start sequence. The third occasion happened today (01/16/2025) as I was leaving school. I was leaving the parking lot when I went to accelerate from a stop the engine shut off again.

Complaint #11629826. I also have had safety issues with my 2016 Jeep Renegade. Engine shuts down while driving flashes check engine signs and has to be put in park to be restarted. Currently, engine stops while driving and " emergency brake goes on " I have to restart Jeep and drive with emergency brake on because it won't go off even though I have not set the brake on. This is happening frequently and almost was hit on the highway due to Jeep engine stopping while I was driving. I have had it in for service several times and paid for software/connection replacements etc. Problem still exists and very dangerous. Jeep dealership unsure how to fix the problem. Numerous dates of occurrence within the last 2 months-.

My 2017 Jeep Renegade is at a dealership for the third time. When I am accelerating at around 29 mph, there is a sudden jerk. It also occurs around 53 mph. It startles me every time this event occurs. Each time, I pay a deductible and the problem isn't fixed. Retirement isn't conducive to $500 repair bills. Can you help? this is definitely a problem with this model and needs to be rectified.

Summary of ongoing issues with shaver automotive & stellantis regarding w80 recall -initial reporting (December 2018): at 35,104 miles, I first reported engine stalling, performance issues, and excessive oil consumption to shaver automotive. -recall notification & incomplete testing (January 2024): I received a recall letter in January 2024 for the w80 oil consumption test. Shaver automotive performed the first part of the test but instructed me to return for part 2—which they subsequently delayed. -delays & failed recall test (July 2024–January 2025): from July to December 2024, shaver ignored multiple requests to schedule the second test. In January 2025, part 2 of the test was finally conducted. W80 recall test failed, prompting a promise of a new engine installation by mid-to-late March 2025. -dealership fraud & negligence (March–June 2025): from March to June 2025, shaver: -ignored all follow-up requests for updates. -falsified service records, including a fabricated appointment on 3/26/25 while I was out of town. -falsified mileage on my Jeep at said fabricated appointment. -closed my stellantis case without notification, obstructing resolution. -stellantis’ failure to intervene (2024–2025): despite three active case numbers (#93024832, #93352240, #93372613), stellantis repeatedly directed me back to shaver automotive, refusing to escalate or resolve the issue. -legal & ethical violations: shaver’s misconduct, mileage tampering, falsified documents, and deliberate delays, has left me with an unsafe vehicle for over 18 months, violating: -consumer protection laws (e. G. , magnuson-moss warranty act). -recall compliance obligations under NHTSA guidelines. Stellantis’ negligence in overseeing its dealership network exacerbated the harm.

Catalytic converter. Part was recalled on the same engine but cuts off at 2016, however, my 2017 has the exact same engine and exact same issue as the recall issued to prior years. The problem has been confirmed by a dealership and mechanic. I have had a check engine light on to notify me of this error.

Engine continuously leaks oil. Oil is all over under carriage. This has been a recurring problem that the dealer has tried to fix. Oil is all over our garage floor. If we do not monitor the oil level it could run out of oil. This vehicle is one year old and has had one recall and five attempts to fix an oil leak.

All motor mounts poorly manufactured too light. Need recalled as its a known problem.

On 11/28/2024 my 2029 Jeep Renegade multi air actuator failed we had just finished our drive when it failed. It spit oil everywhere and melted spark plug caps and cracked the value covers. We waited 4 months to get the part as it was on back order with thousands and we are still waiting on the value covers to this day. I pay payments monthly on a car I cannot drive and waiting on the parts because they are back ordered. I have spent thousands of dollars on parts and would hope thus would be a recall. If we were actively driving when it failed my family and I. Could have been badly injured.

The first generation with the 1. 4l turbo engine. Had two air lines coming off of the air filter container. They are solid and break when the dealer does the courtesy check during oil changes. It is a common problem showing online and the dealers do not take responsibility for it.

While driving the car, the wheel locked and we lost acceleration, and a warning light for the electric engine throttle came on. The car is undriveable, and we are extremely lucky that we were not in an accident. We suspect that the w79 recall for other Jeeps is implicated for our car.

The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with ignition cylinder compression failure, and the engine consuming an excessive amount of oil. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired because the vehicle was not under recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 119,747.

All motor engine mounts and transmission mounts notoriously gone bad. . . . Poorly manufactured. Should be recalled to be replaced on all these vehicles.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 38,000.

While driving, my radiator cooling fan malfunctioned and a piece broke off. The fan now does not work properly to cool my radiator and the car shakes when I turn on the ac or when I’m at idle.

Vehicle constantly overheats and the cooling fans go out. I work for a company that has 30 Jeep Renegades ranging from year 2020 to 2023. They all have this issue. Leaking coolant, ac going out, cooling fan needing replacement, not starting, stalling, overheating, etc. I can give all VIN numbers if necessary.

I bough this car in February with no knowledge of the prior lawsuit on these cars randomly stalling. The past month- my car has stalled multiple times, in the middle of the road and I lose all control. It is such a safety hazard because people will literally almost hit me. I have to hurry up and turn on the flashers and pull over and restart and try again. There is no warnings for this and once it stalls- the steering wheel locks as well! I thought it was bad gas but after doing all kinds of research , there was 2 previous recalls on this car for the same issue! if it was fixed, why is it still doing this? now I’m in a contract for this car and can’t afford to take a hit to my credit but it literally scares me to drive it! check engine light initially came on but since has disappeared. I have recorded my car doing this and honestly have just let it sit because I cannot afford a mechanical bill right now.

I have a 2023 Renegade 4x4. There are several current operating issues and a few which cause an extreme safety hazard: service forward collision warning light is on says brake lights out says left turn signal is out parking light out driver seatbelt light passenger seatbelt light push to start button - stop/start unavailable parking brake airbag light car turned off when foot idle and parking brake activated car jolts when foot is taken off of accelerator pedal at 45+mph car enters into forward collision prevention mode with there is not a vehicle in front. If the vehicle believes the seatbelts are not worn and there are issues with the airbag sensors then there is an extreme safety issue in the event of a collision.

Service air bag light has been on about 2 weeks. Tried to unlock car with key fob today. 8/6/2024. Wouldn't work so I replaced the fob battery. Nothing will work on car now. Won't start, can't manually unlock back doors. Couldn't get it in neutral to get on flatbed tow truck. Dealership said it'll be at least 2days before they can look at it. Said there's a recall but no remedy/ parts to be able to fix. Now I have no transportation. And they have no loner car to give me. Worked fine yesterday . Been parked in my driveway.

Was driving with cruise CO trip on going about 70 mph. On an interstate. All of a sudden I saw my dash all go out and was pushing down on my accelerator and had no power and car was slowing down. Next it came back on and the the steering wheel light with exclamation showed up. Today 2 days later driving and it states service 4wd and the. When at a stop light it again did the same thing and this time shut down. This is a high priority in my mind I can’t allow younger drivers to drive. I see other complaints like this too. My spouse also observed the first time. Could of cause fatalities and or severe harm.

On 7/26/2024 I was driving my 2017 Jeep Renegade 1. 4l eastbound on I-70 going ~65mph. My dash had zero warning lamps or messages and there were no other symptoms of any problem yet suddenly at mile marker 188 my engine had no power, abundant smoke exited my tailpipe and engine, and I was forced to immediately pull over into a shallow construction zone with heavy interstate traffic whizzing past us. I turned my vehicle off and just turned the power back on for any information. Only then did the check engine light illuminate. I searched through my dash indicators and saw that there was simply no reading for oil temperature. I have immaculate maintenance records since the day I purchased my vehicle in 2019 including regular full synthetic oil and filter changes (on average 2,989 miles for years). I had two multi-point vehicle inspections at my original dealer (my due diligence maintenance before my extended warranty expired) around 2,000 miles, an oil change 1,038 miles, and a cooling system pressure test at 1,029 miles before this incident occurred. I had two independent, certified mechanic companies diagnose and confirm my vehicle condition: cylinder 1 had no compression with a crack in the piston. My vast research on Jeep Renegades with 1. 4l and 2. 4l engines validates all my issues. I believe this catastrophic engine failure at a shocking odometer reading of 61,881 is due to a defect and it puts me and others at major safety risk. This was my second financially offensive event as my first involved having to replace my clutch system at mile 45,057 for ~$4,500 despite having owned and properly operated other manuals with no issue for years. In addition to the cost of maintenance, multiple expensive repairs, numerous towing events, mechanic diagnostics, renting cars when this Jeep failed me, I am now looking at a $10,000 engine fix for a historically unreliable vehicle. When attempting to accelerate the vehicle hesitates for several seconds and does not move then lurches forward. It leaves me with no power in the middle of the road or when crossing a highway. It is intermittent but very dangerous. It happens from a stand still and while slowing down and then accelerating. This is a common issue in many Jeep Renegade forums and aftermarket parts are readily available to fix this issue. Why can't Jeep? the aftermarket part was recommended by multiple Jeep Renegade owners as it does adust the tuning and gas pedal response. Why can't Jeep fix this wide spread serious safety issue? how many accidents have happened because of this extreme power turbo lag? the lag is extreme. Far beyond the typical turbo lag. It happens daily.

1st issue was the a/c unit which mechanic said was a factory defective part. Replaced under warranty & now is not working again. 2nd issue is coolant & flushing system. Replaced las year & mechanic said it was a factory defective part. This was 2 different mechanics. I just had my car overheat on me again nearly a year later with sludge in the tank again. I am payong wayyyyy too much money for this to be on me again! I need repairs done at your cost and a car to drive.

Engine is the big problem. When I drive the engine randomly shuts off without any warning. I’ve been on the freeway when it shuts down and I don’t have enough time to get over to safety. And I fear for my life every time it happens. It’s a safety hazard for others around me as well because my car stops without warning and others are going full speed around me. We have taken it do the dealership, service center, auto shops and no one has an answer or solution for us. We took it to the Jeep service center and they didn’t know what was going on. Other than that we haven’t taken it to a manufacturer. There were so symptoms or warnings before this was happening.

My vehicle is experiencing the same exact engine issue that a technical bulletin has been issued for. The bulletin is for affected vehicle manufactured after 2021 which would qualify for warranty reimbursement. My vehicle is a 2019 with 54k miles on it. The problem started at appx 48k miles 4 months ago. The bulletin number is TSB 09-006-23 (low oil pressure) when the check engine light turns on the car will drive normal then at times the Jeep will not go over 3300 rpms causing a lack of power to accelerate. I have experienced situations where I cannot accelerate while driving or accelerate from a stop while trying to merge on to a highway. The bulletin is issued for a large repair. Please review this failure of parts to trace back to the appropriate years affected. This could result in a vehicle crash.

Engine stalled (lost power) while driving on the interstate during rush hour traffic. I had to pull into emergency lane. This happened 3 times within an hour or so. We almost wrecked the car. Very scary and dangerous situation. I checked and there are no recalls with my VIN number. I’m not sure what to do now.
