I purchased the 2007 Jeep Wrangler used with 77, 000 miles on it. I now have 84500. Every single time I fill up with gas, once a week, it overflows out of the end spilling on the fender, driver side and ground. I have learned never to stand near it. Since getting soaked a few times.
Everytime I fill up the vehicle, there is substantial fuel overflow. This happens regardless of the amount filling up, regardless of the pump or station, and regardless of the nozzle itself. There is enough fuel spillage to fill at least a 16 oz. Cup every time I fill up.
This has happend a few times but when fueling up when full gas would spit out (a lot) and run down the side of my Jeep and leave a puddle at the gas pump.
Cpsc#i1230153a. 2007 Jeep jk Wrangler. Consumer stated that everytime he puts fuel in his vehicle approximately . 5 to 1 quarts of fuel spits back out.
3rd fill up in 3 weeks, once again was filling up and gas poured all over side of my Jeep and the ground when filling up. Spilled approximately 3-4 quarts of fuel on the ground.
Fuel does not shutoff automatically until fuel overflows. Spills all over the side of the vehicle and on the ground.
While filling up my 07 Jeep Wrangler jk, fuel spit back during refueling. The pump handle shut off, but approximately 1/2 to 1/2 gallon of gas poured out of my Jeep, dousing me in fuel. It has happened twice at 2 different gas stations. Once on Feb. 10-2012 @ 55,879 miles, and again on Feb. 16-2012 at 56,123 miles.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler sahara. The contact stated after refueling the vehicle it spew out of the filler neck. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance; however, they referred him to NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 46,000. Updated 03/14/lj.
I just bought Jeep used. First time I filled up the pump cut off and then there was a surge of gas that spewed out. On second refill today at a different station with new pumps same thing happened gas spewed under such force it would have gotten in eyes had I not had sunglasses on. Spillage was over a liter and was all over clothing and attendant had to spread absorbent.
When filling up, gas overflows out of filler neck. Does not matter about fuel flow being fast or slow.
When filling the fuel on the 2007 Jeep Wrangler, after the automatic shut off of the pump, fuel spills out of the filler neck covering the side of the Jeep.
When filling up with gas and setting the locking mechanism on the fuel nozzle, upon fillup, fuel will spray out of the fuel filler before the nozzle disengages. This has been repeated at all of the subsequent fillups, using different stations and pumps. Fuel will spill onto the ground, side of vehicle, bumper area, and on the person refueling.
The throttle control light came on at 40 mph and then started flashing and I had no throttle and had to drive home on idle. This was a used car on the way home from purchase. The Jeep dealer had it for three days and says the garage computer corrected the problem, but it still happens about one a month, I have to pull over, shut the key off and restart for it to work,.
While fueling the car, when the pump shut off, several cups of gasoline overflowed onto the car and ground below. I've owned the car less than two weeks and have only filled it up twice. Both times gas overflowed on the ground. This is not only inconvenient, it also wastes money and is an environmental hazard. I am trying to see if this repair can be covered under warrantee.
Every time that I fill my vehicle up with fuel it overflows and spills all over the side of the vehicle and onto the ground. At first, I just thought it was the pumps at the gas station I normally go to, but recently I've started to go to a new gas station and the same thing is happening. What finally brought it to my attention was that I was filling up, and someone with the same year (2007) Jeep was getting gas right next to me and the same thing happened to him. I know 2 other people with Jeep Wranglers and theirs are doing the same thing. I'd be willing to bet most have this problem. It's not only bad for the environment, it's a dangerous situation as well.
Every time I fill my Jeep Wrangler with gas as soon as the gas pump stops pumping it spits fuel back out of the filler tube. I have tried several gas stations and it happens every time.
Fuel spills out of the filler port during the refueling process. Investigation #pe10032.
Gas overflows consistently when filling my 2007 Jeep Wrangler.
Fuel burp around fuel nozzle after the auto shutoff claicks and stops fuel flow. Fuel goes down the side of the Jeep and onto the rear bumper. Haooens every fillup no matter waht the fill rate of the station system.

Fuel burp around fuel nozzle after auto shutoff. Fuel goes down the side of the Jeep and onto the rear bumper. Happens every fillup.
I am the owner of a Jeep jk four door sahara Wrangler. . . . 2007 model. Since I have owned it I have had it spit/ hurl fuel every single time I fill it up. Its gotten so bad that I now purposely have to watch it and can't do a complete fillup.
Fuel spillage while refilling.
Jeep Wrangler spits gas during fueling, overflows down side of vehicle.
Fuel burp around fuel nozzle after auto shutoff, down side of Jeep and onto bumper. Happening every fillup after odometer has passed 50,000 miles.
Purchased a 2007 Jeep Wrangler jk about 6 weeks ago. I have tried different gas stations. Gas will spill out when filling up. Pump nozzle will release/pop after gas is already over flowed and on the ground.
Fuel splashes out of filler neck on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited at fill-ups when the pump automatically shuts off. It has occurred in warm and cold weather, and at several different gas stations both with and without vapor recovery type nozzles. An estimated 1-2 cups of fuel can splash out, getting all over me, the vehicle and the ground. Originally the problem never occurred, but now happens 50% or more of the time having started perhaps two years ago. I thought it might just be me until I learned recently NHTSA was looking into the issue. This problem can be a potential fire/explosion hazard, as I often see idiots smoking while refueling their vehicles. Not to mention other potential health and inconvenience issues due to contact with gasoline.
While refueling the auto shutoff devices clicks and then fuel is burped out of the filler and down the side of the Jeep and onto the reae bumper. This happening at every fillup since the odometer has passed 50,000 miles.
Every time I fill up my 2007 Jeep Wrangler jk unlimited it suddenly overflows pouring gas all over me, the ground, and the Jeep. This occurs everytime I fill up the Jeep. Even if I slow the pump down when getting close to full it still spits fuel out. I've tried several different gas station with the same dangerous results.
2007 Jeep Wrangler splashes fuel out of the filler neck when refueled (after pump clicks off). Gas is spilled on the vehicle and on the ground. I took it to the dealer when it was still under warranty in 2007 as it was happening intermittently, they could not find a problem. Since that time it has gotten increasingly worse occurring each time it's refueled.
While refeueling vehicle and the auto shutoff device clicked and fuel was burped out of the filler and down the sdie of the Jeep and onto the bumper. It does this on all flow rates. This is at gas stations that I used for other fillups with no spillage. It is happening at every fillup that has been done after mileage has reached 50,000 miles.
Bought this Jeep used in Feb 2011. It spills fuel everywhere during fill up at gas pump when nozzle cuts off. It happens every time and at multiple stations. I have to usually only put 15-18 gallons in to prevent it from spilling over. There have been numerous times it has spit and spilled on myself or my wife during fueling.
Everytime I fill up my 2007 Jeep Wrangler at the gas station, it overflows about 1/2 gallon of fuel down the side of my Jeep and onto the ground. I have tried using different pump stations, but nothing stops it from overflowing.
2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited fuel spills out when refueling. Every time I refuel, no matter if I use the auto pump or not, it will run out on the side of the vehicle.
While refueling the vehicle and the auto shutoff device clicked fuel was burped out of the filler and down the side of the Jeep and onto the rear bumper. This is occuring at every fillup since the 50,000 mile mark on the odometer. It does it with the fill nozzle set at any flow rate.
