While fueling up the 2007 Jeep Wrangler sahara unlimited the fuel spills out of the fill port causing gas to spill over the vehicle and the ground. This has happend on numerous occasions.
Vehicle stalls out in traffic, despite battery being fully charged. With a restart, the battery symbol remains illuminated, and eventually the vehicle will stall out again. Occurred in heavy traffic creating traffic hazard. Remains a recurring problem that is only remedied by completely shutting off engine and waiting several minutes, then restarting it and checking to confirm that the battery symbol is no longer illuminated. Sometimes a battery jump-start is required. One dangerous alternative is to turn off the ignition while vehicle is rolling, restarting the vehicle, but obvious hazards of locked steering wheel, loss of control and possible crashes would result.
When filling up with fuel and allowing the pump to shut off automatically, the fuel will overflow about a 1 gallon when the pump kicks off. If you manually stop fueling, then pump slowly, it will kick off without overflowing. I have not have this corrected yet.
When filling with gas spews out. On January 10th flew out so bad, my winter coat, pants, gloves and shoes were ruined. Been ongoing problem. Has repair orders from dealership. In addition, the hard top has leaked since day one and never been repaired. I am not driving vehicle since the awful spillage on January 10th. I cannot afford to keep ruining clothes. In addition, concerned it can cause further problem (ie, perhaps fire). Always in attendance while filling. Spoken with several other Jeep owners experiencing same problem. What's it going to take for Chrysler to correct this default, a death, or severe injury. If not winter time I feel I would have been burned on my skin by the gasoline.
Fuel spills out of the filler port during the refueling process.
Filled up my 2007 Jeep Wrangler sahara unlimited and the gas overflowed and sprayed in my face and eyes. I had to rush into the bathroom and flush my eyes and face with water. I does this everytime you fill up, this time it just got me in the face. Needs to recalled and fixed. My dealer won't fix it under warranty since its been over 3 years. Its gonna kill someone, what if it caught fire? not to mention the environmental impact of putting that much gas on the ground.
While refueling my vehical, the gas pump does not shut off in time to prevent an overflow and spill of gasoline onto my person and the ground. This will happen everytime I fill up. . The only compensitor action I have taken thus far is to esimate the amount of fuel that is needed for a fill up and make sure I stop refueling approximatly 1 gallon ahead of this point.
Gas overspills from the filling neck when re-fueling at almost every gas station.
Our 2007 Wrangler unlimited has 115,000 miles on it and has suddenly started overflowing gas when filling up. I feel this is a safety issue along with an environmental issue. I'm in talks with Chrysler and hope they will pay to fix an obviously defective system.
2007 Jeep Wrangler. Gas overflows when refueling. It happens when you just let the pump click off when full. I have never tried to overfill it, or "top it off". You simply fill until the pump clicks, and then a fair amount of fuel seems to bubble back out. It runs down the side of the vehicle and then leaves a fairly large puddle on the ground. This is definitely a safety hazard. This did not happen for about the first 2-1/2 years of ownership (23,000 miles) now it is just about every fill up.
Each time I fill my 2007 Jeep Wrangler with gasoline, a substantial amount of gasoline comes out of the fuel filler neck with a great deal of force, and is poured or sprayed onto the ground, as well as myself and the vehicle. This forms asks for an incident date, and I have entered today's date, but the incident is recurring.
2007 Jeep Wrangler spills fuel onto ground when fueling is complete.
Gas overflows every time when filling up.
When refueling my vehicle, gasoline spills out of the filler tube and on to the vehicle and the person refueling.
When refueling the gas will spray out of the port when it is reaching full before the pump will kick off. I have gotten gas on my shoes and pants several times. It has even sprayed out so bad before that gas got on another person on the other side of the pump. It is almost impossible to fill up without spilling everywhere.
For the past two winters, every time I fill up my 2007 Jeep Wrangler, if I allow the pump to automatically shut off, fuel blows out the filler and gets all over the Jeep, the ground, me and sometimes the pump. This does not happen if I shut off the pump manually well before the vehicle is full. I should also note that there is a lag between the time the pump shuts off and the time the spill occurs of approximately 2-3 seconds.
Fuel overflow from filler tube onto person pumping fuel, vehicle and surrounding environment.
For the past two years, almost everytime I fill my Jeep the gas overflows right after pump shuts off. I've even tried to stop the pump and pull it out to let it settle before completely filling, but this hasn't helped. There is usually enough gas coming out to create a 3 foot puddle on the ground. This has happened at different stations, in different types of weather.
When fueling up the vehicle, when the auto shut off turns the pump off the fuel overflows out of the fuel port. Even when slow pumping it still overflows.
Gasoline pours out of the fill pipe covering the owner and making a large puddle.
Gas overflow during the fueling process.
2007 Jeep sahara unlimited. Fuel overflows out of the filler tube when refueling. Spills onto the vehicle, the ground, and sometimes the person fueling.
I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler rubicon 2-door and every time I fill gasoline it spews out everywhere and this does not matter how fast the flow of gas is or at what depth the pump handle is. It is enough gas to come up and out of the filler tube run down my rear quarter panel and make a puddle on the ground. Not a safe situation with the uncontrollable discharge of a highly flamable liquid.
07 Jeep Wrangler unlimited - fuel spillage / overflow when fueling vehicle. Auto nozzle shutoff does not, causing fuel spillage onto vehicle and ground. Environmental and safety hazard. Jeep dealer denies any knowledge of known issue.
2007 Jeep Wrangler x fuel spits back when filling. Started at about 20,000 miles.
Fuel flow overflow several times several gallons lost each time.
2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited x when refueling the vehicle, often the overflow shutoff will not work and gasoline will pour out the vehicle or splash down the side of the vehicle. This is possibly more serious due to the plastic fenders which may generate a static electricity shock in the right circumstances.
2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. During fueling with the gas pump on auto cut off. . . . Fuel spews out of the filler neck. Pump must be turned off manually. It happens each time I fuel. I am very careful now about only manually filling and very slowly.
Jeep 2007 Wrangler unlimited. When filing the vehicle with gas the pump does not automatically shut off causing gas to overflow and spill down the side of the vehicle. As this situation has occurred at several filing stations and to other Jeep owners I suspect this is a design flaw of the vehicle.
I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. For about the last year I have had fuel spillage every time I fill up my Jeep with gas. The pump kicks the pump off but the fuel comes gushing out of the opening all over the side of the Jeep and onto the ground. Was told that there is no fix for this at this time.
Fuel overflow beginning at 32,345 miles on an 07 Jeep Wrangler x model.
Fuel spill every time it is filled. As the pump clicks off it starts venting fuel on the person filling & on the ground.
About three months ago fuel starting spilling out of vehicle during re-fueling.
Just purchased a used 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited and have yet to figure out how to fuel up without massive overflow at full. Never have I experienced such a large amount of overflow on any other vehicle I have owned. This occurs on the first shut off at full, not under topping off (which I know should not be done). I have experienced the same overflow at every fuel up and at different fuel stations.
Filled up my 2007 Jeep Wrangler jk 4 door at the gas station. Upon reaching the full mark, the pump shut off and about 1 second later, fuel spurted out of the fuel neck and cap opening all over me and the side of my Jeep. Since then it has continually happening every time I fill up. I have tried different gas stations to rule out a certain gas station.
