The fuel tank overflows when filling up. The fill nozzle shuts off then gasoline shoots out of the fill tube of the tank spilling one or two cups of fuel.
Every time I fill up my gas tank the fuel will overflow as much as a quart out of the fuel inlet down my rear fender, bumper, and to the ground after releasing the gas spout handle stopping the flow of fuel.
Gas tank overfill. When fueling, after the gas station pump clicks off, large volumes of gasoline are ejected from the gas tank onto the side of the vehicle, onto the pump handle itself, and onto the person doing the fueling (me). Again, this happens *after* the gas pump clicks itself off.
Gas tank overflowing during full up. Was intermitent since 45,000 miles. Overflows at every fullup now at 70,500 miles.
When I fill up my gas tank, it 'spits back' fuel before shutting off leaving gas dripping down my fenders and onto the ground. It doesn't appear to be too much gas but still leaves everything wet with gas including the gas pump. This happens when using the auto shut-off feature of the pump. It also happens when on the low speed setting. This started around 50k miles and continues now at 55k miles.

Gas tank overflows when filling.
2007 Jeep Wrangler - every time I fill the gas tank, since roughly 10,000 miles (now at 63,000) the auto shut off feature of gas pumps will not shut off in time. This causes roughly 1/4 gallon of fuel to spill down the side of the vehicle. This has been a reoccurring situation for a couple years. I cannot rely on the auto-shut off of the pump with this vehicle. This is a known issue for many Jeep Wrangler owners, since the new model from 2007. Multiple attempts to fix under warranty were denied by dealerships. I am finally scheduled to replace the gas tank (a known fix for the issue); but will be paying for it out of pocket, as the warranty has since expired.
On January 10, 2011 doused with gas spilling while filling tank. Had to throw away all clothes. Every time gas tank is filled it spews out. I am in attendance of pump at all times. Chrysler hot line contacted and refuses to address the problem. They want me to pay deductible. Ongoing problem for approximately past 1. 5 years of owning 2007 Jeep Wrangler sahara 4 door. I am no longer driving until problem corrected. In additional hard tops have leaked since day one of owning. Several ro's (repair orders) on this problem.

Every time I fill up my gas tank it overflows. It doesn't matter if the pump is on slow, fast, or I am manually pumping it. I've tried different stations, some flat, some angled, nothing helps. I just spill gasoline all over the floor and sometimes myself.
My Jeep gas tank overflows when filling the tank at the gas station.
My '07 Jeep Wrangler jk began to overflow fuel at nearly every fill up. This started in approximately November '10 with about 38,000 miles on the Jeep. At times the gas will spew out with significant force, creating a serious hazard. Other times it pours out right past the filler handle and pours down the side of the Jeep and all over the ground. It has done this even after I have tried to relieve some of the pressure in the gas tank by stopping the pump, removing handle from filler neck, then re-inserting to resume fueling. This is a dangerous condition that needs to be addressed. I am aware that many other owners of the new Wrangler jk have the same issue.
Fuel tank burps air and gasoline down the side of the Jeep and on the bumper. This occurs after the auto shutoff has clicked shutting off fuel flow. I did not add any fuel after the click of the auto shutoff. This is now occurring at every fillup, since going over the 50,000 mile mark.

The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnosis or repairs. The manufacturer was contact but denied assistance with repairs. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 59,000.
I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. The continues to be a problem with the gas filler and the fact that gas bubbles back out the filler hose when the tank is filled. It occurs when the gas trigger is set to shut off automatically. Once the tank gets full of close to full and the trigger is shut off gas will gush back out the hose onto the side of the car, my shoes and all over the ground. Depending on the strength of the gas pump as much as 2 pint have bubbled back out.
I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 (4dr) and now, whenever I fill the tank, fuel spills out of the filler port during the refueling process. In essence it is exactly as the complaint that is filed with Chrysler mentions -- "this condition generally occurs when the fuel tank is filled to the full or nearly full level and the gas pump automatically shuts or clicks off. " fuel spills on me, the car and the ground. I would say in excess of a couple quarts.

While filling gas tank, overflowed just after automatic shutoff device clicked shutting off fuel flow. The tank was just below half full. The overflow out the filler tube or the slow rate of fill (odi # 10368063) seems to be occurring at every fillup now that I have past 50,000 miles on the speedometer. This is happening at gas stations that I commonly use in my area and never had an issue.
