Air bag indicator light goes on and off after the vehicle is initially started. Will go on and off at all times while driving vehicle. Sometimes will stay off for a long period of time and then come on. Other times it will stay off for s short period of time and then come back on.
In October 2016 took my car in for oil change and the dealership advised me of a recall of clock spring. I have had my car in 4 times for faulty clock springs. My airbag lights and horn go off at random times sometimes my horn never works and my air bag light goes crazy with the horn. . . Like the car is possessed.
Air bag light comes on and off randomly. A recall was issued but not for this VIN.
Air bag light goes on and off while driving. My issue seems consistent with recalls due to clock spring failure in right hand model Jeeps. Call to Chrysler confirmed as such, but they won't commit to fix until recall investigation underway is concluded.
Second time the clock spring has gone defective. Airbag light on. Dealership charging for diagnosis and repair. Check all the Jeep groups, this is a common problem and needs to be addressed by Chrysler.
Airbag light intermittently goes on and off constantly and when the dealer diagnosed the problem as an issue with the clockspring and ordered the part, it had to be special ordered because it was on special back order and I was told I was 503 on the waiting list! it is apparently a safety issue as I'm told I have to replace it or the airbag is not working when the airbag light is on. The repair estimate is over $530.
The airbag light started coming on and off and sounding a chime as the steering wheel is turned about a year ago. Now it stays on all the time. There is a recall for the clockspring but it doesn't apply to my vehicle which I don't understand as it obviously has the problem. I understand my airbag won't work in this condition and is a safety issue.
Check airbag light coming on and beeping intermittently when vehicle was in motion. Took Jeep to dealership, was advised clockspring (in steering column) was faulty with squib 1 circuit open. Had to pay out of pocket for all repairs, even though Jeep has a current recall on this issue (s33 clockspring) for same model year and others. No resolution when speaking with Jeep customer care who claimed my VIN was not part of the current recall for the exact same problem.
Air bag light is on from a defective clock spring and the vehicle still spits out gas when I fill up.
My airbag light continues to go on and off while driving. Upon investigation I am not the only owner who has been experiencing this issue, it is quite common.
Airbag light illuminates and chimes. Light goes out during turns, but re-illuminates once steering wheel is straightened back out. Problem is chronic. I understand Jeep has a recall on 2007 Jeeps for same issue and rhd versions for later years.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started the air bags warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer whitten brothers Jeep of richmond virginia 804-378-0707 for a diagnosis, they determine that the occupant restraint module was defective and needed replacement. The contact also stated that the vehicle was repaired by the same dealer for an air bags recall three times. The vehicle was not repaired this last time. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 197,000. Bp.
My air bag light has been turning on and off when I am driving the Jeep. It chimes every time it lights up, then goes out, then chimes and lights up again fairly often.
Air bag light and audible alarm coming on, every time I drove the vehicle. I was worried the air bag would deploy accidentally or that it would not deploy if I had an accident. I took to dealer in thomson, GA. Paid $594 to have airbag clock sping replaced.
When driving in a straight direction at any speed the airbag light comes on. The light will go out when turning but will come back on when the wheel is straight again. Also the horn will not sound ( no fuse are blown) problem believed to be clock spring.
The air bag light came on and stayed on. This occurred while driving off road on sand and while turning. Dealer indicated the fix was going to cost over $500 dollars. They indicated some faulty wiring.
Possible faulty clock spring issue as seen in many other Jeep Wranglers made after 2007. Airbag light comes on with audible warning every other minute and signals the driver that there could be a failure of the airbag or early deployment. This is a known issue by Jeep but they have chosen to only pursue right hand drive rhd Jeeps even though many complaints have been issued by left hand drive lhd Jeep owners as well. Jeep admitted the original clock springs were failing and said they were working on a new one. I called Jeep yesterday and was told it would not be covered, but that I should hang on to my bills in case it ever becomes covered. I only have 30,500 miles on my Jeep. Many owners have gone through this and only a few have been taken care of. This is a factory product safety issue that should be covered by Jeep.
Airbag light goes off and on, driving or sitting.
Clock spring self-destructed at just over 45000 miles. Airbag light is now on and the ribbon cable is unwinding out of the steering column. Same issue that was being reported by owners and has been recalled for 2007 model year.
The airbag clock spring in my 2008 Jeep Wrangler has stopped working. I took it to a mechanic after noticing the airbag light coming on and he said the clock spring has stopped functioning, and if I were to get in an accident it would not deploy and I would probably be killed. Called my local dealer and they said I would have to pay out of pocket for the fix because there are no recalls for my year. Chrysler needs to be the one to fix this safety issue because airbags are not a wear and tear part and should be made properly.
The airbag light of my 2008 Jeep wranger intermittently comes on during driving and the horn doesn't work. Likely a bad clockspring.
While driving my car started displaying issues with the air bag. The dash is intermittently displaying a airbag light. This continually turns on and off. I have researched solutions for this and learned that Jeep Wrangler 2007 has recalled this specific part but nothing has been done regarding subsequent years. I fear that this may pose a safety concern as it is a direct issue with the airbag.
Takata recall: Jeep built Jan. 24, 2008, airbag light has been an issue for over a year - horn has always been spotty but always lucky at inspection until recently. So, airbag light dinging/on and now horn not working due to clockspring. Recall research showed to be eligible item but dealership and Chrysler recall 800 # folks said this Jeep didn't qualify. Damage will be getting clockspring replaced by dealership for more than $500.
Clockspring wiring in the lhd side air bag circuit failed causing airbag indicator to turn on. Paid around $700 tax to have this defective part replaced (((.
The air bag light keeps coming on and off as the car is driven. I have done research and it appears this is quite common in the cars. My concern is does the air bag work or not. My 16 year old child used to drive this car but does not anymore. They recalled Jeeps with the steering wheels on the left side with the exact same problem that I am describing. This is dangerous and not sure why no one is forcing a recall on this. I was originally told this was covered in a recall by galeana Jeep in columbia s. C. And brought my Jeep in to get worked on. When I got my Jeep back the light was still turning on and off and I was told it was not covered. This is not good business.
Airbag light started to go on and off including a warning sound around 40,000 miles. It comes on and stays on for a while and then goes off and comes back on. Believed to be related to the clockspring.
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. While driving at various speeds, the air bag warning indicator illuminate on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clock spring failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v176000 (air bags). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,039.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated the airbag warning indicator is illuminating for approximately two weeks. The vehicle has not been taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnosis. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 59,300. Bp.
Air bag light is coming on at various times. It will come on then go off. It makes a chiming sound. It does this while driving when I hit a hard bump or turn the wheel. I called Chrysler and they will not fix it. Should this not be a safety thing that they should fix for the life of the vehicle? I read that they have recalled certain ones even ones in my year. . . But not my VIN number for this exact problem! I am very concerned that if I would need my airbags that they would not work. I have read this is a result of the clock spring needing repair and I don't have the money to get it fixed.
The airbag light continually turns on and off in my Jeep. This is accompanied with a continuous warning ping that goes off when you are almost out of gas or need something checked ASAP. This is probably because the airbag will not work and is a safety hazard. 2007 Jeeps have a recall for this and it is a faulty coil spring in the steering wheel. Looking on any forum site or even this one and you will see multiple complaints of the same issue. Jeep told me that I would need to pay out of pocket to get this fixed until a recall is issued. Considering my Jeep and many others are having this occur well before 100k miles there is an issue with the part that they are putting into the cars.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the air bags light was constantly illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a independent mechanic where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v176000 (air bags). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Ec.
Failed clockspring at 104,000 miles. Intermitted airbag light.
The airbag light and chime randomly turns on and off while driving under all conditions.
