Tl the contact owns a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle automatically went into limp mode and the hot oil and check engine warning indicators illuminated. The contact also mentioned that the rpms failed to increase. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle for the indicators to dim. The vehicle was taken to feeny Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram of midland (7400 eastman Ave, midland, mi 48642) where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module needed to be replaced and there was corrosion in the totally integrated power module. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred a year later. In addition, the vehicle failed to start. The contact mentioned that the starter was replaced and the vehicle was driveable for two days; however, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated continuously. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and they stated that the fuel pump module needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 62,521.

2010 Jeep Wrangler rubicon unlimited: while refueling my vehicle I engaged the handle to continue fueling while I went inside the gas station. When I returned, the pump had disengaged, but there was fuel all over the side of my Jeep and on the ground. My fuel gauge registered full and this had never happened so I thought the fuel pump may have been faulty. My next trip to the gas station, I monitored it more closely and was able to refuel as normal confirming my original thought that the pump had malfunctioned. During my next attempt to refuel I had again engaged the handle to continue fueling as I sat inside the vehicle. I heard the thunk of the automatic shut off and saw again the gas had sprayed all over the side of my Jeep and on the ground. This was not the same gas station as the original occurrence so I believed the problem was actually my gas tank. I took my Jeep to the dealership where they replaced my gas tank without explanation. At this point I had approximately 22k miles on my Jeep. I purchased my Jeep new in August 2010 with 154 miles on it. I have owned it for 18 months and it has approximately 22k miles on it.

During fueling, after the auto-shutoff of the fuel pump stops the fuel dispensing, fuel overflows (approx. 1/2-1 gallon) from the fuel tank past the still in-place pump handle causing fuel to spill on the side of the vehicle, the ground, and on anyone standing directly beside the fuel inlet.

When filling up the Jeep with gas this morning, fuel shot out of the Jeep about 3 feet and also ran down the side of the Jeep right when the fuel pump shut off. Had I been standing in front of the fuel tank, I would have been covered in gas to include my face. This is a known problem and Chrysler needs to recall this! this is not only a safety probem, but a hazmat problem as well.

Jeep Wrangler rubicon unlimited fuel overflows everytime at the pump. Does not matter where I fill up or how I put the nozzel in the tank. Fuel pump shuts off and split seconds later about a cup of fuel will spit out, about 1 to 2 feet and run down the body. If you were standing in the wrong spot it would be a real mess. I just purchased this vehicle used and called the previous owner - he said he bought it with 8000 miles on it and it has done it since it was new.
When pumping fuel into the vehicle when the tank gets full the fuel pump doesn't shut off, instead the fuel sprays out all over the side of the vehicle and on the ground.
Whenever the vehicle is filled completely with gas the gas pump will quit pumping fuel but 1/2 - 1 cup of fuel spills out every time after the fuel pump shuts off.
When I was at a gas station that didn't have a fuel vapor recovery system on the fuel pump handle, fuel would spit back out when the fuel tank got full, getting fuel on the pump handle and down the side of the Jeep.
When filling up the vehicle at any and all gas stations, when the fuel pump handle clicks off automatically, a fairly large splash-back of gasoline exits the filler port and flows onto the vehicle, my hand, and the ground.

Vehicle stopped running while driving locally. Steering and braking became difficult. Could have been dangerous at higher speed. Diagnosis by a local mechanic (superior collision & auto service, gardnerville, nv 775-782-2966) was an internal short in the fuel pump module which caused the fuel pump to stop operating and the engine to quit. The fuel pump module is located inside the fuel tank, in the direct presence of gasoline and gasoline vapor. Upon examining the fuel pump module the mechanic determined that the wiring leads to the pump unit had shorted against the module's aluminum housing due to chafing of the wiring insulation on the edge of the housing. They and I believe that if this short had caused a spark it could have ignited the fuel in the tank, causing an explosion or fire. I have owned this vehicle since new and this part had never been serviced or replaced. It was as installed at the factory. To correct this the mechanic installed a new fuel pump module. He said the wiring on the replacement module appears to have been routed more carefully to avoid this problem. I have the faulty module in my possession.

Fuel does not shut-off at fuel pump and gas spills out every time I re-fuel. The dealership didn't fix this when I recently had the vehicle serviced because it wasn't a re-call. I have since complained and it will be fixed under warranty during my next visit.
Was 4 wheeling and smell fuel out of the right side rear. Dealer installed o ring: fuel pump and level. Installed new fuel tank. 07/01/2011 smelled fuel coming from right rear. Dealer did smoke test and found leak at the evap canister installed new vent canister. 08/04/2011. Still smell fuel from right rear, dealer did smoke test found no leaks, but could smell fuel vapor in right rear. Stated that when off rode fuel moves more in the tank and that the Jeep is safe, and no fix at this time. How can this be true??. If I would strike a match it would explode and life could be lost.
When fueling up, many times the fuel pump will shut off and the fuel will spill out of the filler neck. I've tried slowing down the flow of fuel just prior to a full tank with no change. It happens a lot, but not every time. I've tried angling my vehicle with the filler neck down hill and up but it randomly spills fuel. I've tried waiting once coming to a stop prior to turning off the engine with no rhyme or reason to when it will spill fuel.
When filling the car with fuel at various gas stations over the last 3 months the fuel pump does not shut off. This causes gasoline to spill out over the filler neck. The spill is strong enough where it spews back a few inches towards the person standing next to the tank.
When refueling my 2007 Jeep wrankler (4dr) the fuel will overflow back out of the tank without warning. This occurs when locking the fuel pump handle as some places allow and when fueling up manually. There is no way to know when to stop fueling before this occurs uhnless you try to remove the nozzle and look into the fill hole while slowly pumping the fuel.
Fuel spills out each time I fill my tank. Fuel pump kicks off as designed, but is followed by 2-3 cups of gas spilling out with force that covers the pump handle, side of vehicle, ground under vehicle, and anyone standing too close.
While fueling vehicle at gas station, fuel splashes out before fuel pump shuts off at fill up. Regardless of gas station or speed at which pump is set at fuel always spills unto vehicle and ground. It is apparent that the fuel tank's roll over check valve is at fault.
I am an owner of a 2006 Jeep Wrangler, and my tank overflows everytime I fill up the Jeep. Even though the fuel pump clicks off when full, fuel will splash out of the fill nozzle and onto the ground. It also leaks on the vehicle.
07 Jeep Wrangler: fuel spills out of the filler neck when the tank is filled. The fuel spits back out before the fuel pump auto shut-off clicks in.
The problem started with gas shooting out of the filler neck prior to the fuel pump automatically shutting off. This was repeated at every fill up at numerous gas stations. For the past 8 months I can not fill the fuel tank without the fuel nozzle repeatedly shutting off. I can only add fuel at an extremely slow pace or not at all. It has become so bad that I now carry a gas can, it's faster to fill the can then pour it in the tank! tt.
During fueling, whenthe fuel pump nozzle automatically stops the flow of gasoline , fuel surges back through the filler tube and vigorously splashes out on the side of the vehicle and anything or person within 2 to 3 feet of the fuel filler. This occurs every time the fuel tank is filled and has drenched the person filling the vehicle from the waist down with gasoline on two occasions. Has spilled fuel on every fillup (at least one cup), despite precautions (slowing filling rate). Manufacturer and dealer have done nothing to correct this problem, this happens almost every time I fill up.
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler 4-dr 4x4. The contact stated whenever dispensing fuel close to the full level, the fuel would immediately spray out of the filler neck. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they stated that the failure was due to a faulty fuel pump nozzle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.
When refueling, when the tank is full and the fuel pump nozzle shuts off, fuel splashes out of the fill neck. This happens on each fill up.
When I try to fill my tank using the autofill option on the fuel pump handle, the fuel doesn't shut off when the tank is full and will come splashing out in force. My solution thus far is to be aware of the gallon amout as I fuel the vehicle, then when it gets fairly close, I try to trickle the fuel in so as not to splash too much fuel out on to the ground or my pants and shoes.
Fuel tank overflows when filling it with fuel on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited x. Fuel spills out when fuel pump automatically shuts off. Fuel splashes out, gets on hands, side of vehicle, and all over the ground.
2007 Jeep Wrangler sahara unlimited: gas tank overflows and literally splashes out when fuel pump clicks off at full tank.
While filling fuel tank, fuel spills out of filler neck after fuel pump shuts off.
I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, 2 door. At around 30,000 miles, I started to experience gas overflow when filling up. When the pump is left to automatically shut off, it will and then gas will flow out of the fill up tube. It has been anywhere from shooting out to just running down the side of the Jeep. I would guess at least a cup of gas. This happens at various fuel pumps and different stations. I contacted the dealer and they said they have never heard of such a thing and maybe it was the pump. I told them it had happened at several different pumps, but they would do nothing. I now have to guess when the tank is about filled and go the lowest flow setting on the pump handle. If I get this right, I don't get gas on me or all over the side of my Jeep. Never had this problem when it was new and I think this is a safety hazard that should be fixed.
When I fill the gas tank it will over flow at the filler neck. When the fuel pump cuts off there is air pressure that will force the gas out when the tank is filled. I have used different stations with the same results. This is a fire hazard.
When fueling my 2008 Jeep Wrangler (jk), and allowing the fuel pump to automatically turn off when the gas tank reaches the full level, fuel will often overflow out of the fill port. My assumption is that the pump is not turned off soon enough, leading to an overflow situation.
During fueling of a 2006 Jeep Wrangler rubicon unlimited, when the fuel pump nozzle automatically stops the flow of gasoline as the fuel tank fills, fuel surges back through the filler tube and vigorously splashes out on the side of the vehicle and anything or person within 2 to 3 feet of the fuel filler. This occurs every time the fuel tank is filled and has drenched the person filling the vehicle from the waist down with gasoline on two occasions. Has spilled fuel on every fillup (at least one cup), despite precautions (slowing filling rate). Manufacturer and dealer have done nothing to correct this problem.
Fuel overflows after every refueling for 1-2 sec then stops. Fuel pump will not stop till overflowing every time at different gas stations.
2005 Jeep Wrangler, fuel overfills every time I go to the pump. When the fuel pump auto stops about a quart of fuel shoots out of the vehicle filler tube. The fuel has splashed all over the vehicle, and my clothes. This occurs on the first auto shut-off and is not due to topping-off the tank. This is a common problem on the Jeep Wrangler and is well documented on the internet.
