1 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2014 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/31/2019

Many service lights related to evaporation leak, dealer kept resetting, and replaced gas cap and paid for countless checks each time the service light came on over the course of a year. Finally discovered fuel was leaking out of the tank, and as a result I had to replace my fuel tank, fuel filler hose, fuel transfer tube, fuel vapor tube, fuel canister purge, and fuel supply tube at a high cost. When speaking to the dealer given the car is only 5 years old, they indicated that this is a common problem with Jeep Wranglers and that in that week alone they had done 4 or 5 fuel tank replacements. During all of this my vehicle was undriveable for 2 months.

2 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/26/2018

I have had my vehicle since July 5th, 2018. On August 26th, I went to leave my home and before I started the vehicle, I noticed Jeep was leaking gas out of the rear right portion of the vehicle when sitting in my driveway. It was sitting in my parked in my driveway at the time I observed the leak. Also saw gas streaming when I removed gas cap and looked into tank. Had vehicle towed to Jeep dealer.

3 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/16/2017

For the past 5 months I've had my check engine light on. I read the code and is says "large e vap leak " I've replaced the pcv valve and the e vap charcoal canister and the check engine light is still on. I've brought it to a mechanic and they did a smoke test and everything tested out good. Showing that there were no problems and to start with the gas cap. I've spent over 100. Dollars on gas caps and I still have the problem. I have to for emissions by the end of December. I've had every recall known to man on this Jeep. I've done research and found out that it could be the gas filler neck itself. How to I go about getting a new one and will it cost me anything? I also have problems when I try and fill the tank. The gas comes flying back out if I try and fill it. Its getting out of hand and the dealership won't give me an answer. I was going to go to. Another dealership but I want to know if this will cost me? I have until December 31 to get this problem fixed or my plates will be suspended and I won't be able to get my plate sticker. What should I do?? the check engine light comes on while stationary and while driving. This started in the middle of may.

4 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/25/2016

There is fuel cap message on the dashboard. I changed the cap and the message continued. I took the rubicon to the local Jeep dealer and was told that there is problems with the fuel tank and needs to be replaced. I was told that there is a hose that goes from where the fuel gets filled to the engine and the whole tank needs to be replaced. I feel that this is a major problem and a safety hazard. The Jeep is not being driven right now due to my concern. The Jeep is only 5 years old and it only has 36k miles. This should be a manufacture replacement> I have never heard of such issues on other vehicles even after 50+ years. Please advice me ASAP on my next step. Thank you.

5 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2014 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/30/2015

When pumping gas, the fill tank will fill up and overflow, causing gas to spill out all over the vehicle. The has been going on for the last 60,000 miles. Every other Jeep model has had this fuel filter recalled, except the newer Wrangler. Gas pumping take over 10 minutes to fill overtime. When taken to the dealer, they charged me $90 to tell me the filter need replacing and would like another $89 to do so.

6 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2005 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/20/2014

Since purchase in November, this vehicle has always shot fuel out of the fuel filler when it reaches a full tank. The gas pump will shut off, but never before it has expelled fuel onto me personally, my shoes, the ground, the filler cap (which is attached to the vehicle by tether), and down the body panel below the filler. This is a serious fire and health hazard for myself and other patrons of the fuel station.

7 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/20/2013

December 2013, when temperatures reached freezing and lower, vehicle started overflowing during refueling. This occurred on every refueling occurrence that the gas pump should have shut off once the tank was full. This occurred from December 2013 until March 2014 when I was able to get the vehicle in for maintenance. The vapor canister and leak detection pump filter were replaced. December 2014, temperatures reached freezing and below; vehicle is again overflowing during all refueling when the pump should have shut off on its own. This has occurred at multiple gas stations and is not isolated to one brand of gasoline, fueling station, or state. Once the problem begins it does not stop when temperatures increase above freezing and higher. Obviously there is some kind of defect in this system, but so far Jeep/mopar has refused to acknowledge it for 2011 Jeep Wrangler unlimiteds.

8 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/31/2013

Every time I fill up my gasoline tank it overflows. Spits back and gets gas all over, down the side of my Jeep, on me, and the ground. Its dangerous and smells awful when it gets on clothes or when I have to put the cap back on and its covered in gasoline. Very frustrating problem to have.

9 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2006 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 12/15/2012

Fueling this vehicle is extremely difficult and dangerous due to the fact that no mater how slow you try to pump fuel into it it shoots back up the tank's fuel pipe and onto the ground and on you if you are not carefull. This fuel system has an obvious flaw. No vehicle should be this difficult to fuel. In 40 years of driving I have never had anything like this with any other vehicle. I won't let anyone else put fuel in this 2006 Jeep wranger because I'm afraid a serious accident could to easily occur.

The contact owns a 1994 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated the smell of fuel emitted inside of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop twice. 11 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2005 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 05/07/2010

When fueling vehicle tank overflows leaving gasoline on side of vehicle, on self (hands, clothing, shoes, etc. ). Not only is this uneconomical, but unsafe, unhealthy, and environmentally unsound. I originally brought my vehicle in for repair in may of 2010, the dealer claimed the evaporation canister was clogged so they replaced the canister and filter for almost $300. Four months later, in October of 2010, I was having the exact same problem and returned to the dealer. They then claimed the roll over valve was stuck in the open position and I now needed a new fuel tank for almost $800. I declined and was charged $100 for their trouble. I now don't ever fill the tank completely. I have found numerous complaints about this problem online in different forums and now here on this website. I do believe Jeep needs to be held responsible for this obviously ongoing problem.

12 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2005 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/14/2010

Each time I top off the tank in my 2005 Jeep Wrangler, the tank overflows and gas runs down the side of my vehicle. I am both paying for gas that is being wasted, and having to deal with the likelihood that the paint underneath my gas cap will soon be ruined.

13 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2005 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 09/19/2007

My 2005 Jeep unlimited rubicon (tj) has overflowed fuel for years. The fuel pump continues to flow until fuel has overflowed the tank and fuel pours onto the ground. Chrysler has covered this under warranty for other year Jeep Wranglers. My year is not covered and the repair is over $900. 00. I was told this is just a malfunction of a valve in the fuel filler pipe. And is caused from a poor design.
