Vehicle stationary and in motion a single ding will go off every couple of minutes, more often at slower speeds. No dash light on no indication as to why it is dinging. Also parked on hill when I put it in reverse to begin going into motion the vehicle shakes at an unsettling feeling until I get to flat ground and put it into drive.

I am seeing an issue when I drive the vehicle first time in the mornings maybe 5-7 days a week. I own a 2014 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sport (automatic transmission), with a rubicon express leveling kit, tire size 315/17 after I start the vehicle weather I leave a minute after or let it idle for several minutes it does not change anything. I leave a minute after or let it idle for several minutes most times and then I am on my way. After reaching an initial speed of 40-45 for the first mile, I slow down normally approaching the first stop (foot on brake). At this point the tachometer is down below the 1500-1000 range; the vehicle starts to shutter as if I have my foot on the gas pedal as well. Coming to a complete stop the tachometer is erratic from idle to the 1500 or so range and the vehicle is vibrating and if I don’t let off the brake the vehicle stalls. Putting it in park it starts normally does not happen again until the next day, once after work one night. The worst happened last week when I restarted and went from park to drive, it seem to stay in park as the rpms went up but did not move forward. I put it back in park and then to drive and it moved as it should. . Read more...

The 2007 Jeep Wrangler 4 door has seemed to have several complaints regarding violent shaking. This has happened to me several times where the vehicle shakes so violently it feels like you are having a tire blown out. It almost throws you off the road. I was almost in an accident on the highway. I am nervous and do not think this vehicle is safe.

I was driving on the highway, hit a bump in the road while changing lanes. The car started shaking very violently. I has to pull off the road slowing to about 40 mph in order to regain control of the vehicle and stop the shaking. When the shaking starts the entire vehicle shakes so violently it is hard to steer or even focus on the road because you are shaking too. I have had the vehicle in to Jeep dealerships on a number of occasions and they all tell me the suspension is fine. Finally this last time, after complaining of the "death shake" as I have come to research and discover, they were able to put a larger steering dampener on my vehicle than was there in order to control the shaking. I still feel vibrations at expressway speeds but it is not violent shaking anymore. This repair cost over $250.
On approximately 01/21/13 at about 8:00am, while traveling on the 405 freeway at about 50mph, my Jeep got the "death wobbles". It was found the entire front housing snapped off. It was fixed and returned to me. On 02/11/13 at about 10:30am, I was merging on to the I-5 n/b from sand canyon in irvine. When I reached 45mph, I got the "death wobbles" again. This time, the dealer said it was because I had cheap tires on the vehicle. I have nitto tires which are about $250 each. I have looked into the death wobbles and it appears Jeep has a real problem. The vehicle shakes so violently you feel like you are losing control. Someone is going to get killed and Jeep knows it. I have had my vehicle in twice now for the same thing. Once more and I am going lemon law. If they give it back and my family is injured as a result of a known flaw. Stand by! this is crap. You cannot knowingly sell a defective vehicle can you? seems like it would be criminal to defraud or fail to disclose this death wobble issue to buyers. I did not know anything about this until it happened to me.

Known to many who have Jeeps, the "death wobble". When this first happened to my daughter's car, thankfully I was the one driving. It was on the interstate and I thought a tire had blown. The steering wheel vibrated uncontrollably and I pulled over. Nothing looked wrong but I called a tow truck regardless. They looked at it at the station and could not find anything wrong. I had no idea this was a problem Jeep created when they built the vehicle. It is a situation where the front axle begins oscillating with such violence that control of the Jeep is difficult until slowed down, and the entire vehicle shakes to the point you feel it will come apart.
I purchased a 2007 four door steel blue Jeep Wrangler from a dealership in kansas. From the start, I had problems with the car shaking violently whenever would hit a bump or pothole in the road. The vehicle came with aftermarket tires and rims that were 18 inches, I purchased the vehicle like that. When I reported the problem to the dealership, I was told 1st that they could not find a problem with it. Then I was told that it could possibly be the tires, then I was told that I needed a heavy duty steering damper. I have since got the tires that originally came with the vehicle put back on them, a new heavy duty steering damper, by the dealership, the tires rotated and balanced and I still have the same issue with the Jeep, it shakes violently and uncontrollably whenever I hit a bump or pothole in the road. I have to bring my vehicle to a complete stop, no matter what speed I'm going 10 mph or 65 mph, put on my hazards and pull over if I can, before resuming driving. I only have about 22000 miles on the vehicle because it is too dangerous to drive. I even purchased a 2nd vehicle to avoid driving the Jeep. But, I am still paying on this Jeep and I should be able to drive it without fear and anxiety about a possibly collision or accident which I experience every time I'm behind the wheel. This winter, I had to drive it for about 2 months because my car was down for repairs, but since I had car fixed I have since parked the Jeep again. I need some serious help, not just for me but for other Jeep owners, if you are so inclined please check out "jk death wobble" as it is termed on the internet and youtube videos and you will know what I have experienced since 2007, and many Jeep owners as well. Thank you for your help. I experience the "death wobble" every time I drive the Jeep without fail, about 2-3 times depending on the road condition, potholes, bumps, and uneven wear.

To whom it may concern: I had purchased a 2008 Jeep Wrangler about year ago from a local dealership in prescott, arizona. About 2-3 weeks after buying it my son had come home saying the whole vehicle started shaking while he was driving down the road. We took the Jeep out on a ride and could not make the vehicle shake again. A few weeks later it happened to me, so we took it back to the dealership (tims auto in prescott. ) they had our vehicle for a few weeks, and when we went to pick it up we were told they found no problems. They had, 'taken it apart, put it back together and driven it around,' with no issues. They acted like I was making up the whole problem. Since then we have only had a few outbursts, but we just lived with it. Then, today (1-4-11) as I was driving on the highway it began to wobble a little. I was close to home, so I kept going. The Jeep started to veer into oncoming traffic, I slammed on the breaks and it started to turn the other way. I was on a four lane highway, going 65 mph with cars on either side. I was almost hit twice (both would have been caused by me) by the time I got onto the side of the road. My husband was out of town and daughter was working two towns over, I had no choice but to drive home. I got back into the car, started driving, and got about 5 miles farther before the vehicle started shaking again. I put on my emergency flashers and got to the side of the road. I called and could not get a hold of any one so I got in and drove home at about 15 mph, shaking all the way. Currently, my Jeep is in the driveway, I am up against a wall with this vehicle! repairs are not 100 percent reliable (based on past experience) and online reviews seem to say that a lot of other people are having this problem. I hope someone with your company can help me with this, because as of now I have a $35,000 deathtrap sitting outside of my home. The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. When driving over a bump in the road, the vehicle started shaking and vibrating. The wheels also moved to the left and right which caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The first time the incident occurred, he was able to stop the vehicle and drive it to the dealer. The mechanic replaced the exhaust system and a steering arm damper with an oversized one. The brake lines and transmission were also repaired. The failures recurred continuously after the repairs were made. The dealer has unsuccessfully made 15 attempts to repair the vehicle. The contact has refused to drive the vehicle due to the safety risk involved. The contact has requested that the manufacturer and the dealer allow him to return the vehicle; however, they agree that they are unable to diagnose the failure. The contact is certain that the failure is a manufacturers defect. The failure mileage was 3,000 and the current mileage was 55,000.
I have a 2003 Wrangler with a 5-speed manual transmission that suffers from intermittent problems where shifting gears is difficult if not impossible. The problem occurs most often when accelerating while shifting from 2nd to 3rd gears, and when attempting to downshift from 5th to 4th gears at highway speeds. If the vehicle does shift a grinding/banging noise is heard. I have had the local dealer look at it 4 times and they have not been able to duplicate the problem(s).
