1 Oil Pump problem of the 2017 Kia Motor Forte

Failure Date: 10/10/2022

My 2017 kia Forte has major engine problems after only 130,000 miles. The car just died on my son going down the road and after it started make loud knocking noise. There was no warning lights on at all. The engine is done for. I am the only owner of this car and have kept it maintanced well. I have realized after reading all the other people with issues that the oil pump on the car have cause engine damage and kia has replaced engines. I do believe this is what has caused my troubles.

2 Oil Pump problem of the 2017 Kia Motor Forte

Failure Date: 04/20/2021

2017 kia Forte check engine light turned on and was heading to mechanic. While driving the car completely died while driving and all warning lights came on. Oil pan flashed on so oil change was done on spot. The car drove fine then days later same issue occurred. Got car towed to a mechanic for the mechanic to tell me there were foreign particles stuck in both the oil pump and oil pan that led to engine damage now needing a new engine. Take my car to kia dealership for the recall that I seen online for possible engine failure due to faulty oil pump and kia is not honoring the recall since it has a date posted for later this year in June.

3 Oil Pump problem of the 2013 Kia Motor Forte

Failure Date: 11/30/2020

I saw that kia recalled the same year and model of this car for faulty engines which may catch fire due to engine malfunction, rod bearing failure and fuel leak but, only for the 2. 4l engine. When technically speaking the 2. 0l engine which is not recalled is nearly identical both internally and externally besides cubic inches. In fact when ordering parts for the 2. 0l engine on kia's sites and oem parts distributors, the part numbers are the same for the intake manifold, fuel delivery systems, internal bearings, the only variance in manufacturing and design are the crankshafts, camshafts and oil pumps due to the difference in displacement. Furthermore my car recently began leaking fuel from the fuel delivery tube going from the fuel pump to the rail which is the same part number as that on the 2. 4 and same design and routing. Due to the close proximity of the exhaust the fuel could have ignited if not caught just the same as the complaints about the 2. 4l which prompted the recall. However the 2. 0l owners are not protected and are at the same risk.

5 Oil Pump problem of the 2015 Kia Motor Forte

Failure Date: 01/15/2020

The car keeps cutting off while driving. Was told by the mechanic at first that it was the oil pump. Got it in the shop and they said after inspection that the oil pump is working fine, but is only pushing 1 psi of pressure into the engine. They said the engine is shot and needs to be replaced. It cuts off when we are in stop and go traffic.
