Front Air Bag Problems of Kia Motor RIO

1) the passenger "airbag off" light on my new 2010 kia Rio stays on even when someone is in the seat. This within four weeks of my purchase. 2) it occurs daily, numerous times throughout the day. 3) the kia dealer has refused to help, even though the car has 4000 miles on it. They say that it is only happening because we are sitting on it incorrectly.

Passenger air bag does not activate when an adult passenger is in the vehicle's passenger seat. Passenger air bag remains "off". Malfunction occurs on an intermittent basis.

Driver tboned another auto who failed to yield on a green left turn. Totaled kia Rio. Bumper was torn off, drive shaft on top of the Rio. No air bag deployment at moving rate of 35-40mph. Driver did not receive bad injury, but did have whiplash, mild concussion, and deep tissue trauma to knee. Kia motors will not respond via email or phone.

My daughter was driving south on hwy 360 in grand prairie texas going about 50 mph and an other vehicle was crossing the lanes toward her and hit her vehicle at the front right side (passenger side). She was wearing a seat belt and so was the passenger. The seatbelt on the passenger side did not work and airbags on neither side deployed. The passenger went forward striking the front windshield suffering head and body injuries.

I was driving my 2002 kia Rio on my lunch break going to my home. A young lady pulled out in front of me I was going around 45 when she pulled out. My car hit hers in the side neither my air bags or seat belt functioned like they should have. My air bags didn't even deploy my seat belt allowed me to go into the windshield. As my body was thrown forward the underside of the steering wheel broke my femur in 3 places. I filled a complaint against kia about the air bags and seat belt they claimed the car under rolled the other car to me the front of the car was pushed back and it was flat. Kia needs to hold up their end 2 items in the car for safety failed. Some people ask did you have your seat belt on the answer is yes I had 2 people show up at the wreck and saw it on me and it burned through 2 shirts I had on at the time of the wreck.

Air bags deployed without collision while driving.

While driving at the speed of 35mph was involved in a frontal collision, neither air bag deployed. Dealer and manufacturer have been notified. If you have any additional information feel free to add.

The passenger seat belt jammed so tight that the plastic around it shattered and pieces hit the driver. After that occurred the air bags deployed resulting in an accident. The dealer is aware of the problem.

While driving at 30/35mph and involved in a frontal collision none of the air bags deployed on impact.

The vehicle was stationary when it was rear ended at a speed of 30-35 mph and neither air bags deployed. Dealer notified. The consumer stated that before the vehicle was repaired from the first collision, tne 2nd crash occured when the left tire blew out (no tire info was given).

Rental vehicle: budget car rental, tampa, florida, vehicle was involved in a frontal collision of 35 mph, and neither air bag deployed. Consumer states that the front passenger seat belt did not work adequately, there were 2 injuries in the accident.
