The air bag warning light is on. The dealership states this means the air bag will not deploy in an accident. Kia has extended the warranty for the clock spring but the dealership refuses to fix because it has not been recalled. This is placing me and my family in danger of being seriously injured or killed if in an accident.

My air bag sensor light has been on for a little over two weeks now. I was hoping the issue would correct itself and it didn't. So I brought it to a dealer yesterday. The price they quoted for parts is 913 for an osc mat and 296 for a clock assembly part. That's over 1000, not including labor. I am very upset and confused at the cost I'm being quoted to repair the matter. Just my luck of course, the warranty covering this expired about 2 mos ago, per the dealer. I really would like some feedback from the manufacturer on why the cost is so high, considering the current value of the vehicle as a whole. It's not reasonable and not economical if I have to pay for a similar issue in the future. The light stays on after I start my vehicle; typically it should flash on for a few sec immediately after starting and then turn off; but the light never turns off; the issue hasn't seemed to affect my driving; but it does concern me if I don't pay to correct the matter that the airbag may not deploy during a wreck or conversely it may deploy at a wrong time, causing unnecessary damage.

Air bag light on instrument panel illuminated over night. (vehicle was stationary) rejection inspection sticker because of air bag light. Kia dealership says that the "passenger pressance module" is messed up and is causing air bag light to come on. Vehicle has never been wrecked, air bags have never deployed. Concern; over 72,000 '06- '08 kia Rios have been recalled for the exact same thing. But mine wasn't? and now my local dealership wants thousands of dollars to fix something that I feel like needs to be investigated.
Was side swiped on driver side the curtain airbags never deployed and the aluminum wheels shattered.

My son was involved in an accident where he rear ended the car in front of him at approximately 35 to 40 mph. The airbag in the steering wheel did not deploy!! luckily he was wearing his seat belt and suffered bruising on his hip and shoulder. I would like to know why the airbags did not deploy. I have viewed other reports online that reported the same thing where the bags did not deploy.

I was waiting behind someone at a complete stop for them to make a left hand turn and someone crashed into the back of me and smashed me into the person in front of me. The person admit he did. Not see us stopped and hit me at about 45 to 50 mph and my airbags did not deploy I would think they should have at how hard I was hit and how hard the car forced me into the car in front of me . I was diagnosed with double whiplash and several torn. Muscles in my chest and shoulders a bruise the size of a softball on my right hip from the seat belt and a burn on my left elbow from how hard it hit my door both the palms of my hands were bruised and I could barely walk for 2 days from soreness and have been seeing a chiropractor for 5 months now my car was totalled.
We were involved in an accident where we rear ended another vehicle. The other car was at a standstill and we hit them at about 30 mphs. The driver and myself both had seat belts. The driver injuries her left knee. The airbags did not deploy. I think that if they did her knee might not have been injured because she would not have slid forward upon impact. .
I was in collision on 3/28. I hit another car from the back. The airbags did not deploy. I hit my head on the steering wheel. I had my seat belt on. I was sent to the hospital via ambulance. The car was a total loss. Updated 07/16/14.
I was driving down the road in my 2006 kia Rio. ( never been in any auto accident or had front end damage) when my airbag light came on and stayed on. As to this complaint. Kia stated it is approximately $ 400. 00 to $ 800. 00 dollars out of consumers pockets to fix. I feel kia corp. Should cover this part since its a safety issue. Or airbags will not deploy and there is another case like gm . Let's get on this major issue and recall all kia s. Thanks pk.
I was driving approximately 60 mph and another vehicle merged into my lane. I was unable to avoid the vehicle but turned to the right and hit their rear end with my front passenger side. I was wearing my seatbelt but my face hit the steering wheel and my knee jammed under the wheel. The impact knocked my car into neutral but no air bags deployed. The emts who responded to the accident were very surprised the air bags did not deploy and said they thought they should have. The car was bought new from the dealership in 2007 and had never been wrecked, so I don't see any reason why the air bags should have been defective.
I have driver/passenger and side airbags. I was blindsided by a Dodge dakota on the passenger side. Her vehicle slammed both of my doors on the passenger side so badly neither one would open and my daughter had to climb out of my side. One was directly at the side airbag, my car was totaled to say the least as it had multiple damage to it. What should I do about the airbags not deploying?.

On February 19, 2013 I was in a collision I hit the car from behind and totaled the front end of my car none of the airbags deployed leaving me with neck and back injuries. I want to know why they didn't deploy and why isn't or wasn't there a recall because this is not the first reported incident of no deployment of airbags. My car is 2 years old and this is the first collision that I have ever had and for the airbags to have not deployed leaves me with a lot of concerns. My father is actually having me consider a lawsuit due to the airbags not deploying. Im hoping this will help someone else because my wreck was pretty serious and I also had my kids in the car with me at the time.
Air bags did not deploy till vehicle was rolled over.
We ran into a telephone poll at about 25 miles an hour and the air bags did not deploy and seat belts did not look, passenger hit the windshield with head and driver hit his chest into the steering wheel and hurt chest.

Engine light came on and obd scan indicated "front passenger airbag sensor" failed. Dealership wants $800 bucks plus to replace this sensor. Without it airbag will not deploy for front passenger. Have researched it and others have indicated it just goes out again. I will not pay this!!!!.
