The vehicle was not repaired due to the dealer not diagnosing the aftermarket dorman crankshaft position sensor that was defective and caused the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the crankshaft position sensor was not a kia part and did not offer any further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 165,000.

After I experienced the latch problem that front hood flipped while driving on highway, the engine e locked up. Brought it to insurance mechanic, fixed hood and engine. Drove out from their in 5 minutes, the engine stalled on highway again. Never been able to start up. Mechanic wanted to take it as a new case, not as an existing claim. So we just towed the car back home.

Engine stalling. . . . Completely stopped. . . Loss of power during city driving. Dealer not able to find problem. Had van towed. Air bag sensor will not shut off. Several dealers have tried to solve problem but cannot and van is unsafe and risky to drive.
