1 Steering Pinion Shaft problem of the 2005 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 03/06/2009

The contact owns a 2005 kia Sedona. While driving approximately 35 mph or less on normal road conditions, the contact exerted much effort to make a left turn. The vehicle steered in one direction. The failure occurred without warning. The contact had to make several attempts to maneuver the steering wheel before it resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and they stated that the failure was possibly related to the rack and pinion. The failure occurred on two separate occasions. Recently, the steering wheel locked up while the vehicle was in operation. There were no juries. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The authorized dealer was notified of the failures and stated that they were contributed to the intermittent joint shaft, which was a common defect. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 82,000 and current mileage was 83,000.
