Engine Cooling System Problems of Kia Motor Sephia

While driving, the battery light came on and the engine began to run hot. The cooling system rocketed to high after the battery light illuminated. The engine went dead in the middle of the freeway. The car was towed to a dealership. The dealer informed the consumer they would not be able to check the vehicle until after July 11th. The consumer did not know what exactly the dealerships diagnosis was because they have yet to check vehicle. Consumer suspected this was a cooling system issue with battery problems as well.

Engine will continueously overheat when traveling long distances. Contacted dealer, and dealer cannot find cause.

While driving engine compartment caught on fire . Dealer will replace fuel injection harness/ cooling system, and various other parts.

The problems I am having or have had with this car are as follows, cooling system has completly froze up, water leak into the front passenger side under dash, molding around the doors replaced, 4 transmissions replaced, warped rotors which have also worn the brake pads. And I just recieved a recall notice for the on board refueling vapor recovery valves, which I am hoping will stop the gas from pouring out of the car onto me when I am refueling. This car is not road worthy. I have been in contact with the manufacturer and dealer they both just point the finger at one another, when I purchased this vehicle I expected it to run.

Water pump replaced. Cj.

Engine check light would stay on, vehicle overheated & overdrive would blink on/off. Ground wire was suppose to be fixed,but vehicle caught on fire. Vehicle was totalled. Manufacturer said they couldn't do anything, filed a lawsuit. Warranty was not up on vehicle.

Consumer states a cloud of smoke began to rise from the hood of the vehicle, consumer pulled over and noticed that the anti-freeze was leaking when the vehicle was turned off, it was also during the incident that the engine overheated, mechanic replaced the cooling fan relay and fuse and resecured wiring connections, consumer states on a separate occasion the malfunction indicator light began to flash, in which the vehicle would slow down and then speed up, the vehicle felt as though it was going to loose power even as it struggled to reach 50 mph, vehicle began to back fire and a loud rattling noise from the engine, which forced consumer to have vehicle towed.

During heavy rain a 5-6" pipe 1/2'diameter came off the engine block - by radiator water house assembly. The pipe has no attachment points except that it is inserted into a hole at the engine cylinder head-on the other end is connected to 3/4 hose to underdash heater. When broke all coolant came out within 1-2 minutes - huge steam cloud obscured driver's visibility, driver had to pull over and drove slowly into a neighborhood. Will notify dealer tomorrow.

Vehicle overheated. Also, rear doors were stuck.

July of 1999 had problems with engine cooling system. Car kept overheating. Put it in the shop for repairs which cost $400. 00. Had it out about one week had more problems with the same. In October was driving home and the car went completely out with no warning lights or any indication anything was wrong. When checked the engine had completely frozen up. It had overheated again but no warning lights came on nor did the heat guage move to indicate it was hot. As I am a college student and work only part time I am now stuck making payments on a car I cannot afford to fix and bumming rides.

Electric cooling fan blew fuse - causing car to overheat while it was parked - dealer replaced fan stating that it appeared to have water damage - ??????.

Consumer stated vechicle was defected when she purchased it on Sep 11 1999 . Consumer took it back on Sep 13 1999 because she has been having problems, such as transmission fluid leaking out from underneath her vechicle. Also, brakes not working properly when applying brakes. Pedals went allthe down to the floor. Also vechicle overheated. Also, front grill /windshield wipers and gas gauge had to b ereplaced, and I still don't work . At this time the consumer has registered a complaint with the lemon law. Her car is at the dealership waiting for a part.

Engine coolant leaking, replaced bypass pipe assembly.

Ongoing problem with excessive heat coming inside the vehicle. Also, when applying the brakes a clicking noise would appear from the front wheels. Provide further details.

Has been in 17 times and still need brakes and everything else. What a piece of junk !!manufactor refuses to honor warranty.

Coolant over flow bottle broke resulting in a leak.

Sliding door keeps ajar, and overhead light come son. Brakes are squealing and the car shakes badly if I go 65 miles per hour. I noticed that when it is raining that the car makes a terrible buzzing sound. I ahve had an exhaust leak and the brakes replaced already once and the fuel pump was replaced but I am still having problems with it.

While driving 35 mph the vehicle overheated, causing the vehicle to completely shut down, cause unknown. Please give any further details.
