Car never has had engine issues and gets regular, routine maintenance. I had my oil changed three weeks ago as I do every few thousand miles. I was driving the other day and the engine started to sieze. The oil pressure light came on while driving. There was no oil in the car. Car was towed to mechanic and no cracks/leaks were found. There is a safety recall currently for the engine bearings being prematurely worn causing engine to malfunction and sieze. My VIN was not listed under this recall, however, the mechanic suggested it is an internal/engine problem, thus quite likely due to these worn bearings in the engine.

My engine started knocking when I got off the highway and stopped to make a left turn. I got to work and waited a few hours then checked the oil. I found the oil was low and added more, I turned the vehicle on and still heard the knocking. I have been having a lot of issues with keeping oil in my vehicle, there are no leaks, drips or anything on the ground. I have noticed water like liquid dripping from around the exhaust just rear of the oil pan and frame and my rpms drop when from about 800 to less the 500 when stationary. I keep up with all the oil changes with the kia dealership in my town, did what recalls were requested by kia. My vehicle has approximately 143,800 miles. I checked for any recalls and found my VIN number was unrelated to any.
My 2012 kia Sorento keeps going though oil it's not burning it and it's not leaking so what happening to it ?.
At approximately 120k miles, we randomly checked the oil prior to taking a road trip and noted the dip stick was dry. The car was down several quarts of oil. No oil light ever came on. Since then the car has been evaluated by more than one mechanic with no leaks found. The car has had routine maintenance as recommended since it was purchased. It requires a quart of oil about every 500-700 miles.
Suddenly at 95000 miles engine started to use oil but it's not burning it or any leaking from engine. I have to check oil weekly and will need a quart ever 800 to 1000 miles. After reading many posts on this subject all are having the exact same issues as we are. Kia will not take ownership for this problem and terrible engine design. They need to be held responsible for this issue.
Takata recall: I purchased my call Feb. 11, 2017 and starting may I started having all kind of electrical problems. Fused kept blowing open every other day. Now fast forward to 2018 I go in for an oil change and find that my engine is leaking oil. The mechanic tells me that I need to replace the engine ASAP. My car has been parked for the passed two weeks.
After just having a faulty starter replaced on this car (which they charged us over $800 to do, and they refuse to pay for it, even though it is their issue), we started to notice the oil light would go on and off while stopping. We then noticed oil leaking, contacted kia, after we looked up the issue we see this was a known issue with the oil pressure sensor leaking, which a recall was issued for canada but not u. S. (even though they come from the same plant). They charged us over $300 to do, they will not pay for it. They refuse to assist us with any issue.
My main rear seals of my engine began to leak oil.
Engine failure engine stopped in middle of highway traveling at 55 mph straight highwayput family in danger 2016 June oil leaking all over ground and electrical failure pushed car to side of highway . 140000 mile past warranty kia refuse to fix.
Vehicle began leaking oil, oil light came on. Refilled with oil to try and find the leak without success. Mechanic found a bad oil pressure switch. The oil pooled up in a valley in the engine. This valley had a manufactured hole in the top of it and that's were the oil was dumping out onto the ground. Made it appear that it was a rear main seal leak.
