Since I purchased my 2013 kia Sorento I have had at least 3 recalls. My vehicle air bag light is still on. I have been waiting since last year (2023)to get this recall item repaired and the local dealership has informed me that the part is on order but never received( I have the work order from dealership stating that). . My anti- thief system won't allow my vehicle to start upon demand I have to wait and turn the key over and let panel lights come on before it starts I have to do this 3x always. I've tried different approach's to rectify this issue, still dealing with it today( March 1, 2024). My speed control sensors had too be replaced. Abs lights would come on and stay illuminated. A lot is going on with my kia Sorento. I really enjoy my vehicle until all these recalls started. Now, I'm afraid to drive it as much, due too this fire recall!!!!!! I have documentation of these recalls.

My airbag light is just on, I have not been in any accidents or my vehicle has not been hit for the airbag light to be on. My check engine light is on as well. And back wind shield washer fluid is not coming out. When I noticed these issues my car was stationary.

The passenger airbag light came on for no reason. I got the code pulled at a local shop for free thankfully. The code was b1764 OCS mat defect. Now because it failed for no reason I have no airbags at all. From other people's complaints it can cost $1,000 to $3,000 to fix. Awesome. I really loved my sorrento too.
Cluster lights turned off while driving air bag light stays on.

A month ago while driving home from a day of shopping and the drivers side air bag light came on. I checked the wires underneath the drivers seat to make sure everything was still connected the light stays on. The engine light came on just yesterday 12. 5. 2020. Stays on will not shut off. I checked the gas cap to make sure it was tight then went to auto zone so they could use their dtc. (the clerk put an estimate of miles on my paperwork as he did not go outside to get actual milage. )the code was obd2. I was due for a oil change and transmission flush. I got those repaired but still have issues with the light. The paperwork states error code read p0014 exhaust camshaft position timing over advanced bank 1 indicates that the bank 1 exhaust camshaft position timing was advanced beyond limits for a predetermined. Of time. The only thing I noticed was that I didn't even have the heat on and there was nice amount of heat coming through the vents but the heat dial was on the off position. The instrument panel.
The air bag light is on and steady. Mechanic has informed me that steering wheel air bag has a problem and none of the air bags will deploy if there is an accident. I see there are other complaints about same problem. Why have these complaints not resulted in a recall?.
The air bag light turned on with our any reason. Car won't acelerate, stop and get speed in unsafe wait on the highway.
Air bag light stays on after battery replacement. Dealer wants over 1200. 00 to repair.
Airbag light came on today while driving on the highway (roughly70mph), will not shut off, vehicle not under recall for airbags at this time. Headlights and taillights randomly come on and off, even with brand new bulbs, have changed bulbs almost monthly in last 3 years. Buttons on steering wheel do not work properly - including cruise control not working, volume button starts voice command, etc.
Our kia sorrento has the metal shavings in the oil passage which has caused the entire engine to fail at $50k miles. There is a kia recall for this issue; however, kia is refusing to cover the cost because our vehicle VIN is not part of the specific recall. The estimated cost for repair is $8k, plus our out of pocket costs for renting a call. We also had issues with the car that required air conditioner repair and replacement of the entire center console, but are not sure if they are related to the manufacturing defect at issue currently. In addition, we received a letter saying our airbag indicator is faulty but a recall is not coming up for this item.

I was just driving down the road and made right turn and airbag light came on and turn of and came back on and stay on want go off.
Driver side airbag light remains on, passenger side seems operational. In motion on highway, during the same trip interior lights, except manual push lights and dashboard, do not automatically turn on.
I purchased a kia Sorento on July 21 2020 after test driving the vehicle the air bag light popped on the sales man took it to one of their on site employees and they hooked up the code device no codes appeared so he suggested its just a sensor problem and told me it shouldn't be much take it to a kia dealership. I did in which couldn't get in to see the service department until today in which I had to pay out of pocket for a diagnostic test and they found that the ods mat was faulty. I told the service guy that the car lot took the seats out to clean the SUV for sale and he told me they damaged or broke the ods mat. I contacted the seller and stronger expressed my feeling about my vehicle is no longer safe to drive and the only thing he said to me is my payment due August 31 today is the 10th and this replacement will be over 2300 that I can't afford and the vehicle is no longer safe for me and my daughter. I really feel they knew it was a problem with the air bag and just tried to make a sale saying it was a sensor issue that kia will have to reset.
In may. My airbag light came on and won't go off. I'm not sure if the airbags are defective or not, but I'm scared to drive around with the light on. Then on July 16,2020, my vehicle started cutting off on my in the midst of moving traffic. I have to throw my hazard lights on and coast to a safe place to let the truck sit. It's cut off about 7 times now with my 3 kids in the car.
Over a period of a month on multiple occasions during normal driving on highway and city streets, the engine lost power while driving, only allowing enough drive ability at significantly reduced power and speed to pull over. In each of those instances, the power was restored to normal after a small period of rest. An overlapping condition existed during that same period, in which all power was lost to the engine and power steering, as the engine completely shut down while driving under normal circumstances. In each of those cases, the engine would not turn over until after a period of rest of at least 20 minutes. There was never an engine warning to indicate an issue. The car was serviced and assessed by certified mechanics, but no problem was detected. During one such inspection with aamco of redlands, California, the car lost power during their final test drive following a rigorous inspection in which no issue was identified, and never regained power again. It was determined that the engine had ceased with 141,335 miles on the odometer. Another issue revolved around an electrical issue with the driver side headlamp and turn signal. It ceased to work while within the 100,000 mile warranty and was fixed without cost. However, it continued to fail afterwards and was fixed multiple times at personal expense. The airbag light has also been on for half the life of the car, and is still on at this time, but the dealer refused to acknowledge it was a warranty issue despite a recall on that light. They claimed that the light was tripped due to some empty soda cans they discovered under the chair and which were probably rolling around according to their opinion. They stated that the tripped airbag light had nothing to do with the recall.
After driving the car approximately 25 highway mi. Airbag indication light illuminated on dash, while car was in motion, and would not go out. After arriving at destination and parking and shutting off car, restarted engine again stationary, airbag indication light illuminated on dash until seatbelt indication finished flashing, then turned off only to re-illuminate after a couple seconds and stay light. Shut off car, removed airbag fuse (15a) and restarted vehicle stationary, resulted in indication remaining illuminated the entire time after starting car (instead of shutting off and coming back on after seatbelt indicator shut off). Shut off car, replaced airbag fuse (15a) and restarted vehicle, resulted in indication light illuminated on dash until seatbelt indication finished flashing, then turned off only to re-illuminate after a couple seconds and stay light. Additional info: car has 130k miles, but engine was replaced at ~115k under warranty, so engine is only ~15k old.
Air bag light came on for no reason and will not shut off. I did troubleshoot according to the manual that came with my vehicle. The light still did not shut off. My guess is that it has malfunctioned. Looking on line other people with the same year kia are having the same problem. Vehicle was stationary when it came on as well as when I was driving on the highway and city streets.
I was driving one day on the highway and the airbag light came on for no reason. I waited a few days to see if the indicator light would go out and it didnt. I am afraid if I get into an accident the airbags won't function properly.
The air bag light was staying on so I took the vehicle to dealer. The diagnosed it as the passenger seat air bag was defective. It will cost me almost $800 to repair. Should this be a manufacturer issue and be replaced at no cost? if I don't repair it, it could be dangerous.

I've only had my 2014 kia Sorento for a year, from 2020-2021. I've noticed these problems in the beginning and assumed they would work itself out because the dealer mentioned that the conditions were minor but they only progressed. I'm putting oil in this vehicle every three to four days because the oil stick is clean ( indicating no oil). The engine light has always been on. I've taken it to several mechanics, including the mechanic that works directly with the dealership in which I purchased this vehicle. The engine light will come back and whenever it started to blink it would cause my vehicle to jerk excessively and forcefully while driving on the interstate and main highways each time causing the speed to decrease . Same thing with the airbag indicator light, it's always been on and I was told to ignore it. And the driver seat does not move, I was told a simple small green fuse (30) would fix that and I purchased several and each time the mechanic would insert one of the fuses, you could hear a pop. I was told not to touch it or it could start a fire (the fuse box area). As of today (April 20, 2021) my 2014 kia Sorento still have these dangerous issues. Very dangerous and something is definitely not right under the hood.
Drive side airbag light came on and now steering controls are not working. Kia dealer stated its the air bag control module that is faulty.
My air bag light are on all the time when I start up my engine and my vehicle hasn't been in an accident and I was wondering is that normal? I've have gotten my inspection and everything passed.
My abs, airbag light is on before. After replacing the clock spring the lights are still on, and also both my back seat belts will not go down. The car has not been in any accidents.
Airbag light for passenger is on. Also the back right passenger door won't open from the outside or inside. Door not locked and child lock is off.
The airbag light is shows up on the board of the car need to know was going on with the car.

The airbag light will not go off whenever the ignition is on and vehicle is running.
The airbag light came on when the vehicle was in motion. When able to safely pull over to the a parking lot the vehicle was shut off and turned back on. The light stayed on.
The air bag light in the instrument panel is on. According to universtiy Ford/kia dealership in durham nc the airbag sensor is bad in the passenger seat. The estimated repair is approximately $2200. 00. This vehicle has 142,000 miles and I think kia should pay for this. To repair will require a new seat. According to kia service the airbags no longer will function or may be activated prematurely.
My airbag light has been going on/off for a few months now, and I have contacted several kia dealerships that have told me my car is not a part of an airbag recall, and if I want it fixed, I will have to come out of pocket to the time of about $2,000 to get this fixed. The dealerships I called, and 1 I went to in-person, told me that anything related to the airbag light is not under any type of warranty anymore, even though my car is only 5 years old. This is a safety issue, pure and simple, and is a mechanical failure that I should not be responsible for. I believe kia is hiding something here, and I just cannot magically come up with $2k to fix this. I've seen many other complaints about other years of the Sorento, and I am not happy the manufacturer is not willing to realize the issue here. Very disappointed on how this has materialized, and will try one last time later this week at the kia dealership local to me. This car has driven great, and have had no other issues, but this is a significant issue to say the least.
Electrical failure of passanger side dash airbag. From dealership inspection: airbag light illuminated. Scanned codes returned code b1764 OCS mat defect, performed test on body sensor and found no voltage going to OCS mat and srscm module, will need to replace module and mat. Total $3,058. further conversation with techanican: no physical damage, likely faulty wires or failed electrical component. Unfortunately, only option to replace the passanger module. Unclear if airbag will still operation is colission. Owner opinion: if airbag assembly is failing in this manner, it should be recalled. Otherwise, passangers are at risk. Year: 2013 model: kia Sorento mileage: 120548.
The airbag light is on and the steering wheel controls for volume and bluetooth do not work.
Vehicle with just over 88000 miles airbag light came on dealer says will be anywhere from 1500 to 2600 dollars to find and replace issue. Other sorrento owners complaining online about same issue. On initial start for the day airbag light came on and wont go out.
Received extended warranty information regarding my airbag light brought this in to have the clock assembly spring reviewed and it was replaced but then was told I had to pay $2000 to have the passenger seat change to have the sensor go off.
