Steering wheel is hard to turn left / right, it feels like its stuck and will not release free ,then you have to pull it back . Its scares me on the highway. I took it to the dealer and they didn't find anything wrong. This feeling goes on and off.

Steering is sticky, forcing driver to rotate steering wheel in an exaggerated way to correct the issue. Door handle cover on passenger rear side broke within 6 months of owning the car.
My 2016 ex turbo sorrento has a steering issue. The steering feels like it sticks or hesitates. The feeling is difficult to describe as it is not like any steering I have experienced before . It is as though something mechanical in the lower part of the assembly is hesitating or slightly jerking and not giving the correct feedback and not accepting the drivers input correctly . I know there are both electrical and mechanical systems involved in the steering and something between them is not working correctly. There are certain driving conditions when this is no doubt a safety issue , like in the rain when you are not getting the correct feedback from the steering and are are driving between 2 semi trucks at 70 mph. This issue needs to be a safety recall and fixed before there are people injured or worse from the effects of this defect. I have taken this to a kia dealer and they said the drove it and did not feel a problem. I have reported it to kia consumer affairs before the car was out of warranty and again now that it is out of warranty . This issue can be felt when driving or when stationary . To be clear , the driver has to constantly make small adjustments to keep the car driving in a straight line , and when making these adjustments the steering feels sticky so it requires extra force to move. I would like to add that other than the described steering issue this vehicle has been excellent in every way and very dependable .

Steering felt sticking while driveling on the highway took it in been told it's the steering column. . This is the second issues I have had with my steering 6mths apart. Last time I was told it was something in the drive train an was covered by warranty an the part was going to be replaced but when I took my car in for the sec issue I was told they only did a soft wear update but its also calling for another software update.

Steering has a "sticky" feeling when driving no matter the speed. The steering wheel feels hard to pull in either right or left direction. This happens during city driving as well as highway driving. Creates constant over correction, which has led to veering into another lane. This "sticky" feeling does not occur when the steering wheel is already in a turning or turned position.
Steering is sticking at highway speeds. Sticking is slight but requires constant overcorrection to get it to unstick. Usually occurs on long, straight stretches of driving. Issue is intermittent and dealer cannot replicate, of course.
Steering is sticking both right and left, can feel it when driving low speed and higher speed on any road city or highway, took to dealer they did a 4 wheel alignment, still doing the same thing.
While driving the car on any road (city or highway) it wants to drift to the side and when you go to correct the steering it feels sticky, for lack of better words, and there is a delay in the response. So I end up over correcting, and I'm all over the road. This car is so unsafe as it is right now. I've taken my car into the dealership twice, called consumer advisors for kia, has a tech go for a test drive, and spoke to the service manager. While they can verify there's an issue, they can't do anything to fix it.
I was driving down the highway and all the sudden my car gave a big sound and died. The steering was really hard to steer, luckly I was in the slow lane and coasted off the edge of the road. Had it towed to mechanic the started was bad, along with the fuel line and fuel pump. After got it running once again ran fine hour later the crank shaft sensor went out. I have read many many complaints about the same issues, also was told that my fuel tank and bottom was rusting out. And my sway bar is bad. My car shakes, I have had new tires and brakes put on and a new muffler put on. I have had all my oil changes and tune ups. They say there is no recalls, how could there not be recalls here in the USA. They had a class action law suit in canada and kia was made to fix these same issues.
