Front Air Bag Problems of Kia Motor Spectra

When my wife sits in the passenger seat, the air bag activation system does not activate approximately 50% of the time. This is a serious safety issue since she would have no air bag deployment in the event of an accident. There should be some way for me to activate the system when she is a passenger.

Passenger seat does not always sense there is a passenger setting in the seat. The dealer replaced the passenger seat once and it did work ok for about two months they now refuse to work on it till they see proof of it not working. They claim company policy will not allow them to work on it. I feel they are putting my passengers in the way of harm and could be liable for injury or death.

I was driving a kia Spectra that was rented from enterprise rental car. A car ran a stop sign in the rain and I hit the car. The cars collided at a 90 degree angle, with the front bumper of the kia hitting the right front wheel of the Subaru outback. I was going about 25 miles per hour. The accident caused the bumper of the kia to be broken and pushed in all along the front of the car and it buckled the hood of the car. The right front wheel of the Subaru collapsed inward towards the car and the car spun about 90 degrees on impact. My main concern is that the airbag in the kia did not go off, and it seems that at 25 mph a direct hit on the bumper should make it. I am turning the car back into enterprise, and they can look into the airbag repair.

The contact owns a 2006 kia Spectra. While driving 70 mph, the contact crashed into a rock. Only the passenger front air bag deployed. The vehicle was towed to an auto body shop and the crash was reported to her insurance agency. The contact sustained minor bruises and cuts. The failure and current mileages were 70,000. I had no indication that my seat belt or airbag were faulty. While driving at 40 mph I struck a car that turned left directly in front of me. My seat belt failed to lock and I was lifted out of the seat and hit my head, shoulder, and hip on the left side of my car. The airbag did not inflate. The insurance adjuster could not believe that the airbag didn't inflate considering the force of the impact.

Consumer stated that there was a loss of steering control, and when she tried to steer the car to the right it continued to go to the left. Approximately four hours prior to this there was a grinding noise with vibration in the steering wheel. The car went in to a guard rail on southbound 14 freeway in palmdale, CA. She notified the manufacturer. A recall was issued for this problem, but this vehicle was not included. Only the passenger carriage of the vehicle remained. . When the car hit the guard rail, it was thrown to the other side of the freeway, then hit the other guard rail. Upon impact, none of the airbags deployed. Consumer sustained a concussion and bruises. There was also a police report.

On an impact with another vehicle on the front end of this new car at approximately 40 miles and hour, the air bag on the drivers side failed to deploy.

Vehicle hit a guardrail at 65 mph, and neither airbag deployed. Driver suffered minor injuries. Vehicle was totalled.

Vehicle hit a deer and neither airbag deployed. Consumer hit head on steering wheel and windshield, sustaining neck/back and knee injuries. As tow truck hooked vehicle up, both airbags deployed. Damage to vehicle was $ 8000.

While driving at 15 mph when vehicle was struck on right front side, and none of frontal air bags deployed.

Consumer was traveling about 40mph and another vehicle jumped in front of consumer's vehicle. She hit other vehicle on the side, and dual airbags didn't deploy. There were injuries.
