Problem occured when smoke coming from under the dash. Flames shot out from under dash. No warning prior. A burning smell was coming from vehicle prior to flames. It was an electrical fire. The dealer reports it may be a problem with the ignition switch. The car was pulled, a person helped by trying to put out fire with a small fire extinguisher, then owner went inside a building and got antoher fire extinguisher. The fire was out by the time the fire dept. Arrived. The battery was disconnected. Fire department reported that it was an electrical fire from an unkown source. Driver experienced smoke inhalation but wouldnt go to hospital. And was burned on fingers trying to put it out.

The truck would not start at times and kept blowing fuses. . Dealer found problem to be in the engine harness connector. Also in 10/03, one night while I was driving home from work late, my truck stulled on me, and the shifter was very loose, took to dealer and they replaced the drive shaft and rear main seal (x3). They have also replaced the cat. Convertor x3, timing belt due to abnormal streching,and 2 ignition coils.

Vehicle was not starting when ignition was turned. Consumer took vehicle to a dealership that determined that battery needed to be replaced. No reason was given to consumer for cause of this defect. Ongoing problem with engine stalling from a stop position and unable to restart when this occurs. Vehicle been in dealer shop on three occasions, and problem still reoccurring. Key would intermittently lock up into ignition switch, and unable to remove it. Also, been in dealer shop on three occasions, and probelm still reoccurring. Feel free to provide any further details on this matter.
When parking vehicle and pulling out the key noticed that key was very hot. Glove compartment was also very hot. There was a noise in the steering wheel. When trying to turn. Consumer took car to dealer, and dealer said that there was something in steering column thatwas wrong. There was too much play in steering.
