Takata recall/no Lexus remedy available due to the fact that Lexus had no plan in place to handle the air bag recall and I did not want to be behind the wheel of a ticking time bomb, I felt that it was in my best interest to trade in/sell my Lexus. I ended up trading my Lexus instead of selling it because I had to inform any perspective buyer of the pending recall and what it entailed. I ended up trading for a 2014 Toyota camry se and in doing so cost myself approximately $2000. 00 to $2500. 00 because I did not get the true value for the trade in which was listed between $18,000 - $18,500 in all of the recognized appraisal companies I checked and had to settle for a $16,000. 00 trade in value due to the recall notice still affecting my Lexus. Nhtsa recall number 17v006 recall date: January 9, 2017 manufacturer recall number: g2g remedy: Lexus is currently preparing the remedy for this condition and will provide additional information as it becomes available. The remedy, when available, will consist of the replacement of the airbag inflator or the airbag assembly, depending on the vehicle model. Recall status: recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available.

Takata inflators: I was involved in a serious accident on 05/25/2017. The veh I was in was a 2008 Lexus ES 350. The airbags deployed but failed to inflate. As a result I have to undergo surgery due to severe injuries sustained in the accident. Both the side and front airbags appeared to be just some white sheets that popped out. The notification of the recall on the vehicle's airbags was received about almost 2 months after the car accident. By then the incident had already occurred and the damage was done. Very unfortunate situation. This took place in miami, florida, on kendall drive. The Lexus was at a standstill facing north in the middle median awaiting the make a left turn to be able to head west and turn into the west bound lanes. The opposite party that struck the Lexus was heading east in the 2nd to 3rd lane heading east bound. The other party then proceeded to swerve into the middle and failed to slow down then struck the Lexus's rear driver's side corner panel. The Lexus spun out and ended up facing south within the middle median. Both vehicles the Lexus and the other party's veh were both insured by geico at the time of the incident and geico declared dual comparative negligence.
Takata inflators no remedy one year later!!!.
Takata recall my dealer states that, as of today 3/29/2017, they have not received the replacement parts for Es350 models. I have not had an incident but I am very concerned about the long delay in correcting the problem, and live in California where the degredation of the inflators is most likely due to climate conditions.

Takata recall . . . After receiving the 'interim notice' February 8th 2017 I checked at the dayton Lexus dealer manager of service today ( Mar 22,2017) and was told the replacement inflator will not be available for my Es350 until September 2017 making my vehicle useless for seven to eight months!! . This is totally unacceptable . Their claim as the service oriented company is a sham.

Takata recall: I received a letter from Lexus in February 2017 indicating a recall on the takata inflators. The letter states that until a remedy becomes available that no occupant be in the front passenger seat. It further states that I will be notified when the remedy becomes available. This remedy is not practical as it is our only vehicle and impossible for us to get around without a passenger in the front seat. I am very surprised to hear that this is the recommended solution. When do you expect to have the solution and can the fix be prioritized so that I am closer to the top of the list?.

Non-use of the passenger front seat is not an option for me and my family. I was informed that no loaner or replacement vehicle would be offered until parts are available . "takata recall". On July 10, 2016 I received a recall in the mail from Lexus (torrance, CA) about the takata front passenger airbag inflator. The recall notice goes on to say "until the remedy becomes available, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat". I am writing these comments on December 29, 2016. So it's been 5 months since I've received the recall notice. I've been in contact with my local Lexus dealer and well as Lexus in torrance , CA and neither one can give my any time table on when the repairs can be made. My wife refuses to sit in the rear seat of the car because it is not as comfortable as the passenger front seat, nor is the rear seat heated (which is one of the main reasons she likes the car -- she has back pain problems). So what I now have is a car that cost me $41,000 (cash) that I can hardly use. I feel there should be some compensation for this inconvenience, but conversations with the local Lexus dealership as well as Lexus, torrance, CA have been extremely unsuccessful. I should add that over the past few years, I have purchased from Lexus/toyata 5 brand new cars. I did this as a private citizen, not as a business purchase.
"takata recall" - Lexus has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time. They have known about this for months and sent a letter in July saying "in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, striking the vehicle occupants, and result in serious injury or death. " the local dealer has no idea when the replacement of the airbag inflator or the airbag assembly will be available. Until the replacement is made, the car cannot be driven with someone in the passenger seat. This creates a huge hardship and greatly reduces the ability to use the car. Since Lexus has know about this for a long time, it is unacceptable to not promptly remedy the defect or even give a time range when the remedy might be completed.
"takata recall" receive notice of recall for airbag inflator defect on passenger side of vehicle about 8 or 10 months ago. Still waiting for replacement part and it's exceeding way beyond time is should have be remedied. Received second notice on April 21, 2017. Spoke to sales person on April 25, 2017 an was told that part is not in and they are waiting on the parts from manufactured. My father in law drives a Honda and had a recall on the same part from "takata" but received his part within a month or two. Not this was eight months ago. Now I'm still waiting and not having any of my family ride in the passenger seat because of the danger it imposes. It seems nothing but notice are being give with no resolution being done. Its becoming extremely frustrating. Since I cannnot drive my car with my family in the front seat is possible to get a loaner car to use.

"takata recall" I received NHTSA recall no. 16v-340 on June 9,2016 stating that the front passenger airbag inflators produced by takata can cause injury or death and not to drive with a passanger in the right front seat. Today is sept 10, 2016. 90 days and not a word from Lexus regarding this recall. What's up?.
Takata recall. I received a recall notice and was told 1) I should not have a passenger in the passenger seat of my car and 2) there is no replacement yet. I checked today(8/16/16) and there still is not a solution for this safety defect. This problem with takata airbags has been going on for several years and there is no solution. How can there be no solution. Have there been no safe airbags installed in the last several years? if there are safe airbags inflators available why can't they be installed on affected autos. I bought a car to transport my wife and grandkids. And I can not use it because of foot dragging by both takata and Toyota. How much longer must I wait?.
