Overflow tank for radiator has cracked and lost all water to my car at least 5 times since 2004, I have gone to alhambra Mazda for help also to Mazda corporate headquarters in irvine, all refuse to acknowledge the problem. I was towed over 800 miles this summer due to breakage, the seam around dto tank cracks and leaks, causing heating problems, they stated that it was a unknown problem and that it was the way I drive, this is not possible, the part is defective, it will crack at any time or place, they keep trying to do pressure test and make me replace sensors, there is no problem with sensors. Please help me, I am seventy and cannot afford a new car. I am a good driver and keep my car serviced.

I bought a 1999 Mazda 626 lx in November of 1998. VIN 1yvgf22c3x5825750
about the time the warranty ran out I had taken my car into an oil change franchise. They suggested that I flush and renew the transmission fluid. So I did. That's when all the problems began. I then drove the car from NJ to FL where I lived. It started burning up a lot of oil so I took it into to Mazda. They said that it was well known that my make and model car runs hot. They said they could not see anything wrong with what the oil change franchise did. They recommended that I put a radiator on the transmission to keep it from boiling. . . Which is what it was doing. I believe it is the boiling transmission which has cause my engine to heat up so much that the oil has gunked my engine. Anyway, I took the car to a mechanic and they put in a radiator which seems to help some but now I'm continually having problems with the oil burning up without there being any leaks. I have continually had problems with the vehicle every since. In and out of the shops. No one seems to be able to get the car right. I have seen numerous reports of other Mazda owners having problems of this similar nature on the net. Mazda should take care of these problems and admit publicly that they've got problems with their vehicles and they should make it right.

1999 Mazda 626 ES v6-purchased used in 2003 and have had a continuous problem with overheating. The vehicle now has 85,819 miles on it and continues to overheat and now the a/c blows warm air even after replacing the compressor and switch. We have replaced the thermostat, relays, fans, water pump, flushed out the radiator, front and rear gaskets, new air compressor and have spent about $2500 in repairs only to be told by the mechanic he is out of options as to what is causing the problem. I believe Mazda is aware of this situation since I am reading on the internet various complaints about all of their products and see a pattern with the problems and these vehicles. When you purchase a vehicle and expect it to be reliable transportation and it is your only transportation it makes it impossible to replace since their is a contiuing problem. Mazda needs to be held responsible for these vehicles and held accountable for these repairs.
In August 2001, I purchased a brand new Mazda 626. In may 2003, I started to experience major problems with the car. At 23,000 miles, the following had to be replaced: transmission assembly, thermostat and radiator sub-tank. At 31,000 miles, my car was in the shop for 11 days in order to replace the following: mass air flow sensor, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, valve idle air control, thermostat gasket and the throttle body gasket. Now at 48,000 miles, I returned from a trip, got in my car and started driving. After a couple of minutes, I noticed that the thermostat was really hot, then the engine light came on and immediately the car died and started smoking (left my husband and myself stranded on the 405 fwy at midnight). I was told I need a new engine (engine long block, all water hoses, radiator, knock sensor, gasket set and spark plugs). The cost: $8400. They offered to reduce the cost to $5200, however I don't see how this is helpful for the car is probably worth less than that and even if they did replace the parts I have no doubt that they would just start falling apart again. I drive my car less than 10 miles a day, so I definitely do not think that all this damage is from normal wear and tear, rather I believe that Mazda is making inferior parts.

I am the original vehicle owner. The car has 120,000 miles on it. I had to replace the radiator, oxgen sensor and the transmission this summer. It seems unusual for a car this young to have such extensive, expensive problems.
The contact owns a 2001 Mazda 626. The contact stated that the water reservoir off the radiator has to be replaced for the fifth time. The reservoir holds the overflow from the radiator. There is a crack in the seal where the seal meets. She has had to pay for each repair because the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was out of warranty. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 150,000.

My car is nearing the end of its 3 year/36,000 warranty and I am frightened about how much future repairs will cost, as well as the overall safety of the car.
I am complaining about my 1998 Mazda 626. This car has been trouble ever since day one. I have had to replace the timing belt, the drive axles twice, and put in 4 transmissions. I have had the car since 2002 and had to replace the transmission every year. I could hardy make my car payments for having to spend extra money to repair my car.
Radiator was leaking on vehicle, and vehicle would start to overheat. Please provide further information.

Transmission locked up while driving at 45 mph , vehicle came to a dead stop with engine running. Front wheels locked up, and would not move due to torque converter failure. Engine would stall during right turns, dealer reset computer, then engine light illuminated, dealer stated the torque converter clutch was slipping, transmission locked up on the way to a dealership for replacement of torque converter clutch, a new transmission was installed and 20 miles later the od off light illuminated, vehicle started smoking and losing power, this time dealer stated the cooling system in the radiator was not large enough to cool the transmission, an external cooling system was installed, now transmission needs replaced again, consumer requests that vehicle be replaced or repurchased by the dealer.
Radiator was clogged and was causing the overdrive light to come on.
Radiator cap failed, causing engine to overheat.
Vehicle would stall out while driving. Engine would overheat & start smoking. Towed to Mazda dealership & mechanic indicated no oil in crankshaft & no anti-freeze in radiator. There were no lights on dashboard. This was a leased vehicle.
